Im buying a Ranger Raptor in August and I can't stop watching Ranger Raptor content. I'm choosing shelter green because I love how it pops in the sun. I was thinking it would clash with the interior until I looked up green and orange clothes to see from a fashion perspective and I was glad to see it's very commonly paired together and looks good
I have a Shelter Green Raptor. About 5k miles on it now. Love it. Looks great.

@@chrisdriner does it sort of change shades in day/night sun/clouds? Back in 98 I had a 96 grand cherokee that was a light gray color that had that effect. It was an awesome color and pretty rare
It has kind of metallic flake that really shines in the sun, but I wouldn’t say that it changes color in my opinion, but to me, it’s absolutely the best color. However, the shelter green color is the only technically raptor color as you can get this azure gray in other vehicles from FORD.

I’ve been watching your videos for years and I gotta say this is the best one so far! Awesome job and bad ass Ford!
Ryan - with the Raptors and most Fords with "auto hold" features, when you brake boost the truck it actually limits power at launch as any brake pressure makes the truck limit the power when you simultaneously "boost" it - for the best time, engage the Auto Hold feature, don't boost it, and just hammer the gas in 4A / Sport Mode and you'll be fine. I've had a Gen 2 Raptor, Explorer ST and now a Gen3.5 (2024) Raptor and they're all quicker this way.
Iconic Silver is SUCH a good color! I had that on my 2022 Bronco!

Ford finally got my attention! I check a local dealership, marked up $10k over MSRP. It will look great at the dealership, maybe not so much this fall.
The sales guy at my dealer told me they plan on a $10k markup but told me to try to negotiate down to $2k and they will probably go for it. I dunno, I have a Tremor and payments almost up and that seems more appealing. We'll see.

@@rondail5675 if the economy was good then I would be more inclined but for that reason I am likely going to keep the Tremor and pay it off. Enjoy no payments. No way would I go for a 6-8% rate either, not sure what they're at now.
As much as I hate to admit it they aren’t sitting at dealers at all lol. I’m talking with in a few hours at least all the dealers within a 500mile radius where I am
@@bryankwong2175 yeah, the salesman told me they can even mark up special ordered ones which I though those had to be sticker price. I just hope I see a Ranger Raptor in person and think it doesn't look as good as videos lol. I really like my '21 XLT front end better than the '24 XLT by miles, new rangers have a Nissan Frontier vibe to me. Raptor ditches that.

I have the same issues with my Ranger Raptor’s lane keep assist.
I either gripe it firm and fight with it all the time or if I grip the wheel lightly and let it do its thing, then it thinks my hands are not on the wheel.
After several 1-5 hour road trips I have given up on the lane keep and just turn it off.
Cruise works great with keeping distances and such, so I use that and simply cancel lane keep. Hopefully Ford gets enough complaints like ours they update the lane keep software so it knows when our hands are on the wheel.
Keep in mind he is going up and down mountains. I have a bed cover and getting 18.7 mpg at sea level
Is the exhaust as droney as it sounds in this video on the highway?

If us regular people could get this for $57k or less out the door...then it wouldn't be a bad deal. But dealer markups will be the reason why Ford won't sell many of these.
You just have to look around I have three dealers locally that all will sell at MRSP.
They are already sold out and selling out within hours here in Cali.

Pretty awesome roadtrip! Does anyone know if this version of the Raptor has the Hi-Lock transfer case? I know F-150 and think Bronco Raptors have it, but wasnt sure about this one.
Really not liking the Canadian pricing on these halo midsize trucks. 80k for this and Tacoma trd pro. Zr2 seems like the bargain here.
Especially when you consider the discounts on the full sized trucks....

Def wouldn’t choose a Ranger over the new F150 Raptors, especially the Raptor R. Those things are powerhouse trail beasts and the literal kings of off-roading. If you’re going to go Raptor, go all the way.
This raptor model has a lot of value baked into it. 👊
Awesome adventure video. The main thing that worries me about controls in the screen is if the screen has an issue. My parents have a Ford Edge and the screen has randomly gone all black - I could see that being an issue out on trails when you need to engage lockers.
Anything other than warranty that would keep a person from disconnecting factory power connection to diff locks then add a set of switches & wire directly to get it out of screen ?

How is your drivers seat leather holding up? I've seen some people online saying it quickly stretches and gets wavy which would be kind of annoying
How low can you air down without needing to get rims that are meant to hold the bead more securely? OEM rims aren't meant to be aired down very much, are they? Or is it not an issue unless you get closer to 10 psi or less?

I actually like the silver colorway, I love the “skynet/cyber-esque” of it and it goes great with the black wheels. Silver ls a color we didn’t get in Mexico, but we got an orange that matches the highlights of the interior
In the pnw, every route is the scenic route.
The Taco TRD Pro and Trailhunter are cooked. Yeah you lose reliability, but for the lower price, yeah reliability won't matter to most buyers.
The new "forester" looks more like a Subaru Fordester.
Silver is by far the best color on that truck.
Personally in my NG Everest I would prefer a horizontal central screen you can get much wider CarPlay maps, my partner has Kia Sportage with the twin 12.3” it’s amazing.

