+ChevKen Well that is interesting because I have a bootleg with this tune and Symptom of the Universe separated by several songs the gig was recorded 10/22/1975 at Hammersmith. The CD is called "This is a Sabotage!" in support of the the Sabotage. The record which was already out as of 7/28/1975.

This is interesting as this is an early live rendition of what became the end section of "Symptoms of the Universe"off 1975 "Sabotage Album". Actually recorded at the Ontario Motor Speedway, Ontario, California,U.S.A.On 6th April 1974.A little improvised section as part of Sabra Cadabra.Like Zeppelin and Purple (the later at this gig)The Sabs would often Jam pieces of songs in a live situation and the ones that worked they would include on future Album's !Ozzy was, and still is great at improvising lyrics and melody lines to Tony's guitar and some of their greatest songs were done this way. This is a fine recording straight from the mixing desk, and a good example of Ozzy's melodic Vocals, never shouting, grunting, screaming, like many of his contemporaries. His love and influence of The Beatles stayed through out his career.---Thank-you for posting I have this recording but this is the best quality I have heard.
Yeah, what Phil said! lol No, you are exactly right on every point. I thought it was just me 'till the 80's came and the 'Heshers' came out of nowhere with a love of all things Ozzy and Sabbath.
Sabbra Cabradabra?...I don't see y'all's connected dots, in any event? There's a much better more manly sounding version of this particular song with more in depth lyrics on Sabbaths imported album called Live at Last

THANK YOU for sharing this!! I thought I'd heard everything from Sabbath, but have never had the pleasure of hearing this one, so yeah, definite gratitude!!
I'm always blown away by how heavy Tony's riffs are. Of course, they're easy to hear in all the classic Sabbath songs...but even in this short, Americana-type of a bluesy rock arrangement, Tony's riffs, especially during the refrain, are grinding and heavy in a way that seems like they wouldn't fit...yet, they tie the whole tune together perfectly. Also, I'd have to say that Ozzy's vocals in this song are some of the best and most unique, by him, I've ever heard. He's showcasing a style I've never heard him use on any other track with either Sabbath or any of his other solo bands..Long live Sabbath~
great song they played live for many years. great stuff. I loved all their releases even the two weaker ones from the late seventies. and their more obscure tony martin lead vocals era ones.
Yeah, if Never say die and Technical ecstasy were by another band people would think they're pretty awesome. But cos Paranoid to Sabotage were so good peeps think the last two Ozzy ones are'nt much good but they are.
Its these rear and non radio played Sabbath songs I like a hell of a lot compaired to those over played tunes. Whats so cool is I was listening to Sabbath original on 8 track the first time and here it is like damn 40 yrs later and I end up hearing tunes I've never heard.
bill ward so underrated, he plays with power, swing and alittle funk!
Bill Ward would rip your arms out of your sockets and use them for sticks. He is a legend!
He is a King indeed.
Because jazz is a major influence to him
jarred allemand so funky! Love me some Bill Ward! 🤙👋🤘🤘
How is he underrated ? Every metal fan knows how great this man is ! I'm a drummer myself and Bill has covered it all ! He's at the top of my list as one of the best !
Can't believe how sharp and powerful Ozzy's voice was!!!
Lol
What's so funny?
+Gene Lattanzi Yeah, he had great ability and power back then but not sure what hell happened to it! If you hear him now its like one tone and key.. really sucks! I'd say to him.. go and enjoy your money and life because there is nothing more unless one wants to see him do jumping jacks like fool on stage!
+Alberto Mario Well, I liked your first sentence anyway...
Alberto Mario a little tough in the ending sentence :/
This is what would become incorporated at the end of the song, "Symptom Of The Universe".
***** interesting......i never put that together.
+ChevKen .....................You are on top of your game! Great job!
+ChevKen Indeed
+ChevKen It's also at the middle of "Wicked World" from "Live at Last"

Ozzy’s vocals in 1975 were at their absolute peak. Amazing. Sabotage is their best damn album. Bar none.
Id say 1974

Ozzpocket Productions I sure agree 🤝
Master Of Reality , their best
Master of Reality would like a word with you
Any true Sabbath fan will know this Sabbath. Ozzy's voice was def much higher when he was younger.
Mike R How do people think this is anybody else is the real question..
I think he means this era of sabbath
That's also because this recording is played at the wrong speed, so the pitch is up. Just compare this to "Live at Last".
There’s a couple of more cool songs on Under Wheels Of Confusion, if you can find it.
@@PanekPL The point still stands.
Ozzy was a great blues singer.

That's because it's not even Ozzy singing... LOL

It's a different "ozzy" singing. The music industry uses doppelgängers all the time. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but its show business it happens every day
Which one
I have never heard this song! I love it! Hear Ozzy's voice, strong, and the rawness is badass!!!
Yes, also he was on drugs too.
Live at Last had this track
You've actually heard it probably a lot of times. It was reworked and and became the ending to "Symptom of the Universe".
@@gl3605 no wonder i hear a couple parts and make the same comparison, both sound fuckin rad.
Let the words be Geezer and the voice be Ozzy.
That was so poetic man! Truth be told ozzy was the best at delivering geezer's lyrics. Nobody did it better than ozzy!

Ozzy is such an underrated vocalist he's definitely one of my favorites
He was a really good vocalist from 1973 to 1975 (his peak years).
@@Danimal77 lol I like literally every single album. His voice is always good for me.
Quite the opposite, especially compared to Dio, Gillan, Halford, King Diamond and so on. He was good in his early years but not among the greatest
Better than Dio for sure.
Ozzy's Godly intonation at 1:02 proves this is the way it was recorded whenever it was

Blues Sabbath...so sublime. Thanks. The broken rhythm lends a real stones-ish feel to the verse parts.
Thanks for sharing. Never heard this live before. Ozzy’s vocals remind me of Steve Marriott in some parts they are so strong.
Wow did not know Ozzy could hit those notes. what a rare gem. thank you for sharing!
I mean he definitely can’t hit them now but he had a pretty good range in the 70s before the vocal damage.
No doubt one of the greatest singer ever. He's in my top ten
Greg Hubbard he was an amazing front man, which in this situation is definitely more important
Ronnie James Dio should be number 1
Dio IS #1
Lol, him and who else? Justin Beiber?
Toby Martin was good too
Man those early vocals. Thanks for posting.
People who say Ozzy was never a good singer have obviously never listened to mid-'70s Sabbath
