With the Power Rangers 30th Anniversary over and many Power Ranger-related projects either being moved to other companies, paused, or reportedly scrapped, we have to ask, what is the future of the Power Rangers brand and Power Rangers movies, TV shows, collectible action figures, and more?

The "90s is starting to look real old" hit me like a truck. I was talking to another student and realized they were 10 years younger than me. What original power rangers, Xmen TAS, and the first spider-man movie is to me, Batman begins and Iron Man was to them. This whole wave of merchandising and nostalgia started when millenials were hitting their 20s, theres another generation coming up and if you keep recycling the same old nostalgia for an ever aging audience, theres going to be nothing for the nostaglia of that next generation whos energized and under served.
its the same thing that crashed the comic book market back in the 90s; regearing towards old fans with disposable income might work for a while, but eventually is starts to stifle and stomp out innovative ideas in favor of cheap markettable callbacks. A similar thing is happening with ANOTHER Hasbro IP, Transformers.
Lately, it feels like everything has been marketted towards the fans who grew up with the 80s show, but what about the kids who grew up with Armada or the Bayverse?
I dont care what studio picks up Power rangers but hire Andre as an advisor, i freaking love his ideas
Andre and Linkara would be great consultants if they’re trying to have some ties back to the original 30 year legacy
Hear me out…Power Rangers movie directed by James Gunn🔥🔥🔥
There's so many of us who know how to do it right. Andre is definitely a leader in the fandom.
I mean, Andre was already a Power Ranger, so it'd make sense.
In the words of Ian Malcolm, "Nature... ah ah.... finds a way."
The Morphing Grid is still on 😊
Omega ranger show!
@@BlackNerdComedyhey Andre I’m hoping for like a movie but not with the terrible awful suits like the 2017 one I want this movie to be with the 1993 suits but alittle bit of upgrade
An animated continuation that could use new and old rangers from any point is the most obvious answer and I can't believe it hasn't been done
because the fun of power rangers was the martial arts and the kaiju movie monster suits. With animation, you dont get that.
Explain the Boom Comics then.
What should happen:
3 directions.
1. New studio (Paramount) handles a reboot. They can do whatever they want.
2. Hasbro gets their Canadian team off the ground and goes back to sentai adaptions, they're cheap enough and it keeps the "Hardcore" fans happy and buying toys.
3. Animated show for both audiences that would be something like the Teen Titans Go or Harley Quinn show, but could be a bit more serious. Easy way for Alum to come back and voice their characters again, Kayman-Lee said he'd be down to return if this was the direction they went.
But the trick is, do all 3. There is no such thing as "universe confusion" when you have a brand as big as PR, Marvel juggles it just fine and youtubers serve to help explain any kind of twisting around or mixing it up. Plus, if you do them simultaneously you can cross over and double expose the hardcore fans with the mainstream fans.
Problem with Sentai footage it’s getting harder to use. Whole point of using the Sentai footage is was to film less original content. But watching the last 3 seasons of Sentai, you’d have to reshoot everything 100% because none of it translate to the power rangers formula.
Paramount is literally on the verge of collapsing 😓. Seeking out a major company to be bought, with their stock almost going low, like, they're going through a huge darker phase as we speak. And I fear the worst for what the outcome is going to be for them in regards to who will carry the studio from now on
Honestly an animated power rangers series should be inspired by 2000s cartoons like Ben 10
@@christianramirez6578 One perfect blueprint that could make a Power Rangers animated series work should be Ninjago. The writing and characters could bring a great formula for Power Rangers if done right
I feel that would make things even more confusing for newcomers and spread the fanbase too thin. If you have 3 different versions all happening at the same time, newcomers to the series are going to constantly ask "which is the definitive version? Which should I watch first? Do I need to watch them all?" and more likely than not they will just not even bother watching any of them.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been any animated Power Rangers projects.
they fumbling so hard
Right? They could have the same treatment like the did for Teen Titans Go. It’s a less serious adaptation of the original show and focused more of the Rangers teen life. Bulk and Skull can be seen more often. And so much more!
@@favian4591so basically ur saying mmpr but animated mmpr felt more like a sitcom than action series
Exactly. Power Rangers already has the action and edge. People forgot that it also has a comedy side too. And with an animated MMPR, they can experiment with their comedy side more.
there is animated PR, it's called Voltron
Many have have defected from the franchise but it's fans like us who keeps the spirit of Power Rangers alive. The show needs our help more than ever
Defecting would have been the smart move. The NICK years of PR have been absolute cringe.