I wouldn't take it thru a car wash. I used a touch less and heard a very loud pop. Think ford will have to stiffen the roof like GM had to do with none sunroof models.
You are lucky my truck rattles like crazy but so far that is the only complaint except a few weird shifts

I got my fully loaded 2020 Tacoma TRD PRO every option plus dealer installed crap for 50k. Built in Texas.
In Finland, if you register the Ranger Raptor as a passenger car, it costs 137000€ without options and if you register it as a truck (includes a 90km/h speed limiter and a larger payload) it costs 85000€ without options. This is all due to taxation which is based on emissions (on passenger cars).

@@YourTryingLuck that and the truck was designed around running 35's, they've had lockers front and rear for almost 10 years now, not to mention the years of them on the Hummers, so I feel like they'll be more reliable, but I'll give the Raptor the upper hand on the V6 Twin turbo as much as I don't like Ecobust engines lol

Required on the dunes so you can be seen over the ridges. (And nobody accidentally jumps over/onto you.)

Small tanks must be a Ford thing. We had 2018 Explorer and the range was terrible because of the mileage/tank size. I think they do it to avoid shock at filling a large tank.
HD trucks have 36 gallon tanks
0-60 is very slow. The regular Ranger with a Ford Performance tune does 5.6 seconds all day long. Would have expected the Raptor to be in the 4s off the lot. Not a good selling point on the big V6 when someone with a base model 4cly and $800 warranty tune can be just as fast.
You missed shelter green
When I placed the order, Shelter Green wasn't an option.
Id rather have to go into the touch screen to hit a Locker that I'll HAVE to use 3 times a year over the touch sreen for the headlights that I'll use every day or so.... so no touche to Chevy on that one.
Ford doesn't offer a sunroof on the ranger period regardless of trim.
If you used onX off-road you would’ve known if those roads were closed
Actually, I was using OnX and it didn't have any reports on those particular roads.
MPG of this truck is really disappointing. Full size trucks with V8s or with larger turbo V6s, all with similar power get better mpgs. Just seems like this thing should be seeing at least low 20s on highway. Low gearing perhaps?
Can we get more thoughts of your old Tremor vs the Raptor? On paper the Raptor is leagues above the Tremor but is it WORTH upgrading to is the tough question, real world off-road trails like you do not baja and such. Obvious answer the Raptor is better all around, but not sure it is worth getting into payments for. That is why I do not think I will get it. Will be payment free soon.
The Raptor is so much better than the Tremor it's not even close. Should you get into payments? Obviously only you can answer that. But if you CAN afford either, I wouldn't even look twice at the Tremor. (Still like the Tremor, but it's a nice Ranger. The Raptor is something totally different.)

Any off road truck that you can't get a moonroof in is a no sale for my wife and I... Throw in the no rear air vents and it's not even close... AT4X for us.
Why would you buy this? It's so small. Just get the full size. As far as the sunroof is concerned, that's just silly to mention the weight. The Raptor R has the option.
For going dow nasty dirt roads off-roading /4x4ing full-size trucks are too big to be getting around on the trails. Actually this thing is probably too big to be getting down tight trails?
And if you want your truck for hauling plywood, construction supplies. Farm equipment... a work truck... why the hell would you be wasting the money on a raptor?😅
lol slick..this lil Raptor can go places the Full size trucks can’t. Easier to get around in the cities. Better gas mileage. More maneuverable and almost, half the price.
I wish the styling was more Raptor , not wide enough on the fender flares imo.
I hope more videos of made of the normal fx4 ranger. All of the literature seems to be of the raptor.

Johnny come lately Ranger wants to play a role in outdoorsy areas. No chance. Toyota wins in this segment because of commitment. Because of being there always. Because of hybrids. Not leaving customers for greener easier pastures of large pickups and then returning with weak untested products. Tacoma owns 50% of the segment because of that commitment. Reliability. Residual Value and Resale Value. Variety of forms and trim for different budgets. Two door, long bed, manuals, offroady and real offroady. Just look at that big LCD and how Ranger gets rid of hard touch buttons and knobs in favor of putting in LCD, and then you have to wonder how many other short cuts Ford makes under the covers, not to mention no Sunroof. King Tacoma is the KING of OFFROAD and midsize SEGMENT, PERIOD END OF SENTENCE.
Supplier issues, workforce issues in Mexico, lost sales to the other Brands…..Toyota has shat the bed with the latest Tacoma
Chevy fans comparing the headlights controller to the Ford's locker controller is like comparing apples to oranges. Most people need their headlights far more often than a locker. Having a computer screen go out or other computer screen issue in the Chevy for an extended time is going to be far more intrusive than not having access to lockers. Dumb

The sound of the engine really turned me off. I like TRD Pro and ZR2 better, even the looks. This Ranger truck doesn’t look as modern as those two.
Are you saying the blue paint is also lame? And I guess the red also? In general, to me black, white ,(also "show me the dirt colors") and gray are all the "same" lame,lifeless choices 🙁. White, the complete lack of all color . Black the combination of all colors and the color of a funeral hearse. Also, Quickly hotter than hell sitting out in the sun. They both show dirt badly. For people that can't decide between those two lame color choices of black or white.. . They just combine them and make Gray / "metal flake gray/schist/ Mica/silver". 😅
Besides the red and the blue all I see is some version of the black white or gray choices.
