I just go to the kitchen or make coffee or something. Most annoying thing though is dying cause it takes a minute to load each death in Stalker 2 and Baldurs Gate 3
@@DGP_MIKE So, is the M.2 NVMe drive a gen 3x4, gen 4x4, or gen 5x4? Also, is it running off of the cpu lanes or chipset and is it the entire x4 lanes of bandwidth or is it running off of less, like x2 lanes or even x1 lanes because it happens depending off of the situation? Depending on the confiuration the end result will be different, so next time can you please include this information.
Idk what is everyone doing wrong but the shader compilation on my system (4070, 7800x3d, 32gb 6000mhz cl28) is much shorter.. It takes like 30-40 seconds max..
For me it was very long time for the first time, but next startups are much faster, it's still annoying, but not that crazy. I have Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB 3600 MHz and RTX 2070 Super.
This game is so random, I had a invisible mutant I already forget what they're called a Monolith? Or am I mixing shit up? But yeah Right at 4:17 he popped outta no where scared the living shitola out of me. Weird that it never spawned for you.
If you want long time offline storage go HDD, just take care not to store HDD near magnetic fields as these can erase data. On other hand SSD without power can not be stored without loss of data, it's risk. If you can take care of DeFregmentation at least weekly you can have much more storage per price. But SSD offer better stable frame time and less stutter but this does not matter much on single player. On multiplayer it means life or death. Imagine playing tournament where every ms, matter. This means good response not only in storage but also in display like GPU/MONITOR ... Final though, 7200RPM and good optimization of HDD and game development can offer ok experience on medium settings... If can, go for SSD for speed and response. Also if you're low on RAM, page file will act as missing RAM so this is much better on SSD and Nvme... To each their own. Happy hunting Stalker. 😃
Depends on the generation you have; NVMe are not all equal. Some faster than others (gen3, gen4, gen5), and it also depends on your motherboard and what generation of m2 it can accept. My NVMe is a Gen4, but its connected on a Gen3 slot. So, it's a bit older.
how can u even play for me it takes 5min per house to load textures and even then many stuff doesnt work at all you play it just fine with just slower loading times do you have any suggestion how to make it easier for hhd some setting or sum pls help
i have all three installed, nvme m.2 for newer AAA games (mainly multiplayer games) and SSD for slightly older games and a large HDD for bulk storage and swapping out games from my nvme m.2 storage or very old games that don't need the higher tech.
@anthonyh4745 okay, understandable. Since you are not using hdd for modern games, it's not the case I'm writing about here. So, imagine having cash for gaming pc but still using your HDD for new games. A "fine" (not the fastest, but still crazy fast compared to HDD) 1tb ssd is about 60 usd. That's enough for "6 x stalker 2" and, fortunately most games still take less space than Stalker 2 :)
Really we have almost 2025 and someone use HDD to play games? 2023+ 3x1TB NVME PCIe 4.0 for OS and games + 8x1TB SSD SATA on RAID-0 for games. And HDD for other stuff. 2018-2022 1x NVME for OS and 7x SSD SATA for games. And HDD for other stuff. 2009-2017 SSD SATA for OS and 8x HDD 7.200 on RAID-0 for games. And HDD for other stuff. So single HDD 7.200 I use max on 2008 year.
11min everytime on hdd, rip hdd gaming. But it's also because devs put shaders everytime at startup which is bad, it should only compile when driver, update changed.
in my country cheapest 4TB SSD is 210 euros. Cheapest 4TB HDD is 90 euros. Of course im picking the HDD lol. I have a 1TB SSD only for games like STALKER, and the massive HDD for everything else. im not paying 210 euros for an SSD
It didn't take hours to load shaders on the HDD in this video either, it took 11 minutes 28 seconds. So not to sure what your were watching to see it take hours, were you watching it load from a tape drive, the only thing I can think of that'd take hours to load shaders off of?
Using hdd myself initial first load of game took me about 15min for shaders to load, but on second and so on launch, now it takes 3-4mins, don't have any problems with textures, game runs pretty good, sometimes drops to 8-12fps from 97 fps but due to memory leak problem (mostly happens only in first town and not always) ryzen 5 1600 gtx 1660 super, 32gb ram 2400mhz, save/save load after loading first save after launching game, is super fast 10-15sec max, custom settings 1080p textures epic, some things a set to medium/high - my personal experience
The game has poor optimization. But with turning off raytracing using Nvidia profile inspector, with using mods for skipping shaders load, game optimization mod and the latest Nvidia drivers - no stattering, fps is 70 minimum in the village with a bar and a trader, average is 100 in 1440p. So waiting for the new patch to fix the game speed without mods.
i think you cant "turn off RT" in this game. its always lumen and it runs on software level or its hardware accelerated, depending on wich gpu you use but you can turn down the quality setting for lumen.
@@2010Zanoza2 yea, just checked it on the internet. it seems that lumen stops working if you go lower then medium for global illumination but RT reflections stay active all the time. maybe you can deactivate the RT reflections with the profile inspector...it also seems that the game, at the moment, only uses software lumen and maybe we get hardware support later on
I made the mistake to install it first on my HDD. I eventually switched to my SSD. It was unbearable.
PS: We have the same HDD and SATA SSD.
I have ssd for like 250 eur and the fact that it takes 2 minutes to get into game with that is insane.
Great video thank you man!
Full support and a good like for this speed test, the game is very cool!
HDD reminds me of how long turns used to take in Total War Warhammer 2
M.2 read/write speeds vary. My load time is under 1:20. I can't imagine having a rig with HDD as main storage and playing these modern games😱😱
good thing you dont have to experience it as i do
I just go to the kitchen or make coffee or something. Most annoying thing though is dying cause it takes a minute to load each death in Stalker 2 and Baldurs Gate 3
I play it on hdd just like silent hill 2 💀
I run it from HDD where windows with 50 additional apps running in the background. I just love the load times and stuttering.
ドキドキワクワクします!また見に来ます!チャンネル登録しました!👍
Thank you!

