I can remember playing many of these games for hours and hours back in the day. I always remember how they were so colourful and vibrant. They didn’t have much to work with in comparison with modern technology, so they tended to go more for fun and unique characters and colourful art styles.

Sonic 2 at 61 And for that reason, I'm out Sonic 1, Batman and Robin, and Zombies ate my Neighbors are also too low, but less egregious. I do appreciate the love for Pirates Gold though.
@Seno rac Sonic 3 is the best, but 2 has aged better than 1 in many ways. 1 doesn’t have the charged spindash, and Labyrinth and Marble zone are both really slow. Sonic 2 has more zones and better special stages, along with Tails and multiplayer. The level design in 2 is arguably the best of all 3 games, hence why some people actually like it more than Sonic 3. Sonic 1 was revolutionary for its time, but 2 did what a proper sequel is supposed to do, expand on it in every way
@@danielcogan8205 Sure Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my favourite, but I agree Sonic 2 is a great sequel to the original game. Sonic 1 laid the groundwork, Sonic 2 made improvements with just a few tweaks to the gameplay.

As a kid, I had Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Aladdin, Mortal Kombat 2, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ecco: The Tides of Time, Streets of Rage 2, Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition, and Sonic 3 and Knuckles, among other games. How could you leave out Super Street Fighter 2? It was my favorite Genesis game ever.

I loved seen Cruzader of Centry made it on this list. So underrated game. But still think that there are way to many shoot em up games on this lists, and a lot of classics and gems that didn't made it.

I played or at least I know a lot of this 100. There are a lot of games and, even if I never completed a lot of them -i never was very good at videogames tbh, and less when I was a children-, it was nice to see them again. I really love that my favourite games are in the TOP 3! I missed Home Alone.
I remember playing sonic, shinobi, street fighter, streets of rage, contra & road rash on sega genesis. There are games i also played missing here: jurassic park, terminator & michael jackson's moonwalker.
Yeah, I know. I didn't notice it until after I had put it together. The problem was the capture software I used; in previous videos, I used MSI Afterburner to capture; in this video, I used OBS Studio which, as you can see, captures the mouse. I am never using OBS Studio again. I will re-capture this video again at some point - without the stupid pointer!!!

Man I absolutely loved my Genesis system. I would spend countless hours enjoying the many great wonderful video games that Sega had offered us. High quality and more expensive than other games at the time. Buying a Genesis game was an investment in enjoyment. As I recall their games were also extremely challenging and strategic. Hail to the good ol days. Long live Genesis!
We used to visit a rented shop for playing games every Sunday at the cost of INR 10 ! We used to play WWF and Mortal Combat the most. Most Indians in Tier 3 cities couldn't afford SEGA games. Good old days.
I was worried when Marvel Land showed up on this list, but having Landstalker in the top 5 makes this a top 100 list akin to my own. 'Stalker is the most underrated Genesis title of all time and one I spent months on as a kid before the internet was a household utility. Damn that Greenmaze!!!
Love the Mega Drive/Genesis. My list would go something like: 10. Shinobi 3 9. Gunstar Heroes 8. Rocket Knight Adventures 7. TMNT: Hyperstone Heist 6. Sonic 3 & Knuckles 5. Golden Axe 4. Mickey and Donald: World of Illusion (So awesome in co-op and a different experience from sp entirely) 3. The Lion King 2. Aladdin 1. Streets of Rage (Had such a blast playing with a sibling) Must have played it at least a hundred times. Honorable mentions: Tiny Toons: Buster's Hidden Treasure; Strider; (Sequels or other entries to the above). There's so many, it's a tough list to put together.
Especially considering that Sonic 3 is #1. Sonic 2 is definitely on par, if not better than Sonic 3. When I watched this list, I had a feeling, that it was made by someone, who has not had a Sega Genesis, when it was popular and has not fully experienced them. It looked more like it was made by someone, who found out, which games are good on the console, tried them for himself and then made up his opinion. Nevertheless these games are all awesome and there are many more, that are great. It's very hard to place them in order, especially the best ones (there are at least 10, which I would give >95 out of 100).

