- Gary Payton starts off the third game of the 1997 Western Conference First Round series on fire as he goes for 18 points in the first quarter by hitting 5 three pointers. He would end up 1 three short off the NBA playoffs record of 9 threes set by Rex Chapman four days earlier. The Sonics team gets out-played by the Phoenix squad and now faces elimination trailing the 7th seed Phoenix Suns 1-2. To be continued...

1:26 NO WAY 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Over his fellow Oakland Pupil, Jason Kidd, also.
Gary Payton was returning the favor in this game that Rex Chapman did in game 1. Rex Chapman and the Suns were like holycrap Gary is hitting 3 pointers in this game 8,nearly matching Rexs 9 in game 1. Gary had good game in this one as well. Yes Sonics lost this game and Suns took game 1 but Sonics won series in 5.
i got LOVE for the GLOVE! And mad love for Schrempf too! haha... You should upload full games too. I love these but I also love watching full classic games. And I'm pretty sure UA-cam lets you upload hours of video at a time now.
Shawn Kemp too smooth 1:51
This game is the reason that they moved the 3 point line back to where it used to be the following year.
GP‼️
I love GP but his jump shot was seriously broken. You can tell he grew up playing on the playground.
His jump shot seems fine by me. Now Ben Simmons jump shot is truly broken.
@@Theterminato2013 Yeah I'm a shooter and I've always liked Gary Payton's jump shot. He's sort of like Jordan where he wasn't the greatest shooter when he first got in the league but improved a lot as his career went on.
You don't know shit about basketball
what a comeback for the suns! KJ all the way!
whats with Seattle- always struggling vs inferior teams in the postseason- 94 with Denver, 95 with LA, 96 was the exception, 98 with minnesotta...
It has always been a curse from them, but they were able to dominate Houston and Utah. If they were more consistent, they could have won it all
i think the bench kinda sucked. outside of perkins i wasn't a fan of the reserves and even perkins was misused.
95 Lakers were a good team and well coached.
Something with George Karl's teams who always struggled in the playoffs
95 Lakers weren't bad
1st ballot HOFer
TERRY CUMMINGS as the starting power forward of the Sonics????/!! NO WONDER they didn't even get to the WCF that year! lol. GP was sure getting his money on this one here though.
Too Blessed847 Shawn Kemp was the starting Power Forward.
