    Tried this and it worked!! Thank you so much. Other UA-camrs suggested cutting the elastic straps and sewing on more elastic, or using glue on your head to hold the small wig in place, this by far was the best and easiest way to make a smaller wig fit, and nobody suggested this but you. You're THEE best :) Thanks!

      I did add the elastic but it wasn't enough even though I did it several times, each a little bit longer. This stretching idea really worked. I am ecstatic!

    This also works on shoes! I put them on while they are damp and move my foot around concentrating on the part that's tight. Bingo! They fit. Learned this from an old cobbler.

    I can’t believe this.. it actually WORKED. My human hair wig would not fit at the temples causing tension and uncomfortable ear tabs , so I stretched it vertically. I cant thank you enough, you’re saving lives out here 🤣👍❤️

    I'm so glad I had 91% in the house. I sprayed the wig wefting parts, partic over the ears but didn't go "crazy" with the spraying. Wanted to take it step by step and not saturate it entirely - for fear I'd make it too big. I can already feel the difference in this cool new wig I bought. I love it. Thank you - you are immensely adorable and very cool!!

    I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Wigs never fit me. They need at least an inch more in circumference. Another influencer mentioned to you. I just stretched my first wig and I have three to go. I'm surprised that no manufacturer has picked up on this. Perhaps you could have your own line of larger wigs. Have a wonderful day and thanks for all you do!

    Hello, BZ. I bought a "test" wig to try your stretching method. For the most part, it worked. It doesn't feel tight at all. There is good stretch from front to back. I hate that it can't stretch from side to side. I may buy some combs to sew into the wig. The front hair (synthetic) look a little dull from the alcohol. Thanks a lot!

    Hi Bobby, do you have a link for how to put your own lace front on top of the lace front wig to match your skin. Also to give more room when you put the wig on. My wig typically hurts the side of my edges and front middle part of my hair. I end up pulling the hair back, cause it feels uncomfortable. Happy Holidays!!!

    Questions:
    1. Does it matter if the hair is human or synthetic?

    Do you have advice on stretching out dome cap wigs?

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  7 років тому +4

      Chances are if the dome cap wig is too small, it was made on a wig form that was significantly smaller than your head. And since a dome cap is solid versus open liek a traditional wig, you're limited with the amount of stretch that can be added.

    I have long hair AND a big head. should I put my hair up or leave it down? should I cover my hair in plastic wrap to protect my color? Most wigs are too small for my 21.5 inch head (not including a braid!). I love your videos!!!

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  8 років тому +1

      +erin oneill 21.5 inch is actually on the small size for a head (average is 22.5-23), you must have a LOT of hair or you're not getting your hair as flat and smooth as possible to your head. But to answer your question, I would recommend putting your hair up before stretching. A plastic bag should protect against your color.

    I have s questions; does the alcohol damage the synthetic hair fibers? Once you get it to stretch a bit do you wait for it to completely dry and then wash and/or deep condition the wig? Thanks! BTW...I love your tutorials!

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  6 років тому +1

      Alcohol does not damage the synthetic fiber but it can dry out human hair with excessive overuse. You don't have to wash or condition the wig after stretching it out, the alcohol disappears once it's dry.

  • @jerickzane
    @jerickzane 9 років тому +2

    I did this on a regular basic cap wig with wefting and let it dry on a foam head and seems to have shrunk back down a bit. Should I wear this thing till it dries? Just a curious question. Love your videos. J~

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  9 років тому +2

      Styrofoam heads are TINY, about 20-21 inches around and if you feel it's necessary to stretch a wig I would think your head is significantly larger and you're somewhere in the 23-24 range, so it's totally possible that it shrunk back down a bit when it dried on the head. You don't have to wear it until it's dry, maybe try stretching it with your hands and applying it again a few times to help air it out and dry a bit quicker.

It's not a lace front, just a run of the mill wig cap with wefting and material in the front (it has straight bangs). The strip is very thin and sewing makes me afraid it will tear. I have no hair of my own to use clips. Also, does the pantyhose on your head trick work, where you bobby pin the wig to the hose? This wig is pretty back heavy so I need to have it secured real good in the front.....help?

      You can totally sew the tape tabs into the wig, just use very small stitches and a very small needle. They will need replaced every so often.

    Does this work on human hair wigs too? Or just synthetics?

    I have a full lace wig i need to stretch out because its too small on my head. Would it work?

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  8 років тому

      +Isa Hopper Possibly, it depends upon how the wig is constructed and what type of lace was used. I've never tried it on a full lace, but I would be worried about warping the fit trying to stretch it with alcohol. It may be best to either purchase another one in a larger size, or add some panels behind the ear or at the nape to fit better.

    will the alcohol stretching technique work for wigs made on wig caps bought at a beauty supply?

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  8 років тому

      +Yamata Carter Possibly. But if the wig was made on a styrofoam head which are teeny tiny, it most likely won't stretch it enough.

    I have a dome cap it fits but it is very slightly tight will this work to stretch it

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  7 років тому +1

      Possibly? Chances are if the dome cap wig is too small, it was sewn on a wig form that was significantly smaller than your actual head size. And since a dome cap wig has a solid cap versus an open cap like a traditional wig, you're limited with the amount of stretch that can be added.

      +WigginOutBZ ok thanks and I have a head thats 24 inches and I am 23 and half ..yeah I have a big ass head ..but when I tried on my cap even before I made my wig it was the same kinda tight feeling....Since your head is a 24 inch what brand of dome caps do you use or recommend for big heads ...I have the biggest head of any female that I have come across and males too... just a shame ...lol

      Aww, hehe. I personally don't use a dome cap when I make wigs, I use the open type caps. You could maybe stretch the cap with alcohol before you make the wig?
      I have seen people make slits in the dome cap in between the wefting rows to give the cap a bit more room!

      +WigginOutBZ... I know this is different but what about caps that already stretch and they have two other straps , I cut them but the hair ( lace front) doesn’t reach my hair line. I have a big ass head. 24 in. But I have a small forehead .

      I'm not sure what you're asking? The wig shown has stretch in the cap and has the two adjustable straps.

    Does the stretching stay in place after the process, or do we need to re-stretch the wig after every wear or every wash?? I have a high crown I guess, my wigs fall shortest above my ears. Any suggestions?

    I have recently heard of people getting a foam head that's exactly the same size as their actual head. How does one aquire these? Are they diy?

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  5 років тому +1

      Atelier Bassi makes a dense foam head that are sized, but they're more expensive that a canvas block. I think you're hearing about people wrapping duct tape around a Styrofoam head to make it larger, which is fine if you're in a pinch but they aren't very sturdy.

    Hi. Thanks for the video. Is it ok to spray the rubbing alcohol on a human hair wig?

    • @WigginOutBZ
      @WigginOutBZ  3 роки тому

      Yes, you can! try to focus just on the cap though as alcohol can dry out human hair over time.

      Thanks! This is isopropyl rubbing alcohol from the pharmacy, but you could use some cheap vodka if you need to!

      Thankyou for replying. Vodka sounds less corrosive. Always on supply too. LOL. I'm a newby with wigs, only just order my first two. Can't wait for them to arrive. Love your video
