Cool video! I did the same thing, kinda. Bought an F2 that was basically destined for the junk yard, and I put it together and found some fairings. Next thing you know, I'm riding it for two years and it's still going strong! Ride red ;)
Dude... serious respect. You put that baby together in about the same time I'd change a spark plug! Lol... AND alone! I've a nice F1 Cibber. Great bikes... as your vid drew to its close, I started thinking... All he needs to do is make sure he rides it away... you did. Result!
I just wanted to let you know your videos have inspired me to take on huge projects. Everyone always asks me how I know what I know I a tell them about your channel. Btw did you ever get your medic ? Spoke with you a long time back.
You Sir make me wish I knew something about mechanics. I'm on the market searching for a '98 F3 and this video is perfect to see that it's a fun bike to work on and still a great bike to ride.
Awesome ... it looks kinda scary first with all the hoses and wires hanging down but then as everything is attached where it belongs it´s nice to see how a whole bike regains his shapes and forms ...
Yeah sure, but I hate fairings on motorcycles, currently I have an Aprilia RS 125 and always removing the fairings to do some small repairs is really annoying ... I am going for a naked bike, when I sell this, much easier to maintain and a lot less tech than a sports bike (the older ones at least) :)
That makes me miss my '98. It was that same color. Was stolen a little over a year ago. What I don't miss are all the hoses and those carbs. What a pain! Very cool bike sir.
Awesome build, was it from a kit, disassembled bike or from a collection of parts you got hold of? Would love to build a sports bike up from a kit or something but don't think they exist :(
If you added up all the seconds I'd spend looking at a manual thats a day, looking around the garage for the right tool = another day, would have been at least a 3 day job for me. I can tell by how slowly the shadows were moving, you were hauling ass. Well done.
Just did valve clearances and timing is perfect but now the exhaust valves are sticking open and slapping shut.... It sat for a few days with the head open to air. Is it possible they are just gumed up or did I somehow bend the valves? There an easy way to tell for sure?
+mrmaxstorey sorry just seen your reply. the reason I think I know they are is because when I took the cam off some of them are actually stuck open. (recessed in the head)
Hey I'm 16 and I've been rebuilding older bikes the past couple years (and making a good bit of cash from it as well) and I've got a question for you. I've got the chance to pick up an 88 zx10 that's been pretty abused and I'm wondering even if I chop the old boxy tail and fab a new one, is it possible to put newer plastics on it (mid 90's and up) your videos have been a ton of help to me so if you could just give it a minute of thought for me it'd be so cool
Awesome! Thanks for the response. I've done a bit of studying these older super bikes and I think I'm going to go for the street fighter style. Have a good day and thanks again
Did you used pictures or video for the timelapse? If it was pictures could you tell me what software you used am trying with photolapse but is not working
I used video but I have used photos before, in my cross country video and my motorcycle diasassembly video. I took the photos with my gopro, put them all into Windows Movie Maker, adjusted the time length to show each photo, and added music. Easy as that
mrmaxstorey ok , I must have been doing something wrong will try with windows movie maker and see. Thank you, also thanks for making that timelapse on the cbr as I had to take out the motor on mine and this helped a lot.
hi I have the same bike.I'm missing the thrust washer(goes before the pressure plate)and the cone washer(goes before the lock nut)will this make a difference, because my clutch doesn't work.could those two washers make it not work.please help
Hello what is the minimum amount of time it would take to swap out a crashed bikes parts and fully reassemble a motorbike using a New frame assuming you had all the replacement parts for the parts that we broken in the crash ?
hey man. swapping a new engine into my f3 over the next couple days and gonna turn it into a street fighter. have some questions for you on dropping/ swapping the engine if you'd be willing to help me out!
Hey Max been watching your videos for a while and I actually have a 97 CBR600F3 and Im having issues with the carbs. I was wondering if it would be possible to speak with you about how to fix the issue. Please let me know how I can contact you. Thanks, Ish
hi have a question I have 98 cbr 600 f3 I was riding and lost all power I can't figure out what it could be I checked all fuses by chance do u have a idea
+Cameron Coffin OK check the main battery leads. The red one runs to your starter solenoid and the black one goes to a ground on the frame. Make sure they are both tight with no corrosion
do you know wat could be wrong if my friend added to much gear oil into the bottom end and now it doesnt start?could it have somehow flooded the crank or piston?
i think its like an 88 yamaha blaster quad not to sure of the yr..I was thinking maybe drain it out a bit and maybe take the top end apart and clean it out..Is there anything else i should be worried about, any seals or anything?
Cool video! I did the same thing, kinda. Bought an F2 that was basically destined for the junk yard, and I put it together and found some fairings. Next thing you know, I'm riding it for two years and it's still going strong! Ride red ;)
Max is secretly The Flash, and this was shot in real time lol. Great video man! Love it!
The shadows not moving supports your theory
God bless your talent every day more and more. envy you man in a good way..
Dude... serious respect. You put that baby together in about the same time I'd change a spark plug! Lol... AND alone! I've a nice F1 Cibber. Great bikes... as your vid drew to its close, I started thinking... All he needs to do is make sure he rides it away... you did. Result!
Smiled the whole way through. Especiall when the tank went on. :)
Nice work Max. I wish I could clean my house as quickly as you build a bike.
Cheers, Roger
I just wanted to let you know your videos have inspired me to take on huge projects. Everyone always asks me how I know what I know I a tell them about your channel. Btw did you ever get your medic ? Spoke with you a long time back.
Thanks man thats a very positive thing to say. Yeah Ive been a medic for 6 yrs now, currently work for DCFD.
Incredible to be able to do that in two days. You must know the bike well.
You Sir make me wish I knew something about mechanics.
I'm on the market searching for a '98 F3 and this video is perfect to see that it's a fun bike to work on and still a great bike to ride.
Just got a 96 f3 and fixed almost everything on it without knowing really anything about bikes but man was it fun
Love this guy n the way he works. Awesome brother!
Awesome ... it looks kinda scary first with all the hoses and wires hanging down but then as everything is attached where it belongs it´s nice to see how a whole bike regains his shapes and forms ...
Haha yeah and when those fairings go on, all the hanging wires and hoses definitely look a lot neater
Yeah sure, but I hate fairings on motorcycles, currently I have an Aprilia RS 125 and always removing the fairings to do some small repairs is really annoying ... I am going for a naked bike, when I sell this, much easier to maintain and a lot less tech than a sports bike (the older ones at least) :)
just got the engine in mine tonight, cant wait to get her running
That was fun to watch...Thanks Max...I marvel at your abilities...
That makes me miss my '98. It was that same color. Was stolen a little over a year ago. What I don't miss are all the hoses and those carbs. What a pain! Very cool bike sir.
Made it look easy man.
Awesome video, you make it look so easy. Would probably take me a year to do this lol
Awesome video mate you made it look easy,I'm about to start my first project on a CBR just subbed. Regards Adam
Thanks Adam

