Once they announced “no more Sentai adaptations” I knew this wouldn’t go well. But I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and I’m still hopeful for them to come through. But, they have to admit, Sentai adaptations are better and easier. Going full on 100% original just takes more time and more money.
I agree!!! At first I was on board with moving away from the senati adaptations but now I think that is a mistake. The Sentai adaptations could serve as the foundation. I like having original footage but also understand them wanting to move away from sentai adaptations.
Yeah I agree because in 2010 they was no power rangers on television only mmpr revision, until 2011 adapt shinkenger as samurai
Well, it's too late:
They made this decision and now they have to live with it!!
Well, it's too late. They are no longer adapting anymore future Sentai shows going forward
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw At least we... the fans can make our own. Just look at some of the fan series we have now.
Maybe it's due to creative differences.
But I'm glad that the Netflix PR remake series is canceled because I don't trust Hasbro.
The whole reboot thing is so frustrating. While I get being nervous given the 2017 film’s failure, if they really wanted to be fully original then they’d have to spend the money on this reboot. Instead they cheeped out because it was too expensive.
I don’t know if they would have continued adaptations or not. They probably would have given it’s the cheaper option. I’m hoping whoever does get the show rights does keep them going for the child audience. While making a higher budget one for older audiences.
The only thing now is waiting to see who will buy it. Because Playmates is gonna want some media to tie in with their toys.
Like what did they expect. Tokusatsu as a genre is really expensive to create content for. Even without mechas, it's still not cheap. 20+ episodes, 10+ actors and stuntman, writers, cameraman, directors, costume designers, editors, and many more people working in the background on the show that need to be compensated.
Ya I think Hasbro just made promises, that they couldn't keep like quality of a show. I also wonder if we would just get the Netflix style of which only has 10-15 episodes a season.
I feel still feel like Netflix was not the place they should’ve put it max or peacock should’ve got it but if max got it they could’ve delayed aired it on Cartoon Network and got more eyes on it instead of locking the show behind a paywall on Netflix and Netflix is known to kill shows that don’t preform well but they don’t do any promotion for their content they just try and rely on word of mouth and that doesn’t always work
@@hailthequeenFMexactly. Unless they have Holywood financing then, it's a NO GO
Hey, I know this might sound out of the blue, but would anyone like to hear my ideas for a ToQger adaptation? You don't have to, but it'd be nice if you did. I need to talk to people as I need people to say nice things about me in the community for once.
It is what it is, me personally I'll just look forward to Playmates toyline in the meantime until there's another official word on who's gonna be in charge of the live action stuff.
if Playmates release a new Green Ranger helmet and master Morpher and there actually good
I will worship them
The new Hasbro CEO has to go! Because this is getting ridiculous.
And now we’re seeing more evidence of Transformers Reactivate getting cancelled.
Same
HE HAS TO GO
Was too dark for Power Rangers. They wanted to go that TDK route and it backfired. Cannot expect to make anything a carbon copy of Batman, not gonna work. Even cast from original MMPR didnt like this film adaption. Best PR movie that came out was 1995's MMPR:The Movie.
Who are you to tell him to go? You are not his boss
Probably because Netflix didn’t want another bomb.
Technically it wouldn’t bomb since it’s a streaming service the only way it would bomb if the streaming service itself bombs when people cancels subscriptions
I don’t understand why Hasbro is so worried about PR flopping, I swear they keep talking about focusing on Transformers and Gi Joe, but not a single soul can tell me Gi Joe has more pull or is more popular and well known than power rangers. A good PR show for an older audience if marketed right could be pretty big. The power rangers brand is recognisable, people say only MMPR is marketable but that is not true, any time there is a group of colourful spandex or armoured suits people go oh it looks like power rangers. Netflix was the perfect platform because at the very least people would check it out if it looked cool, they didn’t have to go to the movies or anything.
