”It’s going to a good home” - well not if you ask the grayling 😂 We literally can’t wait to serve it to some MONSTER northerns in 4K! Anyone knows a good 120 lb braid?
Every time you start painting I can’t see what you’re seeing. But you bring it together every time and I’m even more blown away each time! You Sir are a mad man 🦾🦾
Your bait making gets better with each video. I've been retired 2 1/2 years, and watching your videos got me started making lures about 4 months ago. Thanks for that, Nate. It's enjoyable AND frustrating. I love it. Keep putting out the great content. I hope you heal up quickly. God bless.
Arctic grayling is my favorite fresh water fish! I've worked on the north slope of Alaska in the oilfield on a drilling rig for 13 years, it is the furthest north you can drive in Alaska. I go fishing almost every day after work in the summertime and have caught more trophy grayling than you could dream of. The colors vary drastically between lakes and different rivers. This one is definitely a more common color pattern in the lakes. Pictures do not do them justice. You did a great job on the paint!
I've watched the video start to finish 3 times now. I pick up new things in the paint job every viewing. So awesome to see the way you used the 8bit Baits Powders! You picked two of my favorite colors! Amazing to see the final gloss coat with the sparkle. The Sonic really compliments the Grayling color scheme well. Phenomenal work as always my friend! Thank You for the inspiration! 🙌🏼
Amazing work, Nate! That thing is absolutely gorgeous. I would be terrified to actually cast it. I hope the healing continues and you're in tip top shape for spring fishing.
This one brought memories of my grandfather, had heard a lot of stories about this fish. Grandpa had a lot of experience in caughting them with his father in Siberia. He always said it's one of the prettiest fish out there, never seen one myself, but heard there are some in local trout rivers. Thanks for brining up the memories ❤ Amazing paint job BTW !
I live in Alaska, and greyling is one of my favorite fly species. This is an absolute masterpiece. I really like the channel that it's going to be gushed on as well. I predict that it'll hook up REALLY quickly. Great job. ❤
That is a nice bait. It came together almost flawlessly. But I will tell you that you looked a little scary after the reveal. What a trooper to come out after a few days and give us a finished video with running dialogue of this magnificent bait. Take care of your self. Cheers.
That bait is awsome Nate!!! Amazingly done once again, cant believe I’ve watched you for 5 years now, It’s so strange this UA-cam thing I feel like you’re a close friend of mine, but you have no idea who I am. It’s really weird thing. but just so you know, these videos really helped me to be a better fisherman and bait maker and they have helped me through some hard stuff, not that you are like a therapist or anything but your videos really have a therapeutic effect. I’m pretty sure I’m speaking for more than just me when I say that so, I just wanted to thank you for filming and making baits thank you Nate. And I know this one is going to hurt. It’s time to get a new lead pot. Sincerely, Kenni Ehlers Mark. Aka EHLRSOUTDOORS 😊
I enjoy seeing you just using random old airbrush needles as poky tools. Its the sign of an old pro. I paint with the same kind of fiddly attention to what I'm doing but on scale models rather than lures, and use laquer paints. Same methods though, straight or of the bottle. I can smell your shop. Always enjoy watching.
The water is finally melted and I took the day off work tomorrow. This video came in perfect time to inspire my first fishing morning of the year. As always, thanks man, great video, glad you are feeling better. You absolutely always blow me away with these paint schemes. Crazy good dude
I've watched every video that's come out from the beginning? Blows my mind every time. The channel your making the lure for are brilliant, one of if not the best pike fishing on UA-cam. Finally your making a grayling something I could use in Scotland
This is insane. I've been watching the boatside channel since the beginning and I always thought it would be so cool if you made a lure for them. Now it’s happening ❤
I think this bait put the Arctic Grayling back on my bucket list to catch. I say back on, because I remember seeing the Arctic Grayling in a fly fishing book my Dad had when I was a little kid. The bait turned out amazing!....FishOn....Jim
I'm a happy fisherman when I go fishing and catch a fish the size of the lure. A major plus when fishing with a lure that size is that you're not likely to ever get any backlash on your baitcaster.
The dorsal fin tilting seems to result in a better movement. I watched this video with undivided attention, not missing a single second, and found it fascinating. 👍
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You made it! I'm not saying it was because I spammed your comments for it or you actually just decided to do it. Doesn't matter to me. I'm just glad you made a wo derdul looking lure. :) With the Greyling made, how about making a sheeps head lure!? Put your teeth carving skills to the test.
It's insane how fast Boatside has grown. As a proud Swede, I salute. I came up with an idea for you to make. How about you make maybe a pike that ate a small baitfish with the baitfish caught in its mouth like a harmonica :D maybe something to put up on the wall, but would be cool if you made it swim. Hope you're getting better
Dude - I caught and photographed the Arctic Grayling pictured on the wiki page. I almost had a vibratory release when I saw the thumbnail for this video. Did you use that photo as a guide? Please say yes, I'll get all vibby again. Yes, where allowed you can eat them, but I would rate them as less than good eating. Grayling eaters tend to agree that the quality of the meat goes down rapidly after you catch one. Good Grayling country is also good bear country so you find yourself gutting a fish out in the bush and cooking on the quick - it not a good plan. Catch / Admire / Release. They are way more spicy than trout. I love them long time.
I am mesmerized at how the scales show up and disappear in the different angles when the light hits it. Seeing your lead pourer reminds me I need to get one so I can save $ on weights.
”It’s going to a good home” - well not if you ask the grayling 😂
We literally can’t wait to serve it to some MONSTER northerns in 4K!
Anyone knows a good 120 lb braid?
Excellent mid winter vid
Thanks for sharing your amazing talent! KANSAS
Hi, I use the varivas avani casting for 120 lb braid, if it helps !
Tas Line Elite White. Best braid ive ever used. I use the 130lb version for huge rubber/jerkbaits etc
I'm using varivas avani cast also, but not 120lb😮... only 60 lb😅
ygk oddprt 150lb is what i use for 600-1200grm lures.
you can get 100m of it on a toro beast 61 or any other 400 size reel,
I can't believe I've been watching this channel since before Finn was born. Every episode has been worth watching.
Same! Been watching this guy since before I even truly got into fishing. It’s cool to see his techniques change over time
I’ve had this same thought several times. Trip.
It's a little sad, too. Chip has aged a lot!
@@BioActivDesignHe is looking distinguished these days.
i lost track of how many years and had to check, i've been watching every video 8 years now and chip is almost an old man
39:58 "fish on!" Literally made my heart stop 😂 I was so hoping you caught a monster
35:45 Rest is peace good boi. When you’re strolling those streets of gold just know there’s a ton of people down here that miss you. We love you Chip❤
Not gonna lie, the swollen face is kinda giving me Who-ville vibes, haha!😆
Awesome bait man! Always love the paint jobs♥
Thanks, Emperor!
39:58 Oh yes you fooled me haha