what is the program that shows the system results in real time? the one in the upper left corner?
MSI afterburner
so I did the smart thing to install it on the NVME, ssd looks tolerable, HDD dont even try, this gen of videogames shouldnt be on HDD
i thought that shader load times are cpu dependant only.
0:53 *2 minutes with NVMe SSD? 160 GB space? Holy sh....*
Where did the comrades make a mistake? 🤣

On an old HDD, shaders loading can take up to an hour 💀
NVMe is SSD too!
Ну и тогда играем на диске от ноутбука! А пофигу😂😂😂
Well the thing im looking forwad now is nvme vs sata, since upcoming game will be using direct storage (not guarantee tho)
To się ładuje na HDD 11 minut? Masakra

Hello dear !! intersting test comparision... keep up good job and thanx !! have a niceday !!
I play on a 2070 and an i7 and struggle like a mf… wtf maaaan
thats weird my NVMe takes aprox 50 seconds to compile shaders.

No direct storage supported for now
like the radiation from the waste land wasnt enough, monsters and bullets from enemies... The player has to fight an invencible opponent the HDD.

What's your HDD. Is it a SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM or SATA 3Gb/s a 5400 rpm?
use any stalker 2 shaders optimization mods
Try defrag the hdd
DLAA + frame gen is better. DLSS Quality, the game looks blurry and more artifacts than FG
imagine having cash for a decent pc to run this game but still using hdd in 2024

To be fair games shouldn't compile shaders everytime you load in 💀💀
When budget is limited people will use old equipment or used gear.
@@francoisleveille409 yes but wee have 2024/2025 not 2010.
@@RMKry Or you could watch a UA-cam video like this to see if you should install it on your HDD, Sata SSD or NVME SSD.
1tb ssd lol
Great video, i have stalker 2 on my SSD crucial 500 sata i think is better change on my Samsung 980 m2.
I have a Ryzen 7900x3d with rtx 3090.
There are different m2😁

7000 read.
awsome
Who will install games on HDD in 2024? Installing games on HDD = no money. SSDs are cheap these days. Buy one. Please.
Who installing games on SSD in 2024?? NVME is the only option😂
hey i mean SSD(NVME) 🤣 installing game not nvme ssd in 2024? who is it no money?? jesus lamo
