Excellent review sir! Thank you for calling out the polymer cap aspect, also, the hidden lapel loop near them might be useful for teathering the multi-tool. purchasing the separate pocket clip and the bit exchanger and extender are on list of gear items to get this year.
I have mine with me almost all the time. I sometimes carry a LEATHERMAN Skeletool, which I also like for its small size and weight. I also picked up a Free P4 which is pretty sweet. The Wave is my favorite.
@@sinrock85 I carry it on my belt in a Maxpedition TC-3 I think it's called. That in its case with the bit kit, bit extender, flashlight and extra battery. I always have it with me and even now laying on my couch it's on my belt. Lol.
@@folksurvival There's also a point where this statement stops making sense. I mean, you wouldn't really apply that to having an aircraft carrier in your backyard, would you?
I got one a few weeks ago and I’m kinda shocked how popular this wave plus is. It’s a nice tool don’t get me wrong. But the first time I used the pliers they slipped off and pinched the shit out of the palm of my hand. Pretty bad. It’s stiff as hell. And those caps aren’t plastic. At least mine aren’t.
The oxide black on all the leatherman s seem to be more stiffer than the all stainless i think its the oxide that makes them more harder ti work with than the all stainless which is much smoother
I’ve had a few people tell me that. So I think it’s probably true. I had no idea before a couple people mentioned it. I’ve also heard it’s the same about some brands of knives.
Great video. That Wave is a tank! I’ve been thinking about picking up a Skeletool. Try some Break Free CLP on that blade. Might clean it up pretty good. Keep it up brother! 🙌🏻
Thanks man! I've never owned the skeletool but I think thats one you can get with a higher end blade if you want. I think I have some CLP somewhere, I give it a shot. The only thing I've used was some knife oil.
@@stevesgear I haven't quite decided yet. Leatherman Australia offered to replace it with a Wave +, but I don't like the replaceable screwdriver bit as it's too short. Decisions...Decisions I might buy a new one and customise it. 🇦🇺
I have over 80 Leatherman multi tools but I carry the Wave+ mostly. It's my favorite one. 😊
It is a great tool!
@stevesgear - It's absolutely is. 👍😎

Best Leatherman in my opinion ❤🔥 not too small not too big very robust

I haven’t tried those other two. I almost picked up the P4, but I like the wave so much I’ve just stuck with it. Thanks for watching!!
I love mine. I use it all the time.
Nice Buddy. I never leave my house without mine.
Do you always take it in case you need it or because you’ve left it at home before and been without it and could’ve used it?

end caps are actually stainless steel. Try scratching it ;)

Couple years into using a surge, daily carry but light use, still good as new, def gotta keep ‘em oiled up.
what oil do you use?
Nice video bro.
Leathermans are really cool. Didn't even know about them until Dave moved here.
He's still using his Leatherman Surge all the time.
This one or charge tti ?
Which one should i purchase?

Skeletool is a downgrade for 99% of uses, including edc
I've used my Leatherman Wave everyday for 23 years as a aircraft mechanic...and today she finally died.
It’s a sad day ☹️. Are you going to replace her with another? Or switch to a different one?

He obviously has great taste.
I'm in Sydney and I'm half American. 🙂
Curious how did your Wave die?
Blsck oxcude or stainless steel? Which is better?
I don’t really know which one is better, but I don’t think you can go wrong with either one
The caps on mine are metal.
That’s cool. I wonder if there was a update at some point. Maybe I’ll have to look at a new one next time I’m in a store that has them.
@@stevesgearare you sure they are polymer? I have around 30 leathermans including 3 waves and have never heard of polymer caps
@@rsafree1139late reply. My guess is they’re just colored black and are metal. Never heard of them using polymer or plastic for that.

9:48 where did you get pocket clip for Sidekick? Did it come with it or you add it yourself. Thx
It came with it. Purchased it at Sportsman’s warehouse about a year ago.
@@stevesgear thank you!
