The first caller doesn't get it, when people donated to Captain Tom or bought his book or merchandise, they didn't do it to enrich his family or pay for their building extensions and holidays. Talking about criminal acts is a red herring. It's about integrity and trust

They very litterally did do it to enrich his family. That’s what happens when you buy someone’s merch or books. They get paid. Then they die, family scopes the money.

@@mrbubbles6468you aren’t really this ignorant are you? Everything Tom did was to enable the health and safety of people. He walked for the nhs not to line his pockets, he agreed to these other things in order to continue that goal, and instead of honouring his wishes his family pocketed millions and lied to these charities, and most like Tom himself.

The daughter and husband saw a grift and went all in for whatever they could make from the support Captain Tom had with the general public. How was she suddenly a public speaker commanding huge speaker fees, why didn't she donate any of it to the charity, if it was all above board? The caller is a happy Torrie .... contract, what a nonsense. It is a disgrace and people feel buped. And now this man says they shouyld stop whining as there is no contract. This is about morals and ethics, not about law ... but htan, what would a happy Torrie know about morals and ethics ...

I have some experience with this, its not that Charity is a bad thing its just that as a corporate entity it attracts bad people. My mother worked for War on Want charities for years on a volunteer basis and some people in management would be genuinely horrible in their outlook on struggling people, the reality of most of these shops on the high street with a charitys name on their door is just avoiding taxation through the charity grift.
