  • EAGLE MOUNTAIN 638M, SHANLIEVE 626M, SLIEVEMOUGHANMORE 559M, PIGEON ROCK MOUNTAIN 533M, COCK MOUNTAIN 505M, HEN MOUNTAIN 354M .THESE six mountains are in the country which is sometimes referred to as the `back of the mournes` the inland part of mountains away from the more popular north and east.EAGLE with its cliffs and rich flora is a rewarding climb and offering stunning views. 6 MOUNTAINS , DISTANCE 14 KM, WALKING TIME 7 HOURS

    I'm always impressed by your pace Patrick. Once had to attend a van breakdown halfway up the initial track. They were camping.

    thanks for a positive comment .I was on the top of Cock Mountain late evening and i come back to the leitrim lodge car park in the darkness but it was worth it. Sunset visible from Cock Mountain.

    Patrick - I climbed Eagle mountain by the same route you took over 40years ago. I can still clearly remember the bog between it and Pierces Castle being horrendous, hence I've never been back! Was it 'difficult' to traverse the day of this video? (Question is open to anyone). Thanks for another enjoyable video.

      I agree. It was the most horrible place on the whole route of the walk.