@@Knightfall182 How could you say that? Just because you don't like a certain series doesn't mean to give up the entire thing. Super Sentai had their share of problems no doubt, but no one is crying for their cancellation
@@17samuraispiritred Don't listen to that dumb ass, he trolls on every PR video out there
@@17samuraispiritredYes but power rangers has a whole bag of issues bigger than any franchise
Dear industry, just hire Andre to be head of the creative side of things for writing please lol. Either animated, or a tv show with episodes that are nearly the length of movies how HBO (easy callback, *cough* Decka. *cough*). More serious tone is all I care about.
Andre, and Linkara need to be involved with any future developments or concepts. Great perspectives from both guys that could work great for fun new ideas and writing.
Heck, bring them in, and bring back Judd “Chip” Lynn for creative writing/direction.
I just fear that if they divorce themselves completely from the Sentai footage, without that need to change up the aesthetics and the cast every few years, we’ll just get MMPR over and over again. Those same dinosaurs, same characters (even if played by different actors), same storylines. I’d love to be proven wrong, but I just don’t have much hope there’d be anything fully original, neither derived from Sentai nor a reboot/“reimagining” of the first series.
We are getting power rangers infinity which is an original team in the comics so I disagree
Disagree
We always get a new team whether show or comics I think they’ll keep doing that
This is a fantastic point. Sentai will have an entire season about spider-based zords or forms of electricity just for the shit of it while if Disney had to be the one to decide the theme, they'll go the safe "Let's just go with dinosaurs again". I'm not even a huge Power Rangers fan anymore but I respect that Sentai isn't afraid to try completely weird stuff and not even try to pretend like it's normal.
Problem with the Sentai footage is the footage is becoming less usable. The last few Sentai series were great for Japanese audiences but doesn’t easily translate to power rangers.
They should do something animated.
I think they should really just reboot the whole thing by establishing why the Power Rangers were even formed in the first place.
It's insane to me that they don't just keep adapting Sentai, it's why PR exists, because it's cheap to make with the existing assets!
I say do that, then do the crossovery/more mature stuff as specials while keeping the new seasons mostly self-contained for the new audiences.
It's a stale formula. Next.
@@stephen_sezsI recommend watching In Space, SPD or RPM as examples of how you can change up the formula while still keeping it Power Rangers.
The disney era was perfect cause disney didnt care enough about it to interfere, but it was still relatively successful. Now its just pandering to 40 year olds with mmpr, which most fans are tired of.
They literally tried to kill off the show after a few seasons.
I loved all 7 series too, but they were too short and lacked team ups. We only got 3.
The only people I ever see hoping for more power rangers or talking about it want a newer more serious/adult version of MMPR. No one but the hardcores care about any other version. You cater to your audience which is people who watched from the OG movie and before.
Selling Power Rangers back to Saban is the definition of “THE WORST DECISION DISNEY HAS EVER MADE” 👎🏻 because after they no longer wanting to own the show we get more sh***ier 💩 seasons & failed licensed products. Samurai was not loved by many, Megaforce was a Mega-piece-sh***, I freaking HATE that season 😡 I hated it so much that it makes me angry because they’re too hyped about setting up Rangers from old seasons but the problem is they never tell a good cohesive story around it and that makes Operation Overdrive a masterpiece, the 2017 theatrical reboot was a box office flop, and we only have 2 Power Rangers seasons of the post Disney seasons that are good like Dino Charge was loved by many, and Ninja Steel by many was okay.
It wasn't perfect. Just because the show was good doesn't mean that the brand was thriving. The only thing that Disney did to promote the brand was putting a car with six Rangers in a park and the Super Legends videogame, nothing else.
Speaking of G.I. Joe, we haven't gotten a cartoon of them in a long time. Glad we're getting toys again but would like a cartoon too. Idea for one: Cobra has taking over the world! And it's up to a resistance group of old and new characters to fight back! G.I. Joe: Resistance!
A Hasbro universe sounds super possible since G.I. Joe and Transformers are together in the new Skybound comics and adding Power Rangers wouldn't be that hard. It'd basically just replace Void Rivals' place from the Energon Universe.
