@@Mason11717 Hey! I didn't record a GPS file this trip, but it's very straightforward from the campsite. You continue up the hill past the lake where you get water, and go up the gully. Then just scramble up the, and skirt around the opposite side (side of the mountain that's further away from applebee) then go up another (looseish) gully to reach the summit.
Normally I hate these type of videos but this is tolerable! No stupid music, no over dramatization. No fish eye lens. No stupid antics or asinine narration. Just a competent person going about his business. Well done. Maybe the first UA-camr I’ve seen that it looks like I’d be happy to do a trip with.
Wow! Lots of work to setup the camera, walk away, return, pick up the camera, and repeat. The resulting footage is clearly a few notches above the other videos taken with a handheld cam or mounted on the helmet. Some of the angles were very deliberate and the framing was very cinematic. The opening forest scene's lighting was very dramatic. Simply amazing! Thank you.
There's porcupines in the parking lot that like to eat the salt off your tires and brake lines! The chicken wire keeps them out, and it's pinned down by logs and rocks
Thanks! It was the massdrop 40L, but I've since moved on to the Moment Strohl 45L backpack. www.shopmoment.com/products/strohl-mountain-light-45l-backpack
There’s tire/brake line eating porcupines I the area. The chicken wire keeps them out! I’d recommend packing extra chicken wire if you go there on a weekend, they might run out at the parking lot!
It's the Kathadyn BeFree water filter! It's decent but it can get clogged pretty easily after a few trips. I've unclogged it successfully by soaking in water/white vinegar overnight.
WOW! Brandon. Would you like to share details such as how long it took for you to reach the tent location, then summit? Also, it would be nice if you provide your tent manufacturer name and other cooking stuff that you use. Thank you.
Thanks John! There's rubber eating porcupines in the area. At the parking lot they have a big pen with chicken wire in it, you can use rocks to pin it around your tires to keep them out
Thank you! There’s rubber/brake line eating porcupines in the area. There’s a big pen of chicken wire/sticks and rocks in the parking lot to help protect your car from them. It’s been busy in the past few years though, so I’d recommend bringing your own if you’re going on a weekend!
Hi rickrayn! The one I did was pretty much the easiest hike in the Bugs. Almost everyone just scrambles this route, it's considered a rest/rainy day hike. The hike up to the campsite is basically a walk, similar to the Chief in Squamish but it's a very scenic one and worth doing!
They're the Arcteryx Sullivan Pants, I got them for 30 bucks at a warehouse sale. Wouldn't recommend though, they only lasted 2 seasons before ripping at the crotch!
FYI, BC Parks has removed the free chicken wire to wrap your vehicle that they used to keep at the parking lot. Make sure to bring some of your own!
Looking to make a trip out there it would be sick if you could give me your route map or beta for the Eastpost

@@BCHiking ok sweet thanks and can it be done in a long day?
Car to car
@@Mason11717 Yeah it wouldn't be unreasonable to do so! The drive in is about an hour from the highway though, so make sure to factor that in too

Appreciate the kind words!
love the work you put into these!
Beautifully shot and edited; the scenery isn’t too bad either.
Truly epic. Glad I came upon this channel. Be safe out there!
Absolutely stunning and beautiful. Your videos are amazing.
Deadly! Safe scrambling!!
Looking forward to see more of your videos.Quiet..Peaceful music no talking all the time..
More to come!
Very well done..thank you!
Glad you liked it!
What's up with the logs and rocks around the vehicles in the parking lot??

Hats off to your efforts to make these videos solo... keep it upp!!!!
Thanks! Got a few more planned for this year
Great job
Wow, the views from up and around the mountain are absolutely amazing!
Yeah! I'm going back to the Bugaboos this year, should be finding even better views this time
Nice work !
did this spire back in July this summer and was still filled with snow up at Cain hut. beautiful place!
It was an unusually late snowpack this year!
AT what point were you using the rope for this scramble? Awesome shots, looking to do the Bugaloo's this spring
Was going to use it to rappel the BS col for pigeon but ended up not using it at all and just did this hike instead
Sick content man, I feel like I am right beside you!
this guy makes it look so easy! Thanks B! Love all your videos man!
Thank you!
Great video as always. My hands have never been sweatier though!
They’re going to get a lot sweatier in some of the videos I have planned for this year
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Loved this. What backpack are you using? Thx!

Why do all of the vehicles, in the beginning, have small logs perched against their tires and back bumpers?

@@BCHiking holy crap.
Very well shot. Gave me some crazy vertigo
It was pretty exposed most of the way up!
U need more views damn
Love your content!
lovely video! would you please recommend some easy scramble routs there? i'll do this one mid of Aug. for sure!
This one is probably the best scramble in the bugs!
Next Alex Honnold!
Why do all the vehicles in parking lot have sticks put against them?
Brake line eating porcupines in the area
Omg how you film this by solo, so amazing 😍😍😍😍
Can someone explain why all the cars parked in the opening scene have sticks leaned against them? What does this protect from or accomplish?
They're there to prevent the brake line eating porcupines from wrecking your car. I believe they're attracted to the road salt on the bottom.
@@BCHiking Ah. OK. Good to know.
is this trail on alltrails? I want to see the map! thanks !
There should be a trail map to the Applebee campground. The trail is pretty easy to follow once you're there, it's the peak directly above!
Hello, how do you climb with such massive balls? Asking for a friend
Hi mate, what water filter are you using there? Thanks
It's the Kathadyn BeFree water filter! It's decent but it can get clogged pretty easily after a few trips. I've unclogged it successfully by soaking in water/white vinegar overnight.

Added to the description!
Thank you. Appreciate it.
Awesome! I like your style. What's going on in that parking lot?
Thanks John! There's rubber eating porcupines in the area. At the parking lot they have a big pen with chicken wire in it, you can use rocks to pin it around your tires to keep them out
Love your videos, man. Beautiful, inspiring stuff. Btw, why are there sticks propped against each vehicle in the opening scene?

Many thanks to the bc taxpayers for flying your poop out. I'm ok with that as long as people pay for their own poop. Nice video
Only $10 a night to have your poop flown out! Worth it in my eyes
I strive to do this one day. Just alone with nature.
Update: I did what I said. Can’t wait to do more of this stuff as summer approaches
Have never been there. Not much into climbing anymore but was wondering if there would be some hiking or low level scrambling in the area.

insane footage. is it good to go nowadays?
I think it usually clears up in late June/July. It was good to go a bit earlier last year from the heatwave!
What time of the year was this? July?
Yes, it was July of last year. The heatwave had melted the snow significantly more than most years however.
@@BCHiking I'll be there this Saturday :)
@@MrMerajjio Awesome! Let me know the condition of the BS Col when you get back, I'm planning on heading there near the end of July
