Snowstorm On The Dairy Farm

- A late March snowstorm was expected to hit Minnesota and bring some much-needed moisture to our very dry winter. Even if it's a snowstorm, chores still need to be done. The cows still need to be milked and fed and made comfortable during the inclement weather. After the first round of snow slowed down, Alan did a bit of cleanup around the farm. The next morning brought more snow and wind. The storm was finally wrapping up, and Conner surprised us with a quick run through the farm with his plow truck.

Trinity Dairy was established in 2006, in Minnesota. Alan and Jennifer farm with their 5 children; Jessica, Justin, Jordan, Joshua, and Jason. We milk a mix of 33 Jersey, Holstein, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, and Ayrshire cattle. We also enjoy sharing our family's love of Draft Horses and using them for logging and other farm work. Dairy Farming in Minnesota can be challenging, but it's a lifestyle we really enjoy. Subscribe today to watch our small family dairy farm and family grow while continuing to thank our Lord for the blessings we've been given.
Lol Ole Jen has a right accurate throw there Alan. Better keep that little lady happy and away from rolling pins when she’s angry. Glad to see y’all finally got a little moisture in the ground.
I hope yòu all have a blessed Easter.
Thanks, and the same to you!
Thank you for sharing. Mother nature has to play with us just so know she still here. Warm sunny days. Then bamm... let it snow. Im watched this on Easter.. so happy Easter to you and your family.
Unbelievable winter we have had always get these late snow storms yes it will help for moisture you look cold
Very good job and God bless y'all
Extra moisture for sure 👍
Always some twines to pick up and put away, meanwhile the cows friendship licks on the coat elbow as you wrap that twine... just a sweet part of farming. Have a wonderful Easter.
That was a bit of snow for sure and once again another great video. The snowball fight was worth it lol! Hope you get over your cold and hopefully don’t get flooded in! God Bless
great job your doing keep sending the videos 😊
Hope you’re feeling better ! Gargle 3 times a day with warm salt water, helps clean out the crud.
Didn’t plow any of mine. Like you said no frost now and I didn’t want to ruin the driveway. I just got my sods put back in place last week. No snow in Wisconsin now all night drizzle melted it all 2 nights ago. I remember trying to feed hay with cats on the bales. Brought back fond memories of the old days. Take care of that cough.
Stay safe in the snowstorm Alan and family
Very nice cinematography to begin your show.
Love the impromptu snowball fight. Always fun to play outside! My horses loved being outside. The only time they were inside is if there was a storm.
😂😂😂😂 boink . Glad you got moisture . I love the silence of the snow falling . Great video , God Bless
Enjoy your videos. Dont worry about the city slickers, they just dont understand. Would love to know more about your horse. Hope u feel better!!!!!
He was Jen's Dad's horse. Jen used to ride double with her dad on him when she was little. He's getting up there in age and is blind in one eye, but he holds his weight well, and any of the kids can ride him.
Dr. Mcgilicuddy makes house calls to help with that cold. If i spelt it wrong its because I've been seeing him myself!
Jen has a good arm! Bonked ya right in the noggin. Good show, great to see y'all having fun.
Best regards from Indiana.
You have a beautiful place. It seems so peaceful. Thank you for sharing it. Stay safe, and God bless.
Late season snow is a challenge...sometimes it will be melted in a couple days, but still has to be plowed to get around. Should provide some needed moisture. Hope you all have a Blessed and Happy Easter!!!
All that moisture sure is a blessing! And a little nitrogen bonus
Happy Easter everybody from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Prefect for a spring snowmobile ride.
Good moisture for the ground.
Well Allen, this is guy here in Western PA. I'm the fellow with the bn like yours. We have not had hardly any snow this winter, call my however we have had a good bit of rain but we started our spring plowing here the first part of this week this past monday. We got about an inch of rain on Tuesday which shut us down but we've had two days of windy weather now,
Your snow looks a lot better without the wind. Got 8-10 inches of snow but came with wind. Prior had rain. Glad for the moisture though. The herd looks like they are glad to be in the barn.
"Currying favor", or getting ready for an upcoming show? The young lady has that cow looking good! I'm glad y'all are getting the snow instead of me! (Northern VA) Snow just makes the day harder, but at least you have a nice warm barn to thaw out in . Great video!
Just helping that winter coat come off, and she enjoys seeing their reactions when you hit the spot that's itchy.
@@trinitydairy Gotta love when you hit that one spot, usually around the trailhead, and they will bend a bit and rock with the combing! 👍🤣
I see the cats are keeping you guys' in line making sure do the jobs right!
Thank You for Sharing with us
Your cows look happy. Hope you get the moisture you need. Hope you feel better.
Some much needed moisture!
Just loved your video as always Alan. Yes over my years some winters of early springs you can get dumped on. Watching you I figure you will get through it. Thanks for the video.
Definitely a crazy winter. But we'll take any moisture we can get right now.
Wife's got a good arm 😂
Nice to see still ❤
Great idea on the "portable wood shed". Hope you feel better soon.
The horse has his coat on just like you!
Never stop playing
Good to see the kids using leverage.
Also teach them about the fulcrum point. Use the strength of the mind to enhance physical strength.
My comment was for another channel, Diamond C Farms. I don't know why it appeared here. This is the second time this has happened.
We could use that moistur here in NE Mo. Like seeing your farm cats and the cows.
Happy Easter! God Bless…
Awesome video, glad you praise the snow for its moisture,I feel the same way, some in our area grumble about snow,God bless
Great winter day on the farm
Hope U feel better soon. I singed my beard pretty good one time feeding the furnace. U ever do that? lol
Yeah I got my eyebrows good a couple times.
Great video, I’m glad you got the snow instead of us, I live in Wisconsin. Have a blessed day!
good stuff folks, keep it coming, earl grey and honey Alan and a hug from the family should fix you up
Love your videos brother may GOD CNTINYOU TO BLESS U AND YOURS
👀🙄🐾👍 Interesting video Alan
I'm so glad you got some moisture!
Alan you know what they say if wanna change give the weather 5 minutes ha take care of yourself thanks for sharing
take care of that cold
Snowman building snow. I'll take it. At least it won't get brutally cold. Glad you didn't chuck a snowball at me!!
Don’t feel alone we have the same coughing cold here in Ohio it’s been lasting three weeks. Barn work still has to be done.
must admit kinda pretty good lord my horses are out even below zero they prefer it and no blankets
Some very good moisture Thank you for the wonderful video 😊😊😊😊😊
Have a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup and take care of that cold Alan. The snow fall looks rather peaceful. Some say it is a poor man's fertilizer.
Not many days a dairy farmer can call in sick. 😎

