Why do people obsess with bigger tires? Their more expensive, they make it louder, they make it harder to get into, it rubs, and it bottoms out. Big tires are STUPID unless you do one thing. Low speed rock crawling. And 99.7% of others dont.
Don’t look at the shifter when you are looking for reverse. There is a display on the dash screen right in front of you that shows which mode you are in.
Can you post a photo of the Rear AC on the Thailand built Rangers? …we got stiffed in the US…..not offered …I guess the designers don’t have a wailing 2 year old in the back seat sweating in a car seat
I love my Baby Raptor! After only a week the only thing I would like to see changed is the position of the My Menu items. My Menu could be off to the side and the speedometer or tach in the middle in the line of site would be better. Or better yet, let us decide what we want to be the focal point in the center. I have adapted to the mini shifter. Perfectly happy with the wheel/tire combo (we have 35's on our Bronco). Kinda like the bump in the middle of the dash where the speaker is (guess that is why we don't all drive Black Model A's). Only pop the hood to air up and am amazed at all the things connected that make me smile when I press the go pedal. And the hangy downy thingy at the mirror is locked in on mine.
I’m having so many quality issues with my 2024 Ranger raptor. I was so hyped for this truck but the only 300 miles and the issues keep piling on. Just to list a few: -creaking dashboard. Anytime I hit even a slight bump it creaks, or even a sharp turn and it will creak. Anything other than a perfectly smooth road it creaks and it’s driving me crazy cus it’s creaking like 80% of my drive. -Panel gaps everywhere, this effects being unable to close driver side doors unless I slam them. I’ve often found out the door wasn’t even closed when i came back to car cuz I didn’t slam it hard enough. Tailgate is misaligned as well. The hood has a big panel gap on one side vs other so has to be slammed pretty hard to shut just like doors. -the dashboard pieces all have play in it, I’m fine with this but after spending over 60k I wouldn’t expect this -so much rust under body, yes I guess a little rust is fine. But there’s too much, why is ford having such poor rust prevention? Never had this issue with any of the other new cars I’ve bought in my life
@@AllTerrainNation correct, now it’s at dealer and it’s a one month repair sadly. They have to take out the entire dash to find the squeak, they are redoing all the doors/hood at the body shop. Just surprised a brand new car needs all that done to get it to normal condition.
You’re spot on with the parking sensors…. It drives me crazy when I’m backing up and the cross traffic alert comes on because a car in front of me is driving by 🤬
I posted before I read the comments definatly glad I got a later build. Once I got a build week my experiance with Ford was Awesome. The wait before then was hell. 😅
First time seeing a Ranger Raptor reviewed. I'm impressed with your Ranger Raptor from the color you selected to the overall design. I'm also a Big fan of It's high tech features. Awesome truck. Looking forward seeing you making some off roading runs
AM radio travels a significant distance compared to FM and Digital. Come to Australia - we need AM radio in remote areas otherwise you’ll never know what is going on in the world. Australia has the same landmass as the USA but we only have 28 million people not 300 million. The Ranger Raptor might have been developed and tested in Australia but it is manufactured in Thailand. Sadly we don’t make cars here anymore. The 33 inch tyres will allow you to get into top gear in auto rather than forcing it up manually. Good review.
Yes my Bronco collision sensors are a bit too sensitive. Now my Ranger Raptor sensors for collision seem set pretty well. But lane departure just constantly fights me, or if I hold the wheel loosely to avoid the fight, it gets mad and thinks my hands are not on the wheel when they are. So I pretty much end up turning the lane keep off .
I ordered mine on May 26th 2023 and waited almost a Year for delivery. I ended up not taking delivery because of the quality issues. The windshield had a bad Fishbowl distortion on the right side and as you said the loose cover over the windshield camera and shifter etc. I really did not like the way it drove on the street and for me most of my driving is on the street and only about 10% unimproved roads in the North GA mountain. The truck did ride great, and the engine and drivetrain are the bomb but for the price I feel an F-150 is a better option. I felt the truck should corner better on the street and yes I did try sport mode I drove the truck 50 miles before I decided to pass on it. To me it felt more like the F 250 I had in the past regarding cornering and breaking it was just not as nimble as I had hoped it would be.