Wow!!!! That was frikn amazing mate, awesome job 😁😁👍
Extremely talented and entertaining!
Thanks bud
Awesome build, was it from a kit, disassembled bike or from a collection of parts you got hold of?
Would love to build a sports bike up from a kit or something but don't think they exist :(
It was a frame swap. So I started with an empty frame, the donor bike off screen gradually got disassembled as the new bike was being made
congratulations you've got a new bike!
That was AWESOME! Nice job!
Not once did I see him pull out a cell phone to look up how something was done. Impressive!

Incredible job! You are really talented. My projects seem to take forever,LOL
If you added up all the seconds I'd spend looking at a manual thats a day, looking around the garage for the right tool = another day, would have been at least a 3 day job for me. I can tell by how slowly the shadows were moving, you were hauling ass. Well done.
Thanks bud yeah it took me about a day plus 4 hours
Awesome vid. I built my f2 frame up, but I never finished it. I need to get it running and roadworthy. Where's the front fender?
Missing, apparently
I would love a step by step instruction video on rebuilding theses bikes... Can't find on on UA-cam nowhere, I have one I need to put back together
enjoyed watching this! thats some talent! good job!
frign awesome man
Wow, super nice! Did those stickers come with the fairings? Where did you buy them from?
Travis Hodges The previous owner put them on, probably not too long after the bike was new
you are really talented man!!
What a crazy.. Nice job bro...awesome..

