I'm having the same problem now... I found that one of the 3 big fan relays is getting no power... I put in a junk yard unit and caused more problems... I'll change back and try to jump power to the dead relay

Did you have to reset the IDPM when you install it?

Where did you purchase the IPDM from?

Did you ever figure out what the problems were why your fans were not turning on? I have swapped out the IPDM and my fans still don’t turn on

To find out if the circuit is good, run active tests on the car. If the fans turn on after the clicks of the relay, they should be fine. I figured out that it takes a few steady revs around 3k rpm’s to kick em on. After reaching operating temp. It’s usually not immediate unless the temp sensor is unplugged or you have a hot wired fan setup.

I did the active tests and 1 of my fans turned on, the right one (passenger side). Horn didn’t honk but all the other stuff turned on. Should both fans turn on or just the one?

When you run the active tests are both fans supposed to turn on?

@@erikpietz2973 yes. The fans should have two connectors for each motor try switching them If it didn’t work.

If I have a no start issue could this fix it. I have an automatic 05’. New starter, new battery, new fuel pump, even camshaft sensor. Still no start on my end

Pull the ipdm, pull up the fuse/relay diagram. If anything looks suspicious, I’d recommend replacing.

How did you find out your ipdm was bad . On mine some fuses work and on others with a voltage tester , the tester doesn’t light up even when i replaced it with new fuse

    • @cameronmacdonald6604
      @cameronmacdonald6604  11 місяців тому +1

The ipdm was a part I threw at my car. (I have to admit it).
The instructions in this video are accurate. However, my problem was a bad wiring harness. Ripped out the crankshaft sensor when swapping.
If some of your fuses don’t work, I’d recommend looking at the ecu, or the wiring harness associated with the signal.

How did you pull all of it out as I see 2 tab in the back push in pull up, but it feels like something is holding it back?

      While pressing wiggle the enclosure

So, I bled the radiator coolant. Then I ran the car for 10-15 minutes while Reving the car periodically. After a bit they turned on.
Just make sure the temp gauge is sitting slightly below halfway. If it surpasses half way the Coolant isn’t bled and/or a relay is bad or the fans are bad.
Run active tests on the car, to make sure the signal is going thought to the fans. Turn the key all the way without starting that car, while the door is open, then press the door sensor that’s covered with a black rubber cover down 10 times. (Inside the door jam, next to where your left elbow is, adjacent to the metal door latch). After you press down x10 turn the key to the off position and back to the run position without starting the car.
The horn should sound and windshield wipers should activate shortly, signifying the start of active tests. If the fans turn on shortly after, they are functional.
