Mr. Raymond Arthur Gillen Rip
Mr. Geoffrey James Nicholls 😔
Ray was a FUCKING monster.Look at this voice dude...
This is the single greatest version of the song in existence. And it is - in essence - a First Take. That's nuts.

Unbelievable
Ray Gillen best singer ever for Black Sabbath was a perfect fit
29 years ago ...wow!!
wow... what more could you ask for in a singer?
Ray!
symptom of the sweet leaf universe
Ray Gillen Sang a lot 🎤🎵🎼🎶🎤😎👊
« Sweat Leaf🙋🏽♀️I love you, my life..... oh, yehhhhhh👋Perfect i’ts RAy💋ohhhh🙏 » The ETERNAL IDOL »💥Leave SABBATH 🤷♀️In my Heart always🎶OK, Black Sabbath, Number ONE‼️is exactly RAY??? 🤷♀️Alright now🎵
Magnífico!
Hands down the best version of "Sweet Leaf" ever recorded!
The version of Dio in Áustria 1980 is much superior in my point of view.
Wish there was a video for this.
My theory of this bands least renowned vocalist is actually their best!
So why didn't Ray stick around with Black Sabbath?
A dio singing in the higher ranges than dio
Dio sing higher ranges than Ray Gillen easy, he is most efortlesly, with much better control and consistency.
No one tops the Ozzy versions, not Dio, not Gillen, nobody.
Ozzy may have been the original... This is an amazing live version! Done by a really great vocalist!
It is way different, Ray wasn't trying to be Ozzy at all .
Iommi is playing in B
Oz Man sings this in Ab
A minor third lower
Ray has that soaring range
More singers should be this way
Come on singers , you can do it!
@@johnmcminn9455 sounds girlish to me.
@@GilaMonster971 his range may have been over the top, but at least there is still Tony Martin and Joe Lyn Turner.
Turner is going towards more rasp and grit in his sound lately.
Tony Martin Thorns actually sounds like the kind of Metal that usually has growling death vocals, yet Martin is able to sing melody over it, Martin sounds like he was listening
to Dio's versions of Ozzy, when he was in Sabbath.
Thorns 2022, has 7 and 8 string guitars, almost like what another Dio record would sound like with more modern metal.
Tony martin actually said he felt like the younger brother in Sabbath, because he was like 15 years younger than Iommi and Geezerua-cam.com/video/r3HybnAfZ2w/v-deo.html
