I heard Toyota just did a recall of about 100,000 3rd Generation Tundras due to concerns that machining debris may be causing internal engine damage. So glad I got a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro before the ruined the Tundra.

I keep seeing videos like this lately, from various UA-camrs talking about problems with the new Tundra. I was going to get one, too, but didn't like several aspects of their redesign, as well as the high prices and dealership markups. I decided to get a new Nissan Titan at a discount and it's been good. Seeing videos like this help confirm to me that I made a good choice. We've lived with the quality issues of our own manufacturers for many decades now so we're used to it but imagine what they're saying about us when they get these garbage trucks over there!!!
Sucks that they are shafting you on the lift, and it’s disappointing to see that so much blame is being pointed to that mod. Rolling out new engineering / technology in an automotive is tough. No exception for Toyota. To be seen is how Toyota gets it right in year 2-3 via Kaizen. Even after several years Ford /GM just can’t get their s*** together on 10 speed, AFM/DFM, cam shifter, etc.
I was in the market for a new Toyota but after looking and driving some the quality control is gone ! I'm looking at something else maybe Nissan ? or wait another year !
I had a 2023 limited. Just sold it. I won’t go into the list of issues. It takes too long to type. I’ll just say my truck was in the shop 10 times in 12 months. So away it went last month. Just an fyi I had mine leveled. Every chance the dealer had they blamed the leveling.
My brand new 86000 Silverado makes awful suspension noise in the rear and the dealer blames me because I had it under coated with fluid film which essentially is a lubricant.
Bro thats a damn good looking truck! Total bs they are blaming the lift kit, there are hundreds of thousands of lifted trucks that dont blow up transmissions and differentials. Are they blaming lifts for the 100,000 engines on recall too?😂. I wish you good luck in getting all that sorted out its a bummer
Please explain to me the train of thought You know them well You're not supposed to buy a new car as soon as of the production line You have to give it a couple years for them to work out the kinks I've been talking about this for the past couple years I got Lexus GX 2016 I did not buy it in 2014 or 13 when it came out I waited a couple years I always do that with all my cars. Yes always get a brand new car and keep it as long as you can however never get a brand new car from redesign cycle everybody knows that come on
Well people need a car and figure a new redesign by Toyota will still be OK. But the truth is even Toyota redesigns have issues. Ideally want to wait until the 4th year of a new model or later. But it looks like Tundra might not be reliable this entire generation or past 4 years in.
The 23's and 24's have been a nightmare for most owners. Engine, diff, bearings and the list goes on. It's getting so bad most people are starting to hit up the lemon law because these things have been in the shop so often. There is something seriously wrong with the way the parts themselves have been designed for this model.
The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is a federal law in the United States that governs warranties on consumer products, requiring manufacturers and sellers to provide detailed information about warranty coverage to consumers, ensuring they can easily compare warranty terms before purchasing a product; it is enforced by the Federal Trade Commission. * No way a lift with larger tires will cause rear diff to go bad and have metal chips in gear oil, let alone cause the transmission to go bad. Dealer/Toyota has to prove 100% that the lift/tires caused this issue.
I put my money towards a vehicle that has proven to be reliable, looks fantastic and most of all, is made by a company that offers CHOICES to their customers. 2.7 litre TTV6, 3.5 Litre, Hybrid powertrain, TTV6 or naturally aspirated 5.0 litre V8 (one of the sweetest recent V8s). My personal truck is an F150 hybrid Powerboost and I lease/own all the other powertrains for my work vehicles. Don't sell your identity to a "brand"....... shop smart.
This is the exact reason when all the fanboys were talking about how great the new tundra was in October of 2021 I purchased a V-8 Trd pro lunar rock not one issue same exact thing with my 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser if you want a truck that will last you the rest of your life go find a 2020 or a 21 tundra your situation sucks, bro I would get rid of that truck as soon as possible best of luck to you, man
is your lift a TRD Lift from the factory? Many lift kits are not built to par and do stress some of the factory parts. I had 4 tundra... 2013, 2015, 2019 and now a 2025. Never any issues with any of them. My brother has a 2022 and put on the factory 3'" lift from Toyota to avoid these issues. I can tell you kits like rough country and some other after market companies are absolute garbage! You need to research the shit out of kits. I know Wescott designs specialize in Toyota or you can always go with Toyota's kit. My brothers truck had to be recalibrated to make sure the sensors and other electronics were accurate. I know other lift kits are not doing that! Its a chance you take when you go aftermarket.
I got a 2020 1794 v8 5.7 and i will never trade it for any new pickup truck from this area. V6 twin are just garbage and i have no clue why they ditch the v8. I love my tundra and 2020 was the best year
I get problems with one model but Toyota is having serious problems with a lot of their models now. My new 2020 Camry turned a Toyota fan in to a Toyota hater. I dumped it before its second oil change because it was the most annoying car I ever owned and I didn't trust it to last.
So you're upset because Toyota wont "warranty common issues because of the lift kit?" I mean why would you expect them to? WE ALL know not to lift our trucks until the factory warranty expires. Perhaps the shop you got your tuck lifted did a poor job in doing so. Take it back to them to fix and stop bitching fishing for sympathy on youtube
As a non UA-camr I made a video discussing my experience with the 2022.. .. I love the way it drove. But it was an over priced hunk of junk. 2 weeks ago I traded it in for a 24 4runner. I took a hit.. but I'm happy.