Loved Jurassic Park, but play it now and all over in about 15 minutes. Can't believe the total size of the game was only about 1.1 megabytes. Played a few Mega Drive games via compilations on the PS2. Love the Sonic the Hedgehog games (Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my fave) as well as Streets of Rage 1 and 2, Shinobi 3, Comix Zone and Vectorman 1 and 2. Pretty good list of the best Mega Drive games.

Sega is the best, truly folk console, better than snes. Inexpensive games, understandable architecture, fast fps, amazing sound, a huge library of games, all known genres, the presence of serious adult projects and, of course, a corporate logo that no one else has!
Always surprised to Herzog Zwei on anyone's list. It will always be my favorite Genesis game. Far ahead of its time, I was so lucky a friend had it back in '89 because I probably would have never seen or played it.

I can remember playing many of these games for hours and hours back in the day. I always remember how they were so colourful and vibrant. They didn’t have much to work with in comparison with modern technology, so they tended to go more for fun and unique characters and colourful art styles.
My childhood without this is nothing 💜still miss this time with my siblings playing after school and all day long on the weekends😌MORTAL KOMBAT should be included in the list, one of the iconic games of 90's era and my fav.

@Seno rac Sonic 3 is the best, but 2 has aged better than 1 in many ways. 1 doesn’t have the charged spindash, and Labyrinth and Marble zone are both really slow. Sonic 2 has more zones and better special stages, along with Tails and multiplayer. The level design in 2 is arguably the best of all 3 games, hence why some people actually like it more than Sonic 3. Sonic 1 was revolutionary for its time, but 2 did what a proper sequel is supposed to do, expand on it in every way

Yeah, I know. I didn't notice it until after I had put it together. The problem was the capture software I used; in previous videos, I used MSI Afterburner to capture; in this video, I used OBS Studio which, as you can see, captures the mouse. I am never using OBS Studio again. I will re-capture this video again at some point - without the stupid pointer!!!

Man I absolutely loved my Genesis system. I would spend countless hours enjoying the many great wonderful video games that Sega had offered us. High quality and more expensive than other games at the time. Buying a Genesis game was an investment in enjoyment. As I recall their games were also extremely challenging and strategic. Hail to the good ol days. Long live Genesis!
We used to visit a rented shop for playing games every Sunday at the cost of INR 10 ! We used to play WWF and Mortal Combat the most. Most Indians in Tier 3 cities couldn't afford SEGA games. Good old days.

I was worried when Marvel Land showed up on this list, but having Landstalker in the top 5 makes this a top 100 list akin to my own. 'Stalker is the most underrated Genesis title of all time and one I spent months on as a kid before the internet was a household utility. Damn that Greenmaze!!!

Especially considering that Sonic 3 is #1. Sonic 2 is definitely on par, if not better than Sonic 3. When I watched this list, I had a feeling, that it was made by someone, who has not had a Sega Genesis, when it was popular and has not fully experienced them. It looked more like it was made by someone, who found out, which games are good on the console, tried them for himself and then made up his opinion. Nevertheless these games are all awesome and there are many more, that are great. It's very hard to place them in order, especially the best ones (there are at least 10, which I would give >95 out of 100).

Bonanza Brothers, Altered Beast and Cannon Fodder I would add. A good few games in there I've not heard of but also a few that feature on the SNES and are arguably better versions. Gotta love the sound of the Genesis though. Dirty stabby 90's dance goodness.
Played a few Mega Drive games via compilations on the PS2. Love the Sonic the Hedgehog games (Sonic 3 & Knuckles is my fave) as well as Streets of Rage 1 and 2, Shinobi 3, Comix Zone and Vectorman 1 and 2. Pretty good list of the best Mega Drive games.

Sega is the best, truly folk console, better than snes. Inexpensive games, understandable architecture, fast fps, amazing sound, a huge library of games, all known genres, the presence of serious adult projects and, of course, a corporate logo that no one else has!

Always surprised to Herzog Zwei on anyone's list. It will always be my favorite Genesis game. Far ahead of its time, I was so lucky a friend had it back in '89 because I probably would have never seen or played it.