But also... Hyperforce animated series?? 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Been a fan since 93 ❤🙌
Been a fan since on Jetix and Disney toon
Me too
Love the new intro, andre.
totally tubular my dudeeeeeeee
I would love to see them do something with the Sentai shows that weren't adapted for the American audience (Bioman, Jetman, Flashman, etc), and possibly not only get some sort of 4K remaster for them, but maybe also get some official English Dubbing for them as well!
Andre: "Oh? Oh this is a thing? We takin' a Toku and making it an animated thing?"
Me: "Um, we've been doing that for a while now? Netflix Ultraman series, SSSS.Gridman, Fuuto P.I...."
I've had this EXACT question in mind for years now. It almost feels like just as the brand is gearing up for a big game plan, they end up right back at the drawing board. I'm hoping something ends up shaking out soon!
Apparently the Hasbro CEO had big plans for power rangers when they bought the franchise, but after he passed away, the new CEO doesn't want to touch them. That's probably why it feels like you said.
@@MegabyteUnleashed that makes a ton of sense
Honestly, they should just go for an animated version of the comics to test the waters. I think an Xmen ‘97 but Power Rangers ‘93 people would eat that up
set it modern day so tired of the 90s
right. An animated series off the comic books would be great.
I wish they would listen to you. It's a no brainer now that you've said it. Pleases fans, while also bringing new people into the fold.
They did have plans for a animated MMPR show that was ultimately scrapped
As long as power rangers lives on in one shape or form I will be happy, may the power protect you as well.
I saw PR 2017 3 times in theaters. It was so good
Honestly a stop-motion PR would be pretty lit ngl.
As a fan of the original MMPR, honestly I’m tired of the constant redoing of that team. Although I haven’t watched all the power rangers series after the original, what would peak my interest is something new and fresh. Doesn’t need to be connected to anything. A new power rangers team, new characters, new zords, new story. Whether they borrow from recent sentai or not doesn’t matter either for me.
10:35 why not go back and get civilians from older seasons like light speed rescue or lost galaxy kids who said when I grow up I wanna be a ranger and have them introduced as new rangers idk
Always wondered why they never did they teased it but it never happened
That actually would be a cool idea!
@@BlackNerdComedyone of them I think Susie comes to mind from in space Carlos bonded with her
@@BlackNerdComedyI agree
@@madnessarcade7447 Also remember Heather from the LightSpeed Rescue Lost Galaxy Team Up! That would be dope. There's probably more kids around
I just wish they would do the big fancy reboot they want and also continue with the kids show with the traditional continuity
They just need to reimagine MMPR, but closer to how the comics reimagined it and not how the 2017 movie did.
The real issue is that there is no love or passion behind these mega corporations. We are far past the days of a creator solely owning and producing content with their own small company.
I was there opening weekend for Power Rangers 2017, still have my ticket stub to prove it. Loved it then, and I still love it now
I vote for the Power Rangers, Transformers, and GI Joe crossover.
Remember power rangers on nickelodeon
I remember Power Rangers on JETIX
Nickelodeon: "We've got to have MONEY. ...Meaning we only get the most money from SpongeBob, so we can't promote Power Rangers."
Underrated and wholesome and entertaining
Y’all are just bitter and hateful
Remember it on Fox Kids?
@@madnessarcade7447 Nickelodeon screwed us over by giving each season a hiatus eight episodes in, splitting the seasons into two, and not promoting it up the you-know-what like they always do for shows like SpongeBob and The Loud House. They didn't CARE about this IP. Even when Hasbro acquired the rights, the Nickelodeon era was still going!
Tubi would kinda make sense since they have the Super Sentai seasons compiled by Shout Factory on its site.
I agree that I'd love to see an animated series of Power Rangers, and I love the theory of having Power Rangers crossover with Transformers and GI Joe. That would be dope. I just also hope that what's still being done in Japan with Super Sentai keeps being referenced in some way, to keep that connection that started it all. Just keep making Power Rangers, that's all I ask!
Hear me out....Michael Bay does a Power Rangers movie. He loves explosions, he works with Paramount, and he has cool drone shots. Could be visually great. Just needs a good writer.
He would probably spend 20 minutes in the film explaining why a 40 year old man should be legally allowed to be in a relationship with a 15 year old girl though.
I think someone else should direct a movie. Someone different from him.