@captainbill1721 I don't know what you felt on your 50 mile test drive, because your comment is the total opposite of almost every new owner in the comment section and every UA-camr that has had this vehicle to test for upwards of a week! I traded in my 6-Inch lifted 2021 F-150 Lariat for my Ranger Raptor that I ordered in October 2023. You said the F-150 is a better option.. How? These two vehicles are night and day in comparison. I have a tuned 2020 Explorer ST.. When I test drove the Ranger Raptor, it immediately gave me a feel of nimbleness and speed that I get from my Explorer, even though the overall driving dynamics are different between the two. From the seat of my pants, you can feel that it's a much lighter vehicle and the 400+HP engine is no slouch in this truck. I never got that feeling with my 3.5 EcoBoost F-150, unless I took off from a light pushing the pedal to the floor! The F-150 is also slower to respond to throttle inputs while driving, whereas the Ranger Raptor just goes where you point it as soon as you feather the throttle! Although I normally drive alone 98% of the time, I do miss the spaciousness of the F-150, as well as my moonroof, cooled seats and rear HVAC that the Ranger Raptor is missing. For me the elephant in the room is the fuel economy.. My F-150, was HUGE, and it sat on 35-Inch Ridge Grapplers with 22-Inch wheels, which got me a whopping 11 MPG on a good day! In 18 months, I only drove the F-150 a little over 7,000 miles, and that was mainly because of the fuel economy. I travel about 60 miles round trip to work. It used to cost me $25.00 - $28.00 to top off my tank after driving back to my neighborhood. I hope with time I can get at least 15 MPG from the Ranger Raptor. I get around 17 MPG around town with my Explorer ST. The funny thing with these EcoBoost engines is that they all get up and go! So worrying about fuel economy is foolish when you're always in the powerband having fun with your toy! LOL
@@DalHarpJr Glad you are happy with your purchase My 2024 F150 is great with all the comforts of home and off-road ability for what I need with the Fx4 package. I am shocked that your mileage is so low. My F150 only has a couple of thousand miles and mine is averaging 19.4 with the 3.5L. The 2024 F150 tech still blows the ranger away with the onboard scales etc. I was able to purchase a truck with an MSRP of just over 77K for just under 64K out the door with my X Plan and private offers and Ford Money. I have a 23 Bronco so if I need to go way off road I am set. I had the roof tinted which makes it more like my Mach E roof and way more usable. The windshield on the F150 is clear and not distorted and the interior fitment is perfect, no stretch in the leather that others are seeing in the ranger. I am hoping that Ford works out the problems other are reporting on the Ranger6G forum, and I will have one in a couple of model years once they figure it out.
@@captainbill1721 I can see how the F-150's have been holding on the the best in it's class crown for so many decades! It's a very nice truck, don't get me wrong. But with the 11 MPG I was constantly getting, I never drove the truck, unless I was running local errands. It just sat in front of my house. Being lifted with 35-Inch Ridge Grappler tires on 22x12-Inch wheels definitely played a role in the terrible mileage I was getting. But it was a nice truck. I bought the F-150 because I got tired of waiting for my 2021 turned 2023 Bronco Wildtrak! Hopefully the smaller footprint of the Ranger Raptor will make a difference, as it already feels like I'm driving my Explorer ST!
The AUX switches on the dash would be a bad idea because when turned on they produce a small light that would glare off of the windshield but i get what you mean. As for the back up sensors and parking sensors I'm gonna say its a raptor thing. I had a 2019 Raptor and the sensors on that where fantastic. No issues with them alerting me of a car 3 blocks away, lol. Id go to the dealership with the plastic on the interior. I don't have a RR yet. I'm putting in my order in a few months and I'm going to be getting a 2025. When it comes to the tires I'm only going to put on true 33s. I think the actual measurements are like 32.7, something like that. I'm not doing 35s because of how well tuned raptors are. Plus i know that when it comes to 35s you have to do some sort of lift and it has potential to mess up the sensors for the Fox Live-Valve. I didnt lift my 19 and I'm not gonna lift my 25. I am however going to put a Baja style front and rear bumper on it to help with approach and departure angles. There's also aftermarket for the side steps that flushes the step. That's something I'm getting as well, an extra inch in breakover angle is nice too.
