As someone who has carried a Wave for nearly 20 years, I am glad I’ve stuck with it. The versatility of the Wave is just nearly impossible to beat. I did purchase the bit kit, which has come in handy on occasion, but by no means is an essential item. Long live the Wave!
One of the best voices and announcer delivery I have heard on any video. Relaxed with excellent diction. Great review of them, but just had to give props for the voice and audio quality.
love my wave + use it almost everyday do to my job and I really haven't had a good reason to upgrade or change it for another multitool works great every time I use it.
I've had my Wave for 15+ years and love it...BUT if the pliers slip under pressure, you can get a nasty pinch between the handles. It took me a couple of blood blisters before I learned to be more careful.
@@SuperDeinVadda Wrapping the handles with a handkerchief is the only way I've found with what I carry (other than being super careful...that only goes so far).
I like that all the tools are accessible outside on the P4 and one hand function. The magnet closure is also nice. I like my P4 and the Phillips screw driver on the P4 is also a can opener and very sturdy. The box opener on the P4 I use daily to open Amazon boxes.
Great video. In regards to both tools they really are not comparable, as they fit different needs and circumstances depending on the job at hand. I have the wave + and want the P4
Just got a wave+ to replace a lost bond, which was a replacement for my old wave. It’s honestly way too useful a tool and works for just about everything you wouldn’t already be grabbing tools for. The blade is meh but the pliers and tools have infinite uses.
Every tool on the P4 locks. It’s just an easy release mechanism. Every tool is also retained by the same locking system. Things only move when you want them to 👍
Good review. I've watched a number of Free P4 and P2 videos and I haven't seen anything that convinces me that the Frees are anywhere as good as the Wave. An extra $0 for an inferior tool? I'll pass.
Clay Hayes used the P4 HARD every day during season 8 of Alone and it held up great. Probably the best, most true field testing a multi-tool has ever had. 70+ days of survival use = definitely NOT a "wannabe" tool. ua-cam.com/video/0p62QzrTF0k/v-deo.html
@@SuperDeinVadda @alizarin700 As an EDC, I carry the Rebar with the bit adaptor kit on my keys all the time. For heavy duty work, I use the combination of the Super Tool 300 + bit adaptor + the Crunch + double bit kit, in only two sheaths. This combination can do literally everything. I also have the Wave Plus, which I was given as a present, but it keeps lying in my drawer all the time - I find no use for it because it's poor in functions, badly designed and simply not good enough.

Thanks for the vid. Helped me realize I’m sticking with the wave. I would miss the file most, bit holder second.
Nice neck to neck comparison. You’re approach was spot on. Excellent information.
Money well spent. Mahalo 🤙🏾

Yep
The last blood blister just healed on my thumb.
I wish there was a way to change it

I love look of Free when it is closed, but all tools in wave are way better.
Wave + I have carried a Wave or a Wave + everyday for over 15 years, and I do not think there is one day that I did not use it in some capacity.

p4 all the way. Nice video
Great video! I'm looking into buying my first Leatherman... your video was helpful!👍
I love my wave, but the micro driver is a waste of space. I wish it had an awl there instead.
Like my wave+

The edge file on the victorinox spirit x are whey better then on the Leatherman tools and the saw too
did the saw on the p4 close without a secure button?

WAVE + 💪
The P4 has USA stamped on the pliers head. I like that.
Great job
You missed the bottle opener on the Philips bit.
He didn't, but only mentioned it quickly in passing when discussing the can opener

cool❤❤❤
having to explain to every user i lend it to about soft hard wire cutter on jaw is annoying
Wave + drem
i stick whit the wave :)
There comes a time when thing get ridicule's .. and not worth buy .. way over priced ....
the p4 looks the pro, the wave looks like a toy
one heavyweight one wannabe
Some people love the P4… for reasons I may never understand
@@inkiron3907 because the Free series are fidget multitools !!! not the toughest but the most fun to play with. Sold my P4 tho cause it feels cheap.
Have both I love p4 more….
P4 - ALL outboard tools.

Even the cheaper Victorinox has better scisors than those 😂
The Wave is a very average multitool, whereas the Free is total shit.
If the wave is average?
What is a top notch Multitool for you?
yeah whats the top notch multitool you use?

Any Leatherman Free is a total fiasco. Stupid design, poor performance, too few functions.