+mrmaxstorey sorry just seen your reply. the reason I think I know they are is because when I took the cam off some of them are actually stuck open. (recessed in the head)

richard bavier Yeah guys get new plastics for their bikes all the time, youll have to fab up some mounts but it isnt that hard
Awesome! Thanks for the response. I've done a bit of studying these older super bikes and I think I'm going to go for the street fighter style. Have a good day and thanks again
richard bavier How did it go? Did you manage to follow through.
What kind of fairings were those? I like them alot.
Stock farings with a bunch of stickers
Hello Max, is there any way of uploading this video in real time ?????
No sorry I dont have any of the footage
Oh ok,awesome video

Dude..... Dope vid
Excellent choice of music. Love me some Soul Coughing. Excellent vid man.
Did I miss where you installed the right side seat cowl?
No the red light was flashing and I wanted to ride off before the battery died
Cool video. Looks like you really know what your'e doing!
Nice job....
I was rebuilding my cbr too.
I really had problems with the Twin Tube Frame (CBR 400 RR)... absolutely no space to work on it....
Pure bliss, love it! :)
Did you used pictures or video for the timelapse? If it was pictures could you tell me what software you used am trying with photolapse but is not working

Do you have to put the carbs on with the engine in or can you put the engine in with the carbs attached?
Probably best to attach the carbs after the engine goes in
mrmaxstorey Thanks again!
Did you forget the whole right hand side fairings? Loved the video, :)
Haha the battery was running out on the camera and I wanted to ride it off, Im like no one would notice, oops
I need this guy NOW
Could I get help on reinstalling the air vent control solenoid valve and tubing
nice video bro
hey boss and, is not removing all the parts from the bike?
huh?
mrmaxstorey He means your taking the bike apart, and playing the video in reverse. We know the truth though. Excellent video.
Michael Campbell good catch lol
Ha, pretty damn good time-lapse man!

Esta bien, muchisimas gracias y voy a tomar en cuenta sus consejos. Y estamos en contacto
i know it's a timelapse but it's not fair how fast you got that done

Hello what is the minimum amount of time it would take to swap out a crashed bikes parts and fully reassemble a motorbike using a New frame assuming you had all the replacement parts for the parts that we broken in the crash ?
Well I suppose 50 trained mechanics on cocaine could do it in about 20 minutes. That would be pretty close to the minimum I'd reckon
mrmaxstorey
thanks for the reply
how about a man working on his own.how long did it take you to do
This was about 8 hours of work
Good video
hey man. swapping a new engine into my f3 over the next couple days and gonna turn it into a street fighter. have some questions for you on dropping/ swapping the engine if you'd be willing to help me out!
Sure send me a PM here on youtube
is that Soul Coughing?
yep
Great video..amazing..
Cool Vid,
I think Johnny Cash's song "One Piece at a time" would have been a better suited to this video.
you didnt connect up the air box ( 2pipes on top of carbs) why is that?
no good reason most likely. I think I forgot and they got hooked back up eventually
How did you reconnect your I'm having lil bit of electrical problems
+jabastian gordon How did I reconnect my what?
Wiring
+jabastian gordon Just plugged it all back in
Hey Max been watching your videos for a while and I actually have a 97 CBR600F3 and Im having issues with the carbs.

+Cameron Coffin Do any lights come on at all?
+mrmaxstorey no
+Cameron Coffin OK check the main battery leads. The red one runs to your starter solenoid and the black one goes to a ground on the frame. Make sure they are both tight with no corrosion
+mrmaxstorey okay thank you for your time
can anyone tell me where all the water pipes go?
do you know wat could be wrong if my friend added to much gear oil into the bottom end and now it doesnt start?could it have somehow flooded the crank or piston?
What year/make/model bike is this?
i think its like an 88 yamaha blaster quad not to sure of the yr..I was thinking maybe drain it out a bit and maybe take the top end apart and clean it out..Is there anything else i should be worried about, any seals or anything?
942doc1
Might have fouled the plugs, start with new plugs and see if that helps. This is a 2 stroke right?
yes it is,but is it possible that theres oil in the combustion chamber?like wouldn't that act the same as hydrolock?
And yeah ill try the plugs