Yeah we ended up with about 14" inches. You going to Rock Creek Consignment sale? We are gonna head down there's a few things we could use. Maybe we see yous guys there.
Yeah, I'm planning on being there.
Yeah hi Alan this is the guy from brainerd Minnesota which isn't far from you we got about the same for snow so it must have had that track but I'm glad we got the snow more so for you know the extreme dry conditions maybe this will give us a little more water in our local lakes and rivers but yeah I had to snow blow this because my wheeler wouldn't push it it's just too heavy and the using a snow blower is even worse because the ground is sod so The cutting edge is always cutting in and it just it makes it difficult. But anyway thought I'd mention that enjoying your videos.
We just got that storm in Vermont glad to see it made it over to you hehehehe
I'm about 2 hours south east of you and we got 11 inches and 2 days straight of rain after that then half a day of snow again
We mostly got rain down in se mn. Thanks for another video.
Didn't get quite finished there I had to go button too soon. I think tomorrow will be able to get back on some of our high ground and go again. We sure notice the difference in not having a snowpack mailed in slowly as compared to the rains that come and then go again quickly as long as we keep getting rain will be all right for the summer but if it stops there's no moisture there in reserve to amounts anything I don't think it matters much what the weather man in the record say well I see here there's just not a whole lot of reserve moisture in that ground
I always forget you folks have that 530 case. Would love to see that tractor in action.
Great video
My horses are always outside and they have a shelter they only use in the summer when the flies are bad
First Class
👍👍👍👍👍
You have a feisty wife! You can have Connor come back in the spring and apply clover seed or fertilizer with that truck!
Awesome video!!
your moving snow i just mowed my lawn
It's those darn school bus kids gettin you sick.
Im from Maine I've seen it snow in June here
I think July is the only month in Minnesota that has never had a snowfall.
👍
Glad you got some moisture. Any updates on the 530 Case?.
I haven't needed it, so it's just been parked there.
Hey big guy,,, let Jen know the maple sap won’t flow in this weather,, lol, lol,,, oh and shot of whiskey with your cold medicine works 😉😉😉😉
Skip both, and go to either cinnamon schnapps or moonshine. Both will clear the pipes. 😮
I was wondering what happened to the 430 case tractor and loader, I see it sits in the trees, don't you use it anymore since you have the skidsteer.
I use it some, but it needs a clutch pretty bad.
Is that Case combine a 660?
Yes, if you know anyone interested in it,it's for sale, for a parts machine.
Did they shut down the schools/buses? If so how many days?
School was closed Monday and Tuesday, then a 2-hour delay today.
Do the deer get into that silage bag at night?
We have a doe and 2 fawns that self feed.
Horses 😂😂 👌, City officials say 🐎---. Awesome, Thank you😢. 😊 (I, Years ago Farm) ▪Digger ▪

Please say your prayers to the people affected by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key bridge.
Yes definitely!
To cows and I suppose horses too, 40 degrees is like 70 degrees is to us. So 30 degrees isn't very cold for that horse. Only ignorant PETA freaks complain otherwise. Down here in Mississippi they freak out about the dogs every time it freezes. When I was a kid in Wisconsin, they did fine below 0 as long as they had a comfortable bed to curl up in out of the wind.
Our old dog, would leave the warm barn in the winter and go lay in the snow. We looked out the window one morning, and she was completely covered in snow, she got up ,shook it off , and went on with her day!
Go to the doctor- just talking should not make you cough, your body is trying to tell you some thing- and dont say you dont have time.
No fever, no problem.