I'd love to see an animated series which would easier allow classic characters to come back. We totally need Bulk & Skull back, it's been too long, and animated would make this easier.
I honestly think at this stage of Power Rangers. It should all be animated. It will increase the possibilities of what this franchise can be. Without losing the original fans. Base on the comics would definitely help. Follow the anime route
yup
it took me 2 seconds to get the HBCU comment then i had to take a second to sit with it (super funny in context)
Animation would be an amazing direction for the series, it would be easier to coordinate legacy cast members coming on for cameos/team ups (plus a number of them went on to be VAs) , they could do more with the action and zords, plus it could bring in a larger audience as animation has become more mainstream lately.
I feel like if the main power rangers series isn't live action, it removes the toku roots and the toku vibe it had.
@@LiMe251That's a possibility, but it's possible to adapt a Toku series to 2D. It's worked for the Power Rangers comic and for SSSS. Gridman
@@isaacsanchez4769 The PR comic and SSSS. Gridman are adaptations of story and characters, Power Rangers is an adaptation of footage and costumes, there's a difference. Besides, one of the appeals of PR is wondering how footage could be adapted, if it is animated you don't get that. I'm perfectly fine with animation and films/shows made purely with original footage, but they need to coexist with the adaptations, as opposed to replacing them.
@@LiMe251 I agree with you, I hadn't meant that the series should abandon live action with Sentai clips. Moreso that an animated series would make for a good adaptation, especially for older fans
@@isaacsanchez4769 I would absolutely be fine with a Power Rangers animated series so long as they don't abandon their roots for the main live action series. I'm glad we came to an understanding.
I cant believe were not getting a new season of power rangers this year. Power rangers has been on every year of my life since I've been 1 years old, except for 2010 but at least they did a recap of season 1 that year. I never thought id see the day.😢
Here we go:
A television series for teens utilizing Sentai footage, which could be a fresh reboot featuring a world introduced to Power Rangers for the first time.
A television series that's a legacy series, more mature and continues the established (Saban, Disney, Hasbro) universe. Each season could have 5-to-7 eps, focusing on a team of the past, closing old plot holes, fighting new threats, etc.
An animated series using all previous teams, fighting new villains as a united front, think Justice League Unlimited... Power Rangers Legion.
We want more Sentai Adapted Seasons to come for the future of Power Rangers! For example, Raquel Fuentes said that Hasbro has accepted her email about the future of Power Rangers like they did with Savage Sal's and they agreed to do more Sentai Adapted Seasons for the future of the main series. So, I still go for Sentai Adaption just like in the good ol' days. Not all of us are okay with reboots, you know what I mean.
But what studio should buy the film and TV rights to Power Rangers now that the toy rights are at the hands of Playmates?
@@ryan8211982 probably netflix or amazon prime
I would love to get my hands on PR! & If I was the show runner? There would be a few line ups including the continuation of the sentai adaptions & a Once & Always series. Plus some extra projects later on. I wont get into the details, but they are intended to explore, expand & make things more complete.
I still wish it would continue, but there is a certain nice feeling to how things wrapped up, with Cosmic Fury and then an MMPR special to bookend it all. At least things have gone out on a high note for now. Still hoping Boom Studios continues on.
With the rumors that Hasbro, didn't want the IP. I wouldn't be surprise they eventually sell the franchise. If i own a studio have the money to buy the Power Rangers, i would do justice to the franchise.
Wish I had the coin to make it an animated series. The multi-verse that could be created is insane. I would follow the Boom studios formula. It works for young and old. Just think like, ninja turtles, Kendrix coming back as an actual ghost ranger, psycho rangers new forms/ upgrades, Origin stories of Divatox and Elgar's family, etc.. so good!
If Hasbro is thinking they want to appeal to adult fans as well as kids, I think the happy middle ground is to reboot MMPR and stick with that version for a few seasons, see where that goes. Keep the classic costumes, zords, bright colors, heavy metal music, etc. but give it a new cast of new, young original characters. Trying to recast all the OG characters would just have us comparing the new actors to the original cast and they won't live up to the nostalgia. Maybe introduce a new, sinister villain to make it fresh. No more Rita or Lord Zedd. And don't go too dark. Add some drama and compelling plot twists, like PR in Space did. But at the end of the day, this is Power Rangers. They don't have to go full cheesy, kiddy with the writing, but trying to make it some dark, brooding franchise is just ludicrous. It will never work, IMO.