I really don’t think hasbro intentionally killed power rangers cause that’s stupid, but I don’t get how they’ll do nothing to with it and then act surprised when it doesn’t pull in the numbers they thought it would. Like maybe if you actually advertised the thing people would actually know about it dude.
They pretty much set it up for a new generation with Once and Always. Had they done an MMPR season instead of Cosmic Fury since they were going to have Billy anyways they could’ve had Minh return and explored each of the OG rangers finding a successor be it their kids or someone close to them. We could’ve had the original rangers complaining about being busy and how their bodies are starting to ache and how they aren’t as flexible as they used to be with similar jokes to Ghostbusters 3 and 4 like Ray: “I don’t remember this job being so painful.” Winston: “I do” type of dialogue.
They could’ve stuck to CGI Megazords. Also could have implemented things from the comics. Maintain it being darker since Once and Always would pretty much serve as their intro to the new show sorta like a Free Comic Book Days Issue #0 and it started with the death of a ranger. Pass the torch with Billy finding his replacement last after they find a way to bring Zordon back. The whole Master Zedd and Evil wave plot could’ve remained. We would have had a team of new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the return of Zordon and them fighting Lord Zedd while Billy serving as their mentor.
Future seasons could see new zords and upgrades to the MMPR suits. Sorta like how the comics keep the core concept of MMPR the same and intact but change things around it here and there. The comics found a way to maintain the MMPR Brand Recognition while introducing new suits like the Omega Rangers, new villains like Death Ranger or Lord Drakkon, new Zords and combinations like the DragonTigerZord. Hasbro’s problem is a lack of direction and care for the series because if you look at the comics and the merch spawned off ideas that originate in the comics you can see how it could have been done right. The difference is the comics are made by fans for fans and Hasbro just doesn’t give a shit about it and it shows.
Actually, the comic by Amy Jo Johnson is a much, much better blueprint then Once & Alway!!
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw No it's not, it's for edgelords, not the audience we're aiming for, and Amy's boyfriend wrote the majority of that comic and she took the credit
@@cheapfinish6224 is that right? Then she LIED about being the comic's author and writer!
It sounds like that Hasbro is too afraid to change the formula of PR even though the change could be bennifietical in a way
Man this is story is getting messy every day. I feel that Power Rangers needs to rebrand itself. One of the reasons I love the Disney era was because from Ninja Storm to RPM, each season felt unique and different. From the theme songs, characters and world building each season stood on their own while capturing the core essence of the Power Rangers brand. After Saban purchased it back it went downhill fast and lost it's sense of identity. Dino Charge and Beast Morphers were good seasons that felt like a breath of fresh air. I think Power Rangers needs to go back to the drawing board. What company is going to give it a fresh coat of paint? That's the question. 🤔
HABSRO REALLY FUMBLED THE BAG WITH POWER RANGERS!
if hasbro were smart, theyd adapt boom studios stuff
Hasbro brutally mismanaged the toyline and obviously halfassed the reboot. Maybe the time for it is just over.
Hasbro did the unthinkable, they got Power Rangers cancelled for good. Ya'll still think Saban and Disney were bad owners?
True I mean Hasbro really has no clue on how to release new TV shows. They could make new power rangers and not tie them to the old one. They don't even need the reboot.
Yes, they are and still are to this day
I thought Disney did a pretty good job, some of my favorite seasons came from that era
@@connormarchand6302 No matter how good a series is, except for Operation Overdrive most consider in the middle, Disney was doing everything they could to cancel PR.
@@jennings861b8Well they didn't do a good job, considering they did much better with the property compared to Saban.
Can people please talk about this, on all social media platforms, and beg Marvel Studios to buy some Superheroes? Honestly, they're the only ones, I think, who could put them back on top and it would get a ton of attention. It's not like there isn't some history connected with Marvel, Toei, Super Sentai and Power Rangers (by association).
Hasbro should have use the Dairanger suits for the Power Rangers reboot season, making new Ranger suits base on the Zyuranger suits doesn't work at all.
