Great video! I've been wanting to see what the Eagle Mountain cliffs were like and there's very little footage of them. When I went there last month I approached from completely the opposite direction.. (the wrong direction)
How did we ever cope without mobile phones and emails?...peace of mind is how we coped.!! Lovely footage of the Mournes once again. Yup get that crag fpveeeed !!
Another beautiful, but looney offering Stephen. More great shots, and brilliant edits. All that wit, and creativity, no wonder you have a lot of work on - looks well deserved. Thanks for making the effort to share the gorgeous Mournes. Just had an enormous thunder storm here in London. I hope it dampened the fire risk in regions west of us too. Keep running 😃
Thanks Jac, was channelling my finest English accent at the start there 😅😛 Yeah we’ve had a lot more rain since so hopefully once the new summer growth comes up that’ll reduce the risk again. Keeping running! Thanks 🙂🙂🙂
I'm well jel, haven't been up the Mournes since doing Doan in October. I've done Pigeon, which has a really interesting summit, and look out for the half carved millstone halfway up.You've made we want to do Eagle now, thank you!
I really enjoy this new scenery run Stephen! And I was a bit worried about your phone for a bit haha a good scare! Hopefully you find more time for your runs, man! Cheers! :)
Great video as usual Stephen. I thought the phone was gone for good there. I spent ages looking for the door of my Hero 8 in really short grass. Never found it. I knew something was going to happen in the river walk at the end, was waiting for a plastic crocodile or something, didn't expect genuine old Celtic inscriptions. I hope you reported them to the local museums. All the best.
I really like this one, dispite the run being rushed (I know that feeling), especially the intro with that music and the 2nd track you use a bit later. When you lost your phone it immediately made me think of a week ago when I was flying my Karma drone over a dense forest (drone was 550m away from me) and I lost the signal! I spent nearly an hour and a half searching through the dense fooliage trying to find it as the sun was setting! I was curious as well, how much do you think all your filming kit weighs on a run like this and does it make the run much harder?
Oh yikes! Hope you found it again! Hmm if I’m bringing the Mini2, GoPro and Insta360 Plus accessories it adds at least 1kg, probably more (I should weigh it all some time) and it definitely slows me down. I’m much faster without the cameras.
@@StephenJReid I did in the end, after 75 minutes of hiking through thick forest undergrowth I finally saw its lights flashing on some leaves just as it was getting dark! It had been recording the whole time. So I quickly filmed a mini vlog once I found it. I'm going to add the crash footage to the vlog when I edit it! I find recording virtual runs while holding my gimbal (about 1km including GoPro) in my hand makes running much harder!
Great landscapes, and I can relate to the challenges that self-employment poses for when you just want to get away from it all and go out for a run. I saw you had the Insta360 Go2 clipped to your cap. Does that little clip safely attach the camera even when running on rough terrain?
Thanks Max. Can testify that I've run probably over 50mountain and trail miles now without that clip falling off my hat once. Can be tricky to attach and adjust while moving, but hasn't budged. Camera is only held in with a magnet too!
Stephen just a technical question (and not a criticism, loved the video), the GoPro 9 seems sharp on the background but less so on your face, other vloggers have said the same that it's not as good as the GoPro 8 for depth of field, would you agree? I ask as it's obviously hard due to editing and UA-cam compressing stuff to know what's going on and your face is under a visor so maybe it's just the way it came out. I feel so bad for dragging you back to GoPro technical crap when you want to run, to be fair I have refrained from asking inane questions on your last few videos :)
Yup you are absolutely right, although it has been present in previous GoPros too, it seems most noticeable in the Hero9. The minimum focus distance isn’t quite close enough so yeah faces are slightly soft while the background is razor sharp. I think it’s a compromise for better low light performance or perhaps a new lens design. Not ideal, but I can live with it.

Whoops! I’ve been wanting to head that way for a while after spotting them on a map.
When I see your videos I remember why I come out from home and I start to run! Greetings from an Italian Trail Runner! :)
Thanks Mark! 🙂 Enjoy your running!
Eagle is one of my favs so quiet
Very nice enjoyable watching you out for a quiet run glad you found your phone very funny great views of the landscape 👍
Thanks! Not sure if I’m glad I found my phone, thing rules my life 😂😂😂
How did we ever cope without mobile phones and emails?...peace of mind is how we coped.!! Lovely footage of the Mournes once again. Yup get that crag fpveeeed !!
It’s a tricky one. No mobile phones and I would have a very different job.

Never been up Pigeon, going to have to go find that millstone!
Great video including the 4min moan 😆. I’ve only ever been to the Windy Gap, now it’s on my list to complete this circular route, cheers 👍🏻
Thanks 🙂 Was windy gap disappointingly not windy when you were there too?
@@StephenJReid yes lol but I wasn’t disappointed....I don’t like the wind 💨😂

Thanks! There was a brief moment I thought I might not find the phone again 😂
Awesome, what a beautiful place you live in 👍🏻🤗
Excellent video, lovely footage 👍
Thanks James
Love the production of your videos mate! Mourne ones are defo my favourite. Great work 👍🏻
Loved it, was thinking the exact same about the fpv drone and then you said it, a beautiful side of the Mournes although it's all beautiful.
Hopefully be back with the FPV in a couple of weeks. 😁😁😁
Great vid. I can relate to work interrupting your run. Self employed and happens me too.
Have you thrown your phone in a hedge yet? 🤪
@@StephenJReid not yet but now that idea is seeded it may happen tomorrow!
Good Morning Stepehen, awesome video, keep them coming. Mysterious Dave !
Ahoy Mysterious Dave! Feels like only yesterday since we last talked. 😛 Keepin em coming
Forgot to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the video. Thanks
You’re welcome, thanks! 😁😁

For some reason the local museums wouldn't take me seriously
Another awesome video!! Very entertaining...keep them going!! No sponsor from Relive?
Thanks! Haha, relive should totally sponsor me 🤣
Superb content 🙌🏼 Thanks for taking the time man ✌🏻
Thanks Mark, glad you enjoyed it! Astro photography video coming soon...
Glad you got a bit of GO2 in there as well!
It’s great for those “hat cam” POV shots. Although it makes me look 20% sillier
No more snow?
I'm surprised! 😁
Haha, snow is gone and the sun is here. 🙂
Haha life hey 🙂 what the carrier you have to keep the drone in?
Here you go: PGYTECH CASE: geni.us/H4JX1X I then put this case into a dry bag or plastic bag just to be doubly protected from water.
@@StephenJReid thanks Stephen. That's super 👍
Oh to be young Stephen ☺️
Some day I won’t be and once you were, such is life here. 🙂

@@StephenJReid Great, thanks Steve!
Stephen what are the tunes in the soundtrack of this video? Proper earworming me lol
My feet got cold just listening to you splash in the stream.
It was delightfully chilly
Great vlog
Phone tossing, glad you hit the bushes.
A few rocks hidden in there! 😁😁

Also, glad you liked the video! Was having my doubts about this one due to the 4min complaining session 😂
grat minds think alike! Though in fairness the only way I'm getting up there is if you give me a piggyback😂
Now that would make for an interesting video! 😂
Maybe next time go somewhere there's no phone signal lol. Great video as usual
Haha, like Ben Crom? 😂 Thanks David, hopefully get back there soon enough 😁😁
@@StephenJReid fingers crossed for good weather :)
