    Great video - thank you!! Tackling this job on my '98 F3 soon (as well as fork seals hopefully!!) and this has given me a decent amount of confidence in removing and refitting the forks.... :)

    I've got exactly the same bike. Mine was stood for 10 years. I've serviced it, but I'm finding the forks are not damping correctly. It's very stiff on rough roads. Not sure if it's the settings or forks need rebuild.

      I'd definitely change the oil and put the settings back to factory, these are 3 lines visible on the preload and 7 clicks from closed on the dampening. I hope this helps, let me know how you get on.

      @@Eight20 whats your total range of adjustment of rebound. I have 11 on one side and i think 12 on the other

    Very straightforward video, much appreciated. Shouldn’t be much of a difference for my 94 f2 right?

      Very similar, but please check your workshop manual for torque settings as I can't guarantee they are the same.

    Is the ring intended to help set the depth of the forks into the triple tree?

    Do you like it on the stiffer side or light side. New springs means it's stiffer so you may have it mid way

    My cbr 600 F3 has one leaky fork, I think after seeing this i will try it my self and replace the oil, Would you recommend 10W or something else with a sporty style?

    • @Eight20
      @Eight20  2 роки тому +1

      I used 7.5w for this as I kept bottoming out the forks under braking on the track, realistically stronger springs would have been the better option. I use 5w on all my other bikes as it's more consistent with temperature.

      @@Eight20 Okay okay, shop adivsed me to just use 10W, i could use 5W but the better is to use hyperno progressive springs, i have no wild plans other than some times a trackday if i get more experience but not planning to push 100% . So right now doubt between 10W or 5W. Also any other thins i can change while im at it? oil, vorkseal.
      Also i have no idea how my vorks are adjusted, im planning to set them back to stock preset after i replaced the seal and oil to adjust my self
      Also can i use common tools to replace teh vork seals?

      Thanks man! Ended up using regular 10W, the shocks are so much stiffer now that i had to release some air out of the front tire for bumps in the residence. Next thing is can you perhaps make a video about how to remove the cluster? mine has some broken lights and are hard to notice in the darker hours. Read something about a special way otherwise the bike wont start

    Wrong in every way ... pointless replacing fork oil without a complete fork strip/clean.