Really nice video, I have one of these, my first ford. I'm down in Colombia and we get the euro spec engine with only 288bhp, which although significantly down from the USA / AUS is more than enough for these tyres on wet sealed roads. I've really been impressed with it so far, very comfortable on and off road, build quality is very good ( i dont have that problem with the mirror surround). Materials are ok, the sensors at the front I find a little slow, but the one thing I really dont like is the key. My other cars are Porsche and AMG and the number of times I have set the alarm off when either going to lock the vehicle or squashing it in my pocket when loading bikes in the back I have lost count of. I dont like the opening the drivers or passenger door does not open the whole thing, which means messing around with the key again to unlock the tail gate. However overall I'm very happy after 2000 miles.
I have been 2 weeks with mine full loaded XLT in azure gray. Love the thing but I do have that same issue with the cover in the rearview mirror, also a little gap in the right side of the radio. I checked another one and it was fine seems some of them have that gap but still Love it I just wish I had the 2.7
Thanks For the Video Dave. I’ve been waiting for this one. I haven’t had mine long enough to gather my thoughts on it. But I will say I definitely don’t like the running boards. I’m 6’2, they are just at that height of where they are either too low or too high for me. Visually I don’t like the forward rake of the truck. But so far I am completely satisfied with mine
@RRAPTOR24 Rough Country is the only company at the moment producing 2-Inch leveling kits for the Ranger Raptor. They're less than $75.00. I ordered them immediately, because I don't care for that rake either!
Alot of people including myself have rattles. Seems to be coming from the seat belts. If I buckle and take up the slack on all seat belts the rattle disappear. Hopefully ford can do something to fix that. Oh also had to remove the center console tray. Also the roof is flimsy so be careful with car washes. GMC had to add stiffener for the same reason on colorado and canyons
Hi Dave! Thank you 🙏 for another gem 💎 of a video! Very informative! My Ranger Raptor is now in production ( Hot Pepper 🌶️ Red Metallic), and am looking forward to hitting the trails and the road in the vehicle 🚗! Keep up the great work you are doing for us all my friend!
I wish mine had power steps. Thatway they are tucked away and make truck look higher. How about a video showing how to remove the black fender flares? I want to pull mine off and paint them body color. Just want to make sure i don't break them when removing.
I plan on ordering one in the next 2-3 months and I'm torn between that shelter green and azure gray. I love how the green pops in the sun but have yet to see the gray in person.
Why are the tail lamp lenses opaque and not clear like the other models ? I love that the Ranger has Amber Turn Lamps …the only midsize truck to have them and that is important to me and where are the step in foot wells on the bottom of the bed I read so much about …you don’t get them as standard on this model for that price???
⚖️ Thank you for sharing your story, much appreciated . Good reasonable comments, I think the tires are that particular size for better mpg, nice truck, however, your right about sharing Information to negotiate possibilities, open communications is essential to enhance quality and practicality . Thanks for the moral support 🎵
It makes me happy to see that you have over 1000 miles on the truck and your average MPG is 13.2. I am just around 14 with 2000 miles and thought i was driving it hard. Always good to see that i'm not the only one getting sub 15 mpg. Awesome video. Your comment about the running boards making the truck look a little lower than it really is was spot on. i didn't notice that before but now i see it big time haha.
... Why would the step to get into the vehicle be as high as the floor of the vehicle? This was the most absurd complaint. They unbolt in ten minutes. If you're tall enough to not need them, take them off. Derp.