These agreements and discussions are made way ahead of time and there is no way Netflix didn't know about cosmic fury and once and always. It sounds like Netflix didn't like the change of direction of the reboot since they agreed on one thing and they started doing something different.
I'm thinking best case is either full reboot with MMPR reboot, Once and Always continuation, or just adapt Ranger Academy-even if its just the basic concepts that comic lays down with completely different characters or something. I had a dream when I was younger and when we got Kyuranger assumed it would be related to that series adaption, or possibly memories of a past life of someone who worked on In Space/Lost Galaxy that passed before they were finished or before Lightspeed production. I have a similar feeling with M*A*S*H as well as I always saw it on, maybe decided to put it on for 5 seconds once, but there was still something I felt was more familiar than expected with both before I knew really anything about M*A*S*H, In Space, and Lost Galaxy and even before Kyuranger existed. The human mind is weird
Or just let it die and let it revert to Toei now and forever
How about no MMPR?
@@TheFLAMEXD yeah, and maybe, just maybe, start with say, the Omega or HyperForce Rangers as the new, rebooted team
@MatthewLoh-ru1mw I'd say adapt Kingohger instead.
@@TheFLAMEXD maybe. But that depends on IF the new producer or team wants to adapt anything from Japan after the deal expired
Once Jason passed that was the start to the end. Once Jason plead guilty that seal faith of the franchise.
They gave us the 30th anniversary the tittle was the telling on the wall.
“Once and Always”
Wow I didn't even realize that was the sign
@@abieledwards5163 For me it was.
How meta that title was.
I think THE Most likely yo buy Hasbro is Paramount, & let the People Behind Knuckles make it's own Power Rangers Reboot with a High Budget.
Now, Paramount and Skydance are merged into one.
THEY SHOULD GO BACK TO SENTAI ADAPTATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like whoever gets to make the show, if they feel like power rangers has a negative image, take that as a challenge not a punishment. Go out there and change the perception, make it something great.
If the reboot's too hard to make original then make it like they've always made it with Sentai footage but just make the filmed parts less comical and more serious.
I think Bandai and Toei should buy the brand and work with a new company here in the US and make Power Rangers a cinematic universe with Legendary Pictures, New Line Cinema or Fox.
netflix have exclusive rights to pokemon.......i look at the BBC who have it too :P (ok granted the pokemon deal with the BBC is a bit different as it also contains agreements for a scottish dub produced by the bbc)
Well that sure clarifies things, if that is true. Personally I'd be interested in a Next Gen MMPR Series, It would promote MMPR but also the recourses [suits, sets, etc.] are available to make original footage. That said it has to have stuff that is worth watching. Like combining elements from all 3 seasons of MMPR for e.g. Man I want to rant about the negative views from Hasbro, the general public & the toxic fans. But bugger it, I can save that for another time. Right now, its good to get some insight on the matter.
No thank you. We have had more than enough MMPR stuff to last a lifetime and frankly, we do not need any more.
@@TheFLAMEXD It doesn't matter what you or others want, They're gonna promote MMPR till the cows come home. I'm just hoping IF & WHEN they make more MMPR, that its worth looking into. Other wise I'd look forward to another sentai adaption.
In the long run it's probably for best
WE TOOK SABAN AND NICKELODEON FOR GRANTED!
THE REBOOT WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO WOKE!
I'm thinking this is comparible to the Transformers movie-verse;
Power rangers can't make up its mind about what it wants to be, tried to be more creative, goes downhill from trying too hard until both the fans AND the IP give up and quit.
Power Rangers was KILLED IN DEVELOPMENT HELL!!! is it Nomad
wish disney would buy Power rangers and put it on disney plys
After witnessing TOEI Japan released two King-Ohger crossovers and a DekaRanger 20th reunion, Hasbro called it quits. The agreement after SAG-AFTRA strike didn't help either, most veterans were likely didn't care or coming back, and they will always end up in toxic gatherings at fan events.