Rolf Nylinder has some very good grayling fly fishing videos. Excellent cinematography and narration as well.
His videos are art. My favourite fishing channel.
The videos just keep getting better and better! Keep it up❤️❤️❤️ and WITH BOATSIDE! What an epic Collab!

So THAT was the large lure you teased, definitely worth the wait ❤🎉!
Awesome lure!! Great action and movement.
Whovilles finest bait maker! Another awesome one down. Can't wait to see what monsters they catch on it!
Most insane paint job I've ever seen on a bait!! Mad talent!!
Watching you make these baits is great, but learning about different species just makes the videos that much better.
This one is a Masterpiece! Simply amazingly realistic.
Those wood curls are so satisfying.
That is a nice bait. It came together almost flawlessly. But I will tell you that you looked a little scary after the reveal. What a trooper to come out after a few days and give us a finished video with running dialogue of this magnificent bait. Take care of your self. Cheers.

When you genuinely step back for a second and look how far your skills have come its truly amazing man.. This Bait is stunning work..
Yes!!! a Grayling!!
Mirrored my excitement here
I enjoy seeing you just using random old airbrush needles as poky tools. Its the sign of an old pro. i like your work. Steam and light being a first favorite. And backlit street. Very moody. Great stuff.
Looking forward to another great video! Keep up the incredible work!
This is most likely the greatest thing I've ever seen 😍 thank you for the video
I’ve watched most of the videos on the channel, this is my favorite! Next level paint job.

It is freaking beautiful how good that Flint swims.
That was an absolute masterpiece!!
This Chanel is such a great resource for lures and fishing.
A true Master Baiter especially when rubbing horizontally.
Bucket list fish for me.
Very COOL build...can't wait to see more of your work
I'm a happy fisherman when I go fishing and catch a fish the size of the lure.
A major plus when fishing with a lure that size is that you're not likely to ever get any backlash on your baitcaster.
I think this is your finest lure you made so far !! Absolutely a work of art ❤
Your attention to detail is flawless man!
Love Boatside, can't wait to see when they fish this bait
You killed it! That turned out beautiful!
The dorsal fin tilting seems to result in a better movement. I watched this video with undivided attention, not missing a single second, and found it fascinating. 👍
You got me with the "fish onnmn" 😆😂😂😆
You are a true master of your craft. Love your bait making. Thanks for sharing!
Sending this to boatside eh? Can’t wait to see what beast they can catch on this!

That's amazing
You keep upping your game somehow, that is a stunning grayling Marling!

Awesome lure!
that paintjob looked great in the sun.
That “eye deal” pun kinda blew my mind too Nate.. Haha. Awesome stuff as always man, much love! ❤️
The fins on this are phenomenal!
It's insane how fast Boatside has grown. As a proud Swede, I salute. I came up with an idea for you to make. Fantastic job, i think whoever receives that bait would be super happy to own that pice of art. Good work
Awesome build!!! Loved this one!!!
Finallllyyy another upload! Been Patiently waiting
Another great bait Nate!
So good man! Looking forward to seeing it catch some fish
Big bait so cool
Incredible work! Putting fins on really pulled the color scheme together. FYI arctic grayling do have teeth, but the teeth are fairly small.
Dude - I caught and photographed the Arctic Grayling pictured on the wiki page. I almost had a vibratory release when I saw the thumbnail for this video. Did you use that photo as a guide? That is so beautiful! Probably bigger than the only grayling I've ever caught :D
I am mesmerized at how the scales show up and disappear in the different angles when the light hits it. Seeing your lead pourer reminds me I need to get one so I can save $ on weights.
A true work of art... 👏👏👏 fantastic!
Cowabunga.! Happy Lunar Year to all at Marling Baits from Australia.
Beautiful work!
An absolute masterpiece as always
