"She's nuts, but she's cool" probably the nicest thing that I've heard Claire say & it didn't even make the final cut
Joe Whitehead ugh so true
Molly nailed it!
Seriously, why didn’t that make it? Great line!!
I think they should've left this scene in. It's not on any of the DVD's I've watched. It helps to show Claire's gradual attitude change towards Allison, which we see culminate at the end with Claire making Allison pretty.
SamGuthrie1977 It might’ve been taken out for time.
She was already pretty before the makeover. Maybe even prettier.
I am _SOOO_ thankful that they never attempted to remake this masterpiece. I guess even Hollywood has their boundaries. Surprisingly.
No way this could ever be "re-done" in any way. Not modernized, not a 1985 timepiece, nothing.
The acting is just too original and one of a kind in this. Anyone who made an attempt to play any one of these character roles would just be making a complete ass of themselves. Not to mention that any good actor would never accept such a role. And would know damn well that it just cannot be re-done in any way whatsoever. (something they should've thought of before remaking the 1991 masterpiece 'Point Break'.
Kind of like when Jaimie Foxx decided to remake the classic "super group" song "We are the World". Taking some of the worst, most pathetic singers of today to attempt singing the exact same lines in the exact same way they did it back in 1985. I was so embarrassed just listening to it. Absolutely horrendous, obnoxious, pathetic noise.
Thank you for this comment. This the truth right here.
I agree man some movies should not be remade. Hollywood has ruined so many movies by remaking them and adding unnecessary sequels. Even modern movies like john wick for example. No reason why they should've made so many of those movies and they got way too far fetched.
Wow! I love this. I'm amazed it was only just released this year, and in January. That's just about a year from now.
I love Claire's line in reference to Allison, "She's nuts but she's cool." That explains so much, and says a lot in a short amount of time. One-liners like that are simply brilliant. Thanks a lot for posting this! I only wish it was embedded in the full movie.
Wait what this scene's on the blu ray?
christhegeek517 Oh! Is it? I don't own the blu ray, so I guess I wouldn't know. Haha ^^;
The Criterion release revealed that Allison was flipping off Vernon.
Oooh thank you for sharing!
Yes, and Vernon also was cursing a lot more which was edited here.
Indeed, Criterion did, BUT, it came from a 2nd generation print reel and had plenty of artifacts & grain in it. And as mentioned, it shows Allison giving the birdie to Vernon and much more lines of him swearing as well. What it boils down to was MCA/Universal's ongoing feud with Hughes, on what went to the theatres and what went to network television, none of which Hughes probably had ANY say so in the matter. Unfortunate.
BCRadio.
This scene also cut out Allison's middle finger raised towards the principal
"You ask me one more question and I'm beating the *CRAP* out of you"
man I've been trying to find this forever. In like 1997 I saw this version on the local NBC channel and I thought I was hallucinating. There was also another scene when Bender is in the gym that was new. I thought the line was "she's weird but she's cool." This is probably the theater edit, you'd be surprised how much they trimmed off of home video releases of movies. There is alot of retconning about how deleted scenes come to be, but I don't see how a low budget tv station in the 90s had access to deleted scenes.
Editors, directors, and producers can delete any scenes that they don't think it would help the movie more but just slow it down a bit more. Tv stations could access deleted scenes because when they cut the profanity, violence, or sexual content, it would make the movie way too short even with commercials added. So, they add deleted scenes to replace the "censored" footage to make the movie longer again.
Me too. I kept thinking I know I saw that
@@joelleon5738 yeah allot of scenes get deleted solely for the purpose to shave the movie down for time. Sucks but if they didnt do that, we'd have movies that are like 3 or 4 or 5 hours long😂
I always thought the gym scene was in the original theatrical release, after he volunteers to create a distraction so the rest can make it back to the library without getting caught. Maybe I’m wrong.
I would have liked to have seen this scene added back in. As others mentioned, it does signal the change in Claire’s attitude towards Allison.
0:13 ahh TV censorship
This scene was in late 1980's TV broadcasts of this film. My sister had a VHS copy that she recorded off the TV some time in the late 80's and it had this scene along with a few other now deleted scenes. I wish I knew where that VHS is.
Claire actually says something nice about someone else and it gets cut. Wow.
I can see why it was cut. Seeing Claire fawning over a weirdo takes away her dominance.
I agree, it doesn't fit type. Claire would never have voiced that aloud, especially in the presence of Bender and Andrew.
I actually saw this clip on the DVD.
The folks hanging around as Members of the Breakfast Club.
loving the tv dub of the line where he says you ask me one more question and i'm beating the shit out of you. replaced with crap lol
This wasn't a deleted scene but filler used when it was on TV. The full scene shows Alley flicking off Vernon. Also she is the cause of the mess on the floor in the room and that's from an actual deleted scene.
There's little reason to of cut out such a short scene. It does have a level of implausibility though. Believe it or not, it IS easy to slip past people, it just depends on how often the person you're trying to evade looks around. That, in itself comes down to the person getting an average idea of how often the person you'll want to evade in the future looks to their left and right- waaay ahead of time.
I love this movie forever and always it’s awesome and cool I will love it forever
Allison gives Vernon the middle finger in one version. In another cut scene, Allison causes the mess behind Vernon.
There I needs to be a did release with the scene AND the weed scene. So used to seeing this scene on TV didn't realize it was deleted but restored for TV broadcast.
If only standards and practices would allow the part where she flips off Vernon before walking away lol
The way they all look at her..x x
I remember seeing this and the other deleted scenes in the movie on channel 13 in Seattle. I wish I could find em in widescreen so I could add em to the movie.
*Everyone else walking and talking*
Allison in the background: 🚺
This is a scene that I wish was in the movie
Now that's what I call, humongous balls!!
haha excellent hidden surprise ^^
i dunno about the theatrical version but this scene was definitely in the film when it aired on tv in the 80's
I cringe so hard at the censorship of the word shit and replacing it with crap
Would you ever consider uploading the full broadcast to another service?
if its not in any of the releases where did you get it from? is it from one of the television airings?
its so frustrating they dont put out a version with all the scenes. unless they have since then?
This isn't a deleted scene. The TNT logo is shown. It is legit scene.
It was deleted from the theatrical release. TNT showed extra footage (including this) in its initial broadcasts, but never afterwards.
can we just talk about how poorly edited that replacement was? you can hear the jump in the audio where shit was replaced with crap
Not sure if this is really a deleted scene. I've seen it many tunes before. From the yearly showing on wpix here in NY throughout the 90's, to the cable TV showings.
sfactor7 Yeah it was only aired in TV, but unreleased anywhere else
Yea I think that might be it. I grew up on the tv version.
O Filme O Clube dos Cinco é depois do filme Gatinhas E Gatões
I'm Han Solo!
Ó Claire do Filme Clube dos Cinco você se lembra da Xuxa
This scene wasn’t deleted
Aí aí a alisson é muito gata 😍😍😍😳😳😳😳
What's the point going to bender's locker beats me so then what are we doing if you ask one more question im beating chap out of you sorry
