    The video answered my question (read only port 5900 tid-bit), but it would be awesome if I had the ability to feed hold or E-stop the machine from my phone or computer while viewing the control remotely. We've set up webcams to watch the machine run on longer cycles in the past (and it actually saved the machine from some real harm in one instance). If Haas could give users this ability in the future and maybe even integrate a webcam in the machine enclosure/remote viewing, well that would be just wonderful! I would definetly feel better about leaving the machines running on unproven operations.

      Yeah, I don't know why webcams are rare features on CNC's, other than maybe needing a small spinning window to remove stray lubricant. Seems kind of important for process control and lights-out work.
      Remote e-stop might be a security thing though, counterintuitively. Haas would need to up their software game.

    Is it possible to turn Remote Display on by default? Every time I power up the machine, I have to go into Remote Display and hit F4 to open the connection.

    All u can work for CNC in quarantine is just use a Haas control and uses to start the CNC Cycle start by keys in ur laptop. Or you can just prank your Co-workers by doing strange things by changing colors, changing tools and changing the programs and controls and settings in your laptop.

      Sammis VLOG - This may just be a regular issue with your network. Restart the machine, connect it (Settings>Network>Wired/Wireless), and make sure you can “Ping” it from the Windows Command Prompt, example: ping 172.21.16.34 (your IP). If you can’t ping the machine, then it isn’t connected. You’ll need to get your network folks involved. If you can ping it, but you can’t connect to the VNC viewer, there may be a firewall issue on your network. Verify the machine’s IP address and try again. - Mark, Haas Tip-of-the-day

      It seems the latest version of the controls require you to enable remote display and set a password. It should be in the same area as your connection settings.

      @@ls3acole You're right. I don't know why I didn't notice before (but it is kind of off the page). Under network, all the way to the right is remote display. Working now. Thanks

    Am I the only one slightly terrified by this? For my one-man shop this is great and I'm going to install it immediately, but I use to work for a government contractor as an IT guy and our security department would lose their minds to find out all of their mills had an undocumented, unsecured backdoor. Even being read-only the ability to monitor what a machine is working on could be considered sensitive information - even within a corporate LAN environment. Great feature, but please add a password to this or make it optional.

      They would have to break through a whole bunch of layers to get into that data stream... and then, there isnt anything they can do with it other than view your g code. so what? it moves so fast you cant even capture it with screen recorders.

    how to permanently activate the block delete function

    • @haasautomation
      @haasautomation  6 років тому

      Przemyslaw Wesolowski - If your machine has the Macros option, you can always add a line to your program to turn Block Delete on. #3032 is used with Block Delete, so #3032=1 turns it on, and #3032=0 turns it off. With any macro, we may have to use G103 P1, and G103 to block/unblock lookahead to make sure the macro is turned on/off too soon. - Mark, Haas Tip-of-the-day

    • @przemyslawwesolowski83
      @przemyslawwesolowski83 6 років тому

      Thank you very much
      If there is no macro option, you can enable it when starting the machine ?

    • @haasautomation
      @haasautomation  6 років тому

      Przemyslaw Wesolowski - There isn’t a way to permanently lock Block Delete on, on the control. If you want to always skip code in your program, can you just (comment it out)? We can use an M99 with a Pnnn to jump over entire sections of code permanently as well, see: ua-cam.com/video/EhWf66Krt0c/v-deo.html. We can turn OFF the Block Delete function, locking it with Setting 18, but that’s not exactly what you are looking for! If you have a specific task you are trying to accomplish, shoot me an email at TOD@Haascnc.com and we’ll figure it out. - Mark, Haas Tip-of-the-day