Why not still have Astronema? But I strongly agree. I love the OG characters. But it’s time for characters that won’t be written off for behind the scenes reasons
Plot ideas for a legacy series: Min is at school after putting her Yellow Ranger on hiatus when a new teacher arrives at her school. The new teacher turns out to be a member of the Power Rangers Time Force and are looking for the Power Rangers as one of their own power rangers as been kidnapped and taken through time, causing multiple dimensional fractures. This sends the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on a new quest to find their missing Ranger. Along the way, we run into updated versions of the previous Power Rangers. TJ (Selwyn Ward) can switch between Blue Space Ranger and Red Turbo Ranger, Skye in SPD is the Red SPD Ranger, etc.
The villain is a new villain but controls previous villains. The Psycho Rangers also return as Generals of the Henchmen.
Boom! Call me Hasbro.
Power Ranger should start being its own thing instead of being adapted from Sentai. They can continue taking inspiration from Sentai, but I think it should stop there and no longer adapt anything straight from their shows. Make a Power Rangers series out of entirely original designs and ideas.
Extremely well said. It's sad that the netflix special was so great and there wasn't anything to follow up with it.
Saban: right now (insert man rubbing his hands behind a tree meme)
My question is why they're breaking their heads so hard about this? Is it because the money isn't so "easy" anymore?
Adapting Sentai would still be a given. Properly streaming Sentai subbed would be a given. Adapting the Comics into either Live Action or Animation would be a given. Adapting Hyperforce would be a given. Heck, even making a multiverse game line would be a given.
They're not even transparent with what the issues are. At least with Disney we knew it was that they thought the franchise was too violent back then. It can't be "it doesn't make money" because as a franchise its still one of the most lucrative things in the world. It's not Pokémon or Disney level, but like, in terms of making money, it's like a B-Lister that you can't tell me doesn't make money.
Personally, I'd love an animated Power Rangers series. We could really use more action cartoons, I'd say create a whole new thing, with little hints saying 'Yes, the original universe still exists and all your favorite characters exist, but we're doing our own thing, please just let us be our own thing.'
I suddenly want the Power Rangers Muppets show. Who would Kermit be best cast as? Hmm...
Kermit as green, obviously
Piggy as pink (same reason)
Gonzo as blue
Fozzie as yellow
Animal as red
Swedish Chef as white
Rowlf as black
And instead of Zords they have puppeteers.
Wow. I haven't seen one of your videos in a long time and i'm subscribed to you. Glad to see you're still Making videos
Animated series are a step in the right direction for the franchise and it's nuts that they haven't gone that route yet.
I think so too, being that it’s animated they can easily bring back past rangers and have them voiced by their respective actors as cameos, while the main cast will be voice actors.
I think you’re right. A Power Rangers anime voiced by some of the original actors throughout the series would be so dope! I think they should do a start off with shorts. Did they put as commercials for products and then go from there?
I'm sick of the other seasons besides MMPR getting the shaft. I like the other Tommy-centered teams as well. It's always MMPR.
You nailed it.
I’ve also been leaning towards the two audiences approach.
I’d like to see more specials like Once and Always and seasons like Cosmic Fury done by the the NZ team. Those are great balancing the “for kids” and long term fan wants.
Then do a new young adult film or series universe and try to reboot the brand for a new generation that way.
You joked about puppets and stop-motion but that'd be cool.
Actually I have a pitch, and anyobe at Hasbro you can take this one for free:
Make it stop motion with Hasbro action figures, like Robot Chicken but actually make it serious. It could have a kid playing with toys aesthetics a bit, but a big budget version of that. The kids after watching it can just go to the store and buy the figures from the movie, not toy versions of them, but the actual same figure that was aninated on the screen.
Robert Rodriguez talked about how he used Star Wars toys to storyboard Mando action scenes, and I want that vibe. Actually, bring Robert Rodriguez into this. Make a character focused toy stop motion with highly cinematic and thrilling action scenes.
That stop motion look is in too, and even being applied to video games.
So much for those 60hz+ monitors.
I would love a live action of the shattered grid comics, almost like a tribute to Jason, RIP. Like I loved the short trailer thing he did on UA-cam I’d love to see more of something like that if it were at all possible
If we dont get a transformers/power rangers crossover movie that has optimus become the center of the megazord for a final battle...no...we need that, the world needs that.
