THIS is the board i was waiting for and ordered it on release day - september 30, got it 2 days later and installed. gorgeous. the only standout in my system against this board is the 4090 msi liquid, it is brown-ish with two black tubes going to a black radiator (though i hid the radiator). i was thinking of painting it white, but realized resale value would be non existent. i do have a water block and pump / reservoir for it, so just a white 360mm rad and clear tubes and i'm set. though, for speed, i paired this stunning board with a 7950x3d and three t705 corsair 2tb nvme drives, giving me a 6tb raid0 stripe with speeds of 26 GB/s. yes, read of 26.69 GB/s read and 22 GB/s write. quite the machine (96 GB of trident z 6800 ram, two sticks). whoosh.
You're right ...the Gigabyte X870E Aqrus Pro Wifi Ice is really Stunning! I'm not usually a White flavored MB fan ...but I'd make an exception for this motherboad. However ...I'm heavily into AM4 & personally don't see a reason to upgrade to AM5 or Intel 13th, 14th & upcoming 15th Gen Hardware. As always though ...I really enjoyed your Video Content & Info.🙂
Nice, isn't it. AM4 is still great, I'm considering swapping to an AM4 CPU for my PC. Different use cases for different people I guess. Glad to hear it, thank you ☺️
I love this board; it might be the best-looking board available for this generation. I'm going to put one in my new red/black Hyte Y70 case to go with the white/black Hyte THICC Q60 AIO in a push-pull configuration. Now I need for the 9950X3D and 5090/5080 to release.
I have the black version of this one and it's called X870E Elite Wifi 7. No RGB on the Aorus logo. Correct me if I'm wrong though. I'm in a different region and it's under a different name.
Thank you for the review! Am I correct that the only difference between Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO and the AORUS PRO ICE is colour, Jordan? I prefer the black option. Cheers!
Heya! I’m building a new PC but using my 3080 GPU from my current build which is on a B450 board (my pc is old I know)… I keep going back and forth between the x670E and the x870E. What would you recommend? My CPU will be the 7800x3D.. I live stream and do some light editing/designing. This Aorus board is literally my dream and is currently £330 on overclockers UK
Question if you did two PCI 4th gen M.2 1 in the 4 and one in the 5 down in the 3 slot section would it still impact the PCI X16 slot or just the 2nd X16 4th slot ?
That'll be one on the CPU and one on the chipset, so the PCIe slot should still be full speed. I mentioned using a chipset slot before and someone corrected me that'll be slower, so might as just well use the top and second anyway.
Hey you got any info on the GIGABYTE X870I AORUS PRO ICE itx board? bit wierd it hasnt launched with the other x870 boards, where I live it is listed on a few online stores with an unknown delivery date.
Hi, awesome review man! Got one question. So if i use the ssd pcie 5 located above the pcie5 for the graphic card and a pcie 5 graphic card(when they will be available) they will both working on full speed?or will lane splitting? Thanks and new sub here😊
hey man brand new to pc building one rn got the 4080 super and ryzen 9 7950x3d would you recommend this baord or should i save the 20 and get the x870e arous elite or do you recomed any good motherbaord for this build i whant the best i can for a budget rn
I googled Aorus Code C5 and got a few results. Try this - www.justanswer.com/computer/nrjhh-c5-code-won-t-boot-aorus-asrock-motherboard.html#:~:text=A%20C5%20error%20code%20on,and%20CPU%20are%20properly%20connected
Most likely the board i will be choosing on my upgrade, just waiting on the 9800x3d release. From what i have read it struggles on 8000mhz chips. but most 870 boards seem to be struggling.
I wanted this board when it was the X670e but it came with low quality audio so I waited for the GIGABYTE X870E AORUS PRO ICE and I am more discussed with Gigabyte as their Quality went down even more and they want more for it. GIGABYTE X870E AORUS PRO ICE for $359.99 vs. ASRock X870 STEEL LEGEND WIFI $259.99. Pro Ice give you 6-Layer PCB mid loss and the Steel Legend has 8_layer PCB low loss. The Ice comes with 2 extra 80A power stages but lower quality Audio ALC 1220 vs. ALC 4082 and both have plenty enough power for any AMD chip.
Just noticed one big difference there, the ASRock is X870, this is an X870E dual chipset. I'd compare it to the Nova Wifi, as that's also X870E. The white generally adds cost too.
@@jordanash I would not mind paying a little for the color white but their quality is not there on all their top boards below the master. I do like the Nova which to me competes with the Master -$150 but I always liked the White Ice boards.
@@jordanash You are right ,from all the X870E boards out there the Nova has it all and is better value. I will just have to paint it white for my build.
This board looks nice but boy did Gigabyte screw up on the SSD slots sharing bandwidth with the GPU. Losing half of the two advertised M.2 slots if you want your GPU to not be run at half speed? Better if they had reduced the M2 slots and added USB ports instead.
hey man quick question. does this board run and boot at 8000mhz ram? because i got a faulty mobo rn that wont boot when i set xmp system into my correct ram speed and it says it can run that high on the mobo
Hey dude. It should, if it's not then I'd say you need a BIOS update to the latest. A lot of board specs online have high support but then the actual board is on an older revision and it won't post. The last two builds I've done have has this problem and were instantly working post update.
@@jordanash nice dude thanks. i just upgraded everything and got the gigabyte x670e auros pro x and everytime i put it into 8000mhz (even with other brand ram sticks) it just fails to boot. thats why i was going to go with this board to get at least 7600-8000mhz

What's the performance on the GPU like given it'll be at X8 with three Gen 5 NVME?
@@jordanash don’t think they are aware of this unless the 4090 is just for show.
Great review! I like that Gigabyte paid attention to little details and didn't just slap black components on a white board.
Thank you! Yes definitely, can see they;rve put time and effort into it.
@@jordanash does it "restart" without hanging on the reboot? their x670e board still does that after 2 years with no fix.

What's the difference between the Pro Ice and the Elite Ice?
I covered the Elite just in black if you want to watch. The Elite is X870 which is a single chipset, more info on that in my round up video.

Yep, that's it
Gorgeous looking mobo. Not very convinced about the lane sharing between nvme 5.0 and gpu.
Yeah this generation seem a bit hit or miss with that. Looking forward to getting a Gen 5 GPU so I can test the *actual* difference it'll make.

Yeah both of those will be full speed, the splitting only starts when you add additional drives.

Couple of Kilos I'd say. Three I think, it's covered in the video...