I'm a Sentai man myself now as Hasbro has proven they aren't good enough to do right and I tell people to not bother with the franchise and to go to the source instead.
What, again? 0:28
It good things 😌
SEE THE NICKELODEON ERA WASN'T TOO BAD PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Power Rangers has been dead for a long time. I got a feeling their moving on
Hasbro might let the IP Rot, & Revert it back to Toei.
I think they already are!
Super Sentai is better as Super Sentai, Kamen Rider is better as Kamen Rider,
and PreCure is better as PreCure. I feel like localised adaptations just no longer have any reason to exist anymore.
@@Kromiball exactly. Adaptation have long since become irrelevant
Power rangers already had its chance on Netflix and it failed Dino fury failed to capture causal audience when it transferred to Netflix same with cosmic fury once and always brought back some fans on a smaller scale souly because of mmpr nostalgia power rangers keeps finding away to dig a deeper hole in pop culture irreverencey power rangers will never reach the glory it did in the 90s mmpr boom wasn’t just a kids tv show boom it was a pop culture boom and sadly power rangers couldn’t keep that boom

your cope is cringe kidf
@@cheapfinish6224 who even are you? It’s not cope, it’s just fact. Dude shows no proof and everyone’s eating it up because they’re desperate for news good or bad.
We need official confirmation
The day that Power Rangers goes fully “original” is the day I migrate completely over to Super Sentai.
Then you might as well do so!
I disagree on you when it comes to Power Rangers without Super Sentai. To me, that feels wrong. Completely wrong.
The American production don't have the Japanese creative to go over the top and instead they focus on woke...
Nothing "woke" about it. There are legitimate issues with Power Rangers and how the property is being handled, but "woke" is nothing to do with it. You're not welcome here, please get out.
Netflix cancelled it because it would've ended up like The Acolyte from Disney Star Wars.
Meaning what?
Saban should buy it back. I don't care what anyone else thinks. Saban needs to buy it back.
Saban's post-2011 seasons were the worst. Nobody should listen to you.
@@cheapfinish6224 You're opinions suck. Why should I listen to you.
No they shouldn't. They already tried to do it again and they failed. Big time.
@@TheFLAMEXD They did not fail. PR was very successful with Saban
@@TridentMaid39XXThey were INTIALLY. But when they got the rights back during the 2010s, they didn't do a good job of Power Rangers.
Everybody, post vid destroying your transformers and marvel/dc stuff
I’m still in shock of these developments. I would have wanted to see a Once & Always sequel tying up Billy’s story of reviving Zordon. And Minh finding new teammates to pass on the Mighty Morphin powers to under Zack’s guidance. Until this all blows over, I refuse to accept defeat. I felt the potential the legacy could go. I just want Hasbro to surprise me with who their new partner is.
Yeah great commentary about Jin’s reporting. I think the only thing that doesn’t track for me is that Once and Always/Cosmic Fury were served up as a replacement for the reboot idea? Like I thought the point of those two releases were to make sure there was content for the 30th Anniversary, while the reboot idea was cooking in the background. But that doesn’t seem to be the case, and i was starting to get skeptical when things wrapped in NZ, but there was no infrastructure put in place to move into place as soon as CF ended. So maybe deal collapses earlier than expected, and OA/CF was picked to gauge interest in keeping with the traditional style idk lol
I feel like the best move now is bring back adaptation series and while that goes on slowly plan a reboot movie and hopefully that does well and then they could do more original movies while having adaptation series, best of both worlds
I agree! You all know what Raquel Fuentes said to me when she sent Hasbro her email just like what Savage Sal did, they accepted it and agreed to do more Sentai Adapted Seasons for the future of Power Rangers. Sentai Adaptation-1, Reboot-zip
I’m completely in favor of super sentai being adapted as Power Rangers again. I’m still waiting on that Power Rangers and transformers crossover, though.