Shattered Grid animated series/movie would blow up.
No thanks... failure
I need Power Ranger content from the Disney era NOW!!! That period had so many good seasons but they're being neglected😭
It is a shame Netflix took them down. I know they are on DVD but that is an expensive option.
@@dantheman8103 i didn't even realise netflix got rid of them😫

"Or Go watch Hyperforce" 🤣🤣🤣 Meanwhile, TokuJay is killing it with 3D redesigns of the Hyperforce Rangers. The Ranger Buddies recently featured. Hope you saw your amazing re:Power version of Hyperforce Blue.
The way that the Transformers, GI Joe, Power Rangers, and MLP tabletop RPGs all use the same system and even encourage crossover play (theres a whole book with info on how to do like an Autobot who's a Zord, a Power Ranger Joe squad, etc) I'd be surprised if we don't see them play with that in movies or something eventually.
I would love to see two things. One a full on reboot of the continuity and them do a live action series with potential movies. Do it similar to the way the 2017 movie did it, have it be a little mature. I would also love to see them to an animated series that adapts the Boom Comics.
Animation could be great. It’s what I’d go for. The limitless possibilities of action sequences they could create is amazing.
If there's no more Seasons of Series or Movies, following the time-line history this Decade takes place with SPD now.
When it comes to a huge crossover thing with GI Joe and Transformers, that's what Renegade games did with the Essence20 ttrpg system and it works surprisingly well.
Honestly if I were them I would go almost fully original. Just use the Super Sentai suits with completely original footage. That way they could even use past suits from older Super Sentai while telling new stories that fit their continuity. Also I don’t know why people are treating the series as if it has to have two different demographics. Just have it be more family oriented instead of being purely aimed at kids. In other words, just make it TV-PG instead of TV-Y or TV-Y7. That way it can be slightly more mature while still accessible to everyone. In other words, similar to Super Sentai.
Maybe with how successful once a ranger was they’ll let David Yost make a mini series like he wanted or a animated or live version of Amy Jo’s comic story
Correct me if I am wrong, but I heard that the original Hasbro CEO had plans for the Rangers; however, they met an untimely death and now the rest of Hasbro leadership doesn't know what to do with it
I literally had the exact same idea they should just go with paramount and cross over with transformers/GI Joe 😂😂😂 I cannot believe we came up with the same idea
I need Lost Galaxy, Lighspeed, and Time Force to get some love. Can we please!!!
a more mature animated power rangers series or movie that continues the stories of previous ranger teams voiced by those original rangers is the way to go
I wish the Power Rangers franchise would return and to adapt the Boonboomger season.
Awesome job Andre drops like
We need to tweet and viral to make it happen. Yes, I did follow the Sentai series but love Power Rangers. As international fan, hope we can tweet so that it will go viral
The New Mighty Morphin Team basically being the next generation? Since you got Minh and mention of J.J... I mean, could be possible?
Although, I would love if the BOOM Studio did their take on Forever Red, but make it a big storyline, an operation to permanently destroy Serpenterra, like all the ranger teams discover and destroy/disable/disrupt all these bases that lead to repair, power and upgrade the BBEG, once every objective is completed, than every Red Ranger from Mighty Morphin to Cosmic Fury (and possible descendants for those that have passed away, Rest in Peace Jason David Frank and Pua Magasiva) engage in the final battle with Serpenterra and its pilot, be a BIG CGI fight but it would be a really big storyline
I was there in 2017!! I loved that movie since it came out! I STILL want a sequel to it! It deserved so much better!
Such a well spoken and well made video Andre!! You hit all the important points and yet again succeed at being the voice of the fans. Hope your thoughts and ideas reach Hasbro and in a perfect world follow through with some of these ideas. Keep killing it!
As long as this franchise stays alive, there’s interesting future possibilities. As long as people can decide how they could evolve it. :p Or whoever has the decision power to do so.
Hyperforce is my favorite season 😎 Cool to see your perspective regarding power ranger's current state. I share your opinion, we all have to gather together and tell hasbro or whoever JUST! DO IT!
