I would love to just hangout with you while you make baits. It reminds me of my grandpa who was a sculptor before his hands became too shaky. So much fun to watch someone in their element.
Lure idea! Make two lures the same. But one out of tupalo and one out of something with really nice grain and colour. Clear coat the nice grain wood but paint the other to look like the nice bit of timber, thus creating a painted nude.
Yes!! I didn't include this in my comment but YES that's what I want too. The natural wood grain "naked" clear coated wod be fantastic and of course another with his masterful paint job. Thanks for your comment!!
They're called Goldislots. When the tailfin slot is not too deep, not too wide, it's just right.

Sweet bait. You need a one-day of preparation. SD cards in the truck, backpack and on the yak. Wheels for the yak. Nets on the pack, in the truck and in the yak. Tripod in the truck, pack and on the yak.

I would love to see you try to make something with a few randomizers. Different bait types, species, pattern, size, paint colors, and materials to make it out of.
When I go fishing for bass, I'm just happy to catch a bass that's the size of that Wedge Nose Glidebait you're using.

Awesome bait!!!! And once again, the pain job is amazing! I hope I can get that good with an airbrush someday. Next time you run into that SD card issue, why don't you just take the card out of the big camera and drop it into the action camera? That's a big risk taking the big camera out on a kayak! I'm scared to even bring my big camera on the boat! I've already lost two phones on the delta trying to capture fishing footage!! Comes with the territory I guess...

Wonderful paint job! I was wondering if you could put metal scales inside the joint to make a noise. Or put some bee bees inside to rattle. This one would go on the wall next to the trout if it was me.
That thing is a masterpiece, when you dragged it through the tank it was obvious. It looked mor real than the bass it caught!

With that action and that size and shape, I think if you did a mullet paint job with some silver reflection it would mimic a big finger mullet well.

Waterfowl decoy weights are a little bigger, and usually aren’t polished like sinkers are :)
You can buy lead babbitt in bars. Oilfield supply stores or chain & sling suppliers might have it.