We tried that in 2017 no one watched jt
@@Deity_devil Doesn't mean they can't try again
@@vortexalliance9938didn't you SEE the report by Jinsaku? Hasbro got scared and worried when the 2917 movie BOMBED and didn't want to repeat that mistake again
I understand being discouraged by the 2017 movie's lack of success(Not that box office sales are aways an indicator of quality mind you, because reminder; most of the beloved movies of all time were box office bombs, But that's a different conversation.) But this whole situation behind the scenes just feels like a mess. And it just gives me this impression that Power Rangers is just this cursed brand that's just doomed to be passed around to multiple rights holders like a game of hot potato. It just, the future is just feeling more and more uncertain for the franchise.
It’s a very interesting time to be a power rangers fan
Agreed
No, it's NOT
"The show is dead" is interesting to you?
@@cheapfinish6224 I don’t know that power rangers is dead
Dosm, thank you for sharing all these updates. What a tire fire.
If there not going to release a new power rangers, give netflix the hole library of power rangers to hold people until you decide what to do with the franchise
Have u been living under a rock I’m pretty sure the official pr channel has the whole library currently
@@Deity_devil see how you had to tell them that it was on youtube? that's the problem. If it was all back on Netflix like when it was airing on Nick, more people would know about it
@@Flame_Blazikensearching for stuff isn’t hard. Just type power rangers on UA-cam and you will find every season.
You think they will do that? NO!
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mw Probably not but all it really takes is for them to flip a switch and enable it all back on the platform because they had already put it all there once before and Netflix doesn't erase their copies of the stuff in case one day they get the rights back to air it. It happened with the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited cartoons so it's not impossible
it should never go to Amazon because Amazon would force DEI into it, also, hasbro will still cut all ties with super sentai and toei next year, hasbro won't sell the IP to anyone
What's DEI?
@@AshNonokPlays Diversity Equity Inclusion. This fucker is just using as a buzzword to be mad about diversity in media. Which is dumb because PR always consists of a diverse cast.
How about Apple instead?
@@AshNonokPlays diversity equity (equality not sure which one) and inclusion, its a complicated issue and its hard to explain but the gist of it its a thing to have more minorities in the industry like gaming and not just have every character be a white. it is used by the right wing to fear monger to white people that they are in danger when they aren't

Yes, it is
I guesss cosmic fury was the end of pr
Duh, it is
@@MatthewLoh-ru1mwNo I mean the actual END outside of merchandise not to end to the continuity even tho it it
@@Deity_devil oh, sorry
So a wrapped up version of everything: seems like maybe only a few people at Hasbro were REALLY into PR. I think they had an initial plan, but COVID and already skeptics within the company put a plug in some plans, and it caused a snowball effect of I guess PR being the annoying little brother at Hasbro. Also, I think it's safe to admit that Hasbro got cheap at some point with PR. Toys, merch, show, and now even with the reboot. At this point, idk who would want PR. Maybe HBO might be interested? We'll see
Nope. HBO only wants to do their owned IPs and DC shows and movies
I don't think they mean the reboot itself was going to be similar to what we got before. From what I can tell. Hasbro pitched the reboot movie, but they weren't ready, so they made Dino Fury, Once and Always, and Cosmic Fury. Alongside the movie changing to a series. Then Netflix got upset because they thought they were getting a reboot universe, but they only got the same kid stuff.
Yeah. As long as the teinvisioning wasn't re_making classic characters. Completely new teams was a great idea, as was leaving the sentai mater behind. They haven't done well lately adating sentai footage with the tone of their stories.
I don't think leaving Super Sentai behind was a good move. Both of them are so linked with each other that it would feel wrong to abandon it. Power Rangers and Super Sentai are two sides of a coin.
hasbro just does not know what to do with power rangers.
So much for the Power Rangers reboot on Netflix.