First and foremost thank you very much for giving this topic the attention and respect that it truly deserves and I strongly want Power Rangers to continue and to make money again and to reach more people across the world. I’m all for doing a few different things but I’m not on board with shared hasbro verse right now because I never liked the idea of Power Rangers having a connection to either the government or a corporation. However I would never say that it’s a bad idea to link it up with Transformers but I just don’t like the concept of a possible connection with either government or military forces. That’s the problem that comes up in my mind when I consider the hasbro verse idea. However a lot of your other ideas are fantastic and I really appreciate your enthusiasm and your passion here. I have a lot of amazing ideas myself and I hope that maybe someday I could share them with the right people who could help make them popular and bring the franchise back! Thank you again for sharing your perspective on this topic and showing off such strong enthusiasm! This was one of the better responses I’ve heard on the current situation! Go go power rangers! Thank you very much Andre!
It’s nice to see someone be optimistic about Power Rangers. Everywhere I look it’s doom and gloom (given reason.)
One of the things that bothers me the most is that Lighting Collection is on pause. They had so many teams that weren’t even done.
What Black Nerd said about the 2017 reminds me of Andrew Garfield and ASM 3.
A hundred percent agree about starting over with the hasbroverse and hear me out.....gi joe takes transformers Tech to develop new "power suits" and somehow these suits bond to civilian teenagers (maybe young adults) and they become the power rangers
Honestly I hope they continue to build off the lore. There is so much. Little 6 episode seasons doing an arc focusing on 1 team or teamups. Easy to do focusing on a singular threat happening like in cosmic fury. Companion pieces to a new team series which is like 20 episodes split into 2 parts plus a Halloween and holiday special
The Power Rangers that I grew up with was Dino thunder, and SPD
I don't want a dark reboot. Or anything at all I just want the series to have kept going with better choreography and better quality. Kids I knew were in love with power rangers and it should be made for those kids. I'll still watch it even if it's childish because children love it. But nobody in corporate wants that. Or even power rangers own fans.
Honestly, we need a project Super Sentai x Powers Rangers RIGHT NOW.
Imagine if Power Rangers meets Zyuranger and fights together...
Tommy learns how to be a great warrior from Burai.
Jason fights side by side with Geki.
Zack annoying Goushi with his goofy personality.
Billy exchanges knowledge of their lore with Dan.
Trini is excited to see Boi, her yellow counterpart as a male.
Kim adores Mei like a long-lost sister.
And Bandora & Rita team-up.
Animation is the way to go imo.
You can do anything you want without having to make suits or zords, and you can bring back previous actors without making them do stunts and squeeze back into the suit.
I also really don’t want a crossover. It’s just too much.
Cobra Commando and Rita Repulsa teaming up with the Decepticons is a fascinating concept.
Man now you got me excited about a crossover. They could do it in a way that connects Transformers with Zords. Like Maybe Zordon played a part in how Cybertron fell or he caused the civil war. I don't know, the Power Rangers franchise is the franchise you think is done but never really goes away. Even Saban doesn't know what he wants to do.
I love this video. I love your energy. I think that they should adapt the boom studios comics into an animated thing like the mentioned altraman because it looks dope and I think it would appeal to most fans if done right. (I've never read the comics so I'm not sure)(where can I read the comics? (Preferably online) Lol)
I dont know if people want to hear this, but the fact this latest series has ended after 31 years with little fanfair and the General Public not really noticing says ALOT. Almost any show ending after 31 deserves some fan fare, but it does not seem to have had any.
I think what the franchise needs is a "soft reboot." Power Rangers has hit the point that all franchises of its kind occasionally hit where they just have too much story and too much history bogging it down for companies to pick up out of fear of 'ruining it' for fans. A soft reboot that allows all previous Power Ranger history to be canon but establish its own material and rules going forward is probably the best way for a company to pick it up and turn it into a modern franchise.
I keep saying soft reboot even before all this happened!
I'm down for a hasbro cinematic universe if it has power rangers in it
If it were me, I'd try to hit both markets:
Keep the Sentai footage show for the kids, but make an animated series for more mature audiences. Kinda like Invincible levels of action, the material is there for it. And for the heck of it, I'd make it connected universe by only a few shared characters, just cause I like chaos a little bit.
one thing I'd love to see if them adapting some of the shorter comic stories in live action. Give us one of the Legend teams, or even one that was skipped over and have them make some references to older teams
Power rangers, transformers, and gi Joe cross over sounds lit
Okay Andre I like your idea about blending power Rangers into the transformers/gi joe universe just reminded me of power Rangers light speed rescue so why not use that series for a new jumping on ponit