Bought a 2024 a month ago and I’m trading it back for a trd pro 4runner. Taking a big hit, but not impressed with the tundra quality for sure. Hopefully they get things figured out.
Wait until your engine blows. Mine made it to 28,000 miles before she seized up. Toyota claims it debris in the block casting, this is all BS. They’re also recalling the Lexus SUVs with the same engine with blocks made in Japan. There’s a major design flaw with this engine. Stay far far away from the new Toyotas.
And to top it off they're like $10,000 more. So disappointing. I have a 2021 V8 Tundra, no wonder the dealership is trying to buy my truck and get me into these crappy new models, hell nah!!
Hey Man glad to catch your video. But I hate to say it but your video is about the same as every 2022 to 2024 Tundra videos that are popping up lol. You are for sure alot calmer than I would be if in same situation lol. Ya everything you said seams like the norm for these. That whole bull shit of not giving you a truck when they have yours is bull shit. Your paying for one and not able to drive it. And As you was talking about what was wrong and the warranty. I knew before you said it they would tru to blame the lift kit. That is the only thing they have to make up for there incompetence. They sound like these Democrats that are in the government lol. Ya after they just put out this big recall of engine failure. I will stick with the bulletproof 2021 and under Tundra's. I still love my 2014 limited that has 195,000 miles, and "knock on wood" the the biggest thing I had to replace was front rotors and tie rod end. Oh and I think I need to replace the shocks next. I have 35's on it and getting maybe about 14 to 15 mpg, thats biggest negative. Hey Bud hope you have luck, but I would say get rid of that truck. Or find out about that big recall it affects 2022 and 2023 Tundra's
Well now you know what it is like being a FORD truck owner. Welcome to the club By now Toyota management has learned that buyers will pay any premium for their brand. Has the lower in the engine started to create mysterious noises? Let me guess.... you also paid WAY over sticker price too.
Lesson 1, DO NOT MODIFY VEHICLES UNTIL AFTER ITS OUT OF WARRANTY! It gives the dealer a way out!
The dealer would’ve blame that tow hitch is aftermarket and voids the warranty if he didn’t lift it..
No. NEVER BUY A FIRST YEAR MODEL ESPECIALLY A FIRST YEAR MODEL WITH A NEVER BEFORE ENGINE..

Well people need a car and figure a new redesign by Toyota will still be OK. But the truth is even Toyota redesigns have issues. Ideally want to wait until the 4th year of a new model or later. But it looks like Tundra might not be reliable this entire generation or past 4 years in.
Another example not to get aftermarket lifts when under warranty. Blame the design if you want but not the Texas assembly plant.
Beautiful truck
*shimming the interior trim?* 😢 😭
Hey, at least it looks awesome 😎
I guess if I want a Tundra, I'll get the 2nd gen model
I put my money towards a vehicle that has proven to be reliable, looks fantastic and most of all, is made by a company that offers CHOICES to their customers. 2.7 litre TTV6, 3.5 Litre, Hybrid powertrain, TTV6 or naturally aspirated 5.0 litre V8 (one of the sweetest recent V8s). My personal truck is an F150 hybrid Powerboost and I lease/own all the other powertrains for my work vehicles. Don't sell your identity to a "brand"....... shop smart.
Unbelievable Toyota!! Come on get it together would you!!!
This is the exact reason when all the fanboys were talking about how great the new tundra was in October of 2021 I purchased a V-8 Trd pro lunar rock not one issue same exact thing with my 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser if you want a truck that will last you the rest of your life go find a 2020 or a 21 tundra your situation sucks, bro I would get rid of that truck as soon as possible best of luck to you, man
I was looking to buy a tundra, but not after watching this
is your lift a TRD Lift from the factory?
It’s got fake exhaust sounds. What do you expect
As a non UA-camr I made a video discussing my experience with the 2022.. .. I love the way it drove. But it was an over priced hunk of junk. 2 weeks ago I traded it in for a 24 4runner. I took a hit.. but I'm happy.
Yeah I would love if Toyota would either buy this back or trade me for a Trd pro 4Runner. I’d make that exchange as well!
Yep, stick with the old reliable assembled in Japan. Hopefully Toyota can get their crap together.
Exactly!👍
Bought a 2024 a month ago and I’m trading it back for a trd pro 4runner. Taking a big hit, but not impressed with the tundra quality for sure. Hopefully they get things figured out.
Wait until your engine blows. Mine made it to 28,000 miles before she seized up. Toyota claims it debris in the block casting, this is all BS. They’re also recalling the Lexus SUVs with the same engine with blocks made in Japan. There’s a major design flaw with this engine. Stay far far away from the new Toyotas.
True - the 2024 front main bearing is a different part #.
"Toyota Enthusiast thru and thru" nd you have those models? LOL
And to top it off they're like $10,000 more. So disappointing. I have a 2021 V8 Tundra, no wonder the dealership is trying to buy my truck and get me into these crappy new models, hell nah!!
Less Truck for more money.
Yeah the door rattles are super common. Along with weird noises in the drive train. The new Tundra just seems like a pile of crap.
you don't know where tundra's are built?
Sell it before diminished value hits.
Well now you know what it is like being a FORD truck owner. Welcome to the club By now Toyota management has learned that buyers will pay any premium for their brand. Has the lower in the engine started to create mysterious noises? Let me guess.... you also paid WAY over sticker price too.