I wish the lockers were a hard button vs the touch screen. Non ventilated leather seats sucks for this of us who live in the desert. The back seats don’t have ventilation vent through the console, and again that sucks for us desert dwellers. A grab handle on the drivers side post would make getting in a little easier. I wish the trailer plugs were next to the license plate vs under the bumper, they may get damaged off roading. I’d probably put a 2” level kit on the front and maybe go to 34” tires when the factory tires wear out. A auto drop down step would clean up the look and be helpful for getting in and out. Otherwise I think this truck is pretty close to perfect. I hope that all the tech doesn’t hurt the reliability of it.
If you tuck the running boards up as you suggest, why are they even there? They will provide no assistance in entering or exiting. I'm 6'2" and the first thing I did was take them off my new '24 RR. I'm looking at installing electric running boards just because they go lower when the door is opened, making entry/exit much easier. You are correct however, the OEM running boards look nice and from that perspective, I didn't want to take them off.
My ranger raptor also in shelter green is on its way to the dealership. I opted out of the spray in bed liner this time because ford did such a terrible job on my 2021 f150 that they had to send it to rhino liner to correct it. It was thin or missing in some of the corners on the work surface and it was also cracked and flaking on the tailgate
Do you use the wireless charging with your phone? I put my phone on it when I left the dealer 30 min later I lost car play, turned out the wireless charging overheated my phone and my phone shut down. I have not used that charging pad since.
Hi Dave I am glad I got an April build over a Feb or March build. My plastic by the mirror is tight and no rattles. I agree on the bed liner. Awesome! I was 31 days from blend date to picking it up at the dealer here in Oregon. I love the shifter it is so easy to use. Takes a light touch...perfect. I use the steps and I wouldn't want them any higher. I have only owned 4X4 vehicles since 1974. Nothing matches the Baby Raptor. I do have a nit pick on the plastic around the mirror blocking windshield view. I'm sure Ford needs it for some reason. Question are you going to the Raptor Assault school?
Mine was ordered last July. Still hasn’t arrived and has been showing “being built” status for 3 months. Any insight on order to deliver timelines when the website is showing no movement?
Love the sound of the engine but the range on a tank of gas is no bueno. Also the annual fuel cost is the gift that keeps taking after the initial thrill. For those of you who do not use premium fuel each time, could you really afford the Raptor? (Sorry, my practical side coming out) Oh and why the antenna? Isn't the shark fin enough? Just something for the car wash to break. Love the memory seat!
I would never take any car or truck through a car wash personally. They beat up and scratch cars. Raptors are not for people looking for fuel economy. I have averaged 18.5 and really could care less. If you need a practical and fuel efficient truck buy a Maverick.
@@AllTerrainNation Agree on car washes and fuel. I have seen many comments on Raptor owers saying they use 87. So what was the amount on the sticker for annual fuel cost & the city and highway MPG ratings?
Great video. I am very excited to get mine. Do you know if they are limiting production on these. I have heard some dealers may only get one allocation this year. My dealer is small and they already ordered and delivered their first one this year. I am next, just hoping I can get mine scheduled before the next model year. I am worried the price will go up dramatically
I really like the ZR2 but more so the AT4X trim. Feels more premium v the Chevy. The Toyota will have better aftermarket options but no front locker. That’s a hard one to pick.
Gidday, I liked your comments, I have an Aussie 2023 Raptor down under (in the country) and after 22,000 klm it still puts a smile on my face. My only criticism is the spray in liner, when you have a shutter lid on the tub the dust penetration into the tub coats everything. What Ford do not tell you that fitted tub liner comes with dust seals fitted hence no dust. I traded my 2017 Mustang in for this and have never looked back!! an Amazing "UTE" as we call it.
That panel is not a Ranger Raptor thing, its yours... mine is solid... get it done under warranty... ive noticed US missed out with a few things in your Raptors, you did get heated steering wheel but useless in Australia..and the rear window.. which i would never use...
No 35s or pano roof in a "raptor" is a fail... 285/70s ARE NOT EVEN 33s! That's like a 32.5x11.50... I was looking for a smaller truck but I'll keep my 22 F150 yes with 35s and pano roof...
