How to unstick Automatic Running Boards on a Ford Expedition and Ford F150

- In this video, I will show you what to look for if your running board(s) stick. If you hear the motor or pump make a noise, then you should check for any debris that may be in the arm of the running board. I had to spray a pentation oil on the arms to unstick them and it fixed them right up. Saved me Big $$$$$
I had a dealer quote me $1700 to replace the passenger side running board on our Expedition. They said the motors were shot and that was the only way to fix them. I bought this Blaster Penetrating Catalyst and worked them up and down for about 20 mins and they work perfectly now. Great video!
twice a year i blast them with wd40 as a degreaser and cleaner, then brake cleaner, then air and then wd 40 again and then spray silicone or spray white lithium grease and they are good to go, mine are over 12 years old on a 2009 f150 and still working fine.

the repair quoting is just to throw the parts cannon at them. not try and fix them. not sure if ford brand in the same as AMP but AMP recommends spraying them with silicon on the hinges to lubricate them so it doesn't become tacky like some penetrating oils and collect debris.
My running board broke, how can I fix it?
mine are in the upright position and they are on auto
Mine won't come down. Drivers side will not but passenger side comes down. 2013 f150 platinum

They still freeze once the snow and slush comes. Around here you have to turn off the boards for 5 months
Mine goes up and comes back down. Won't stay up. 2016 F150. I have tried the cleaning method, still not working.