I'll never get use to that infotainment. I'll get use to the vertical space in general, but not the on screen buttons. Software will never replace proper buttons for when you're driving a vehicle. You're either taking your eyes off the road or you're waiting until you come to a stop. No vent seats nor sunroof are also bummers coming from an AT4X.
You are being particularly picky tbh especially on the little like that side bars and speaker space ontop of the headunit..... I have owned mine for 2 months in Australia now, its been tuned by Herrod Performance, bigger intercooler and transcooler, full turbo back Tickford exhaust, process west air intake and putting out over 450HP at the wheels. These trucks are astounding for a midsize. Give it a few more months and mods.
Premium price does not equal premium quality these days...especially in a FORD. Every manufacturer is making crappier vehicles that do not last as long, more tech, and charging a small fortune. Planned obsolescence.
Do you even know the purpose of a side step?? To step on it before climbing in, so there is a space for your shoe without kicking the panel and the paint. Also keeps the rocks from destroying the side of the vehicle
I hate the screen for turning things on and off, buttons please, changing the radio channel is going to require one to look at the screen.. in all my vehicles I can do everything without taking my eyes off the road..
This sounds really picky, but I HATE the Raptor graphics. They look cheap and tacky. This is an expensive vehicle. Why can’t Ford put a more refined Raptor logo on the truck? I also hate the red accents in the interior. It also looks cheap and tacky.
Why do people obsess with bigger tires? Their more expensive, they make it louder, they make it harder to get into, it rubs, and it bottoms out. Big tires are STUPID unless you do one thing. Low speed rock crawling. And 99.7% of others dont.

One simple reason.. Because they’re Cool!

Nothing worse than a truck looking like it skipped leg day……..

There’s a reason why Ford Performance switched the 33s out with 35s when they ran Finke in Australia, it’s just more capable.

They are pre wired for aftermarket lights and such
Really nice video, I have one of these, my first ford.
Just checked the peice near rearview mirror on mine. It moves like yours. Very disappointing. I've had my truck 9 days now.
We have a few other things but it’s a fun truck.
@RRAPTOR24 Rough Country is the only company at the moment producing 2-Inch leveling kits for the Ranger Raptor. They're less than $75.00. I ordered them immediately, because I don't care for that rake either!
Beautiful looking truck Dave. That colour really suits it.
Thanks 👍
I have a 2022 Ridgeline Black Edition for smooth ride and quiet interior. How does the Raptor compare?
The Raptor can be very quiet on the highway. The exhaust can be set to quiet mode or a loud Baja mode.
Not enough hand holds too …so easy to do and much needed
Which one do you prefer for daily driver and like more? Bronco or ranger raptor? TIA
Ranger Raptor
Thank you for the nice words.. you are in the hardest part of the ordering.. Feels like the truck will never move.. Stay strong is a great truck
Both were on our list..
@@AllTerrainNation what made you choose the green? Does the gray look to bland in person in your opinion?
@@bryy2053 we wanted the launch color with is a Ford Performance only color
I don't like big tires because they tend to bounce too much and make the ride more jittery. I also wish the steering wheel tilted a little lower.
Are these comfortable to drive on the hyw, and how is over bumps and potholes
Drives great on any road
We have a fuel economy video coming.. It will do better that 13 :) but I cant stay out of it
I feel like Ford was trying to keep the costs down which may be why no cool seats.
The locker should be a real button
Does it have ambient lighting in the doors or dash?
That’s a great question.. I haven’t noticed it or honestly paid any attention to it and sadly we sold the truck
Do you think the 25 will have any changes or would it be a carryover from the 24? Debating if I should get the 24 or wait for the 25.
I think we will see 2 new colors but no changes past that
@@AllTerrainNation thanks. Can't wait to see those colors.
Could definitely have put on rock sliders like the zr2 colorado.
Congrats! You will love it
Do you use the wireless charging with your phone?
I put my phone on it when I left the dealer 30 min later I lost car play, turned out the wireless charging overheated my phone and my phone shut down.
I have not used that charging pad since.
Yes I use it but will say it does get warm.
Will your toes fit in there during the winter on the Phone Charger ..warm them up!!
No sunroof option is amazing for what Ford charges for these - one do the reasons I west with a GMC and I traditionally am loyal to Ford.
We hope to go to the school this year
@@AllTerrainNation I am booked in late June. Would love to meet you in person if you end up in my class.
Mine was ordered last July. Still hasn’t arrived and has been showing “being built” status for 3 months. Any insight on order to deliver timelines when the website is showing no movement?
Have you talked with your dealership? I know in production can show for a bit but generally once it’s built it should ship pretty quickly
Yes I have. They are as clueless as I am.
I’ve been trying to find one to sit in… I’m 6”3’ and don’t know if my head would rub or not on the roof… thoughts?
I’m 5’8” so 🤣
My husband is almost 6’4 with a long torso. He has more head room in this than his Bronco.
@ShotInTheDark214 I'm 6'5" 300lbs.. There is plenty of room in the Ranger Raptor for me, so you should be good as well!
I love the size.
Ford is quality job 1, or 2. My 22 bronco had lots of in a hurry problems, have seen less in the raptor. Still a problem for them but getting better
Same fear here to
The initial run was every dealer gets one allocation but I know dealers are gaining more now..
IF this didn't exist and you had to recommend a mid-size off-roader for about the same(ish) $$ would you go Colorado ZR2 or a Tacoma TRD Off Road ?
I really like the ZR2 but more so the AT4X trim. Feels more premium v the Chevy. The Toyota will have better aftermarket options but no front locker. That’s a hard one to pick.
like it still haven't seen one in person
Ford doesn't longer use engine cover in most pf engines now
Gidday, I liked your comments, I have an Aussie 2023 Raptor down under (in the country) and after 22,000 klm it still puts a smile on my face.
Great video as always
Thank you for watching
Will it fit 35s?
With some minor adjustments
"Here in America, unfortunately, everybody wants that extra inch" 😅
Guess we're just hard to please...
2000 miles, replacing the cam phasers
That stinks
Show us how it parks itself.
That panel is not a Ranger Raptor thing, its yours... mine is solid... get it done under warranty... ive noticed US missed out with a few things in your Raptors, you did get heated steering wheel but useless in Australia..and the rear window.. which i would never use...
This truck rules...BUT my two cents...Too much tech, No 35s, and NO REAR AC VENTS! hahaha. Id love to own one though!
Dont get us wrong we do love the truck..
Premium price does not equal premium quality these days...especially in a FORD. Every manufacturer is making crappier vehicles that do not last as long, more tech, and charging a small fortune. Planned obsolescence.
People complain either way if they put a Cover people complain if they don’t people complain
No mater who's big screen from any manufacturer, FINGERPRINTS UGH!
Do you even know the purpose of a side step?? To step on it before climbing in, so there is a space for your shoe without kicking the panel and the paint. Also keeps the rocks from destroying the side of the vehicle
@@braamkotze473 I understand your point but I would like the step higher
The new Tacoma doesn't have an engine cover either.
You forgot 1 Bad thing..................................................PRICE but i guess that includes ever truck now.
RAPTOR!!!! They are saving $8.00 / Ranger with a Stick over Struts... :(
@SpaceTech54 Hood struts fail over time whereas your prop rod won't!
@@DalHarpJr I've had prop rods fails more often than struts, piss off
I hate the screen for turning things on and off, buttons please, changing the radio channel is going to require one to look at the screen.. in all my vehicles I can do everything without taking my eyes off the road..
This sounds really picky, but I HATE the Raptor graphics. They look cheap and tacky. This is an expensive vehicle. Why can’t Ford put a more refined Raptor logo on the truck?
I also hate the red accents in the interior. It also looks cheap and tacky.
The crazy look has always been part of what makes a Raptor a Raptor but I understand its not for everyone
agreed...cheezy!
The shifter sucks
