UPDATE: I don't recommend putting the Aeroccino 4 in the dishwasher. After several tries, the dishwasher dulled the bottom electrical connection and caused the Aero4 to spin slower. After a week, the whisk speed returns to normal, but I won't put it back in the dishwasher. Besides, a rinse and light cloth scrub will get out any milk after use. The Aero 4 non-stick ceramic coating is better than the Aero 3. Disappointing issue for an otherwise very good upgrade. Also, has anyone tried switching the bases for the Aeroccino 3 and 4? Are they interchangeable?
I suspect this is a detergent problem, honestly. If you're using a tab or pod or whatever prepackaged dosage of detergent, those are typically much harsher and will cause issues like this. Those tabs are handy, but they are suboptimal for cleaning. A powder prerinse and gel wash cycle has been the best in my experiences -- the powder is a lower dose and faster, works to break things down without harming the dishes, and the gel is a gentler but higher dose that runs for longer. YMMV, but worth considering in my opinion!
@@craftcoffeespot I would just return it then, its already ridiculously overpriced for what it does, a little motor whisk and a heater , so if it cant do what it says then it should be returned. I'm very unhappy with mine and will return it
Thanks for the video. I purposely watched this video to find out if the 3 was dishwasher safe. However your update was interesting as I was going to purchase the 4 based on the fact that is was safe to put into the dishwasher. Thanks again.
I have owned one of these for over a year and have never felt the need to put mine in a dishwasher, just a quick rinse under the tap and a sponge clean with warm water and washing up liquid is more than enough to keep it clean.
You can use the lid to control the milk texture because the lid traps heat and makes the Aeroccino froth faster, leading to a less textured milk. So: leave the lid on while frothing = faster froth and less foam; Lid off = slower froth and more foam.
Did you ever get an answer to if the bases are interchangeable between the 3 and the 4? I’ve got a Citiz with the base for the 3 built into the side of it, but would like to swap to using a 4 with it if possible! Seems impossible find out for sure on this 😂
Thanks! Very helpful. I have both and I was thinking that my 4 was maybe not as effective as my three but I have also never really used the final two buttons. Now I understand why. 😂
Can I ask a quick question? Does the 4 work when using the 3's base? I always get this question, but can't test it since I no longer own a A3! Would like to know if you can test and confirm/dent this. TIA!
Very informative and great video, It would be nice to see the Smeg milk frother compared as well. I was wondering though is the aerocino 4 nonstick coated on the inside like the aerocino 3? I would rather have no nonstick coating since you can scrap it off if you use a metal spoon and since nonstick if pretty unfriendly to the environment.
The Aeroccino 4 has a ceramic interior while Aeroccino 3 is Teflon. The interior is more durable and scratches less than the Aero 3. Can’t say whether it’s nonstick. I’ll look into the Smeg!
If all you want is airy milk for cappuccino, is it worthwhile to pay more for the Aerocinno 4? Which one one make the airy almost solid foam for a classic cappuccino?
Hi like your vdo. Very informative. I m considering to buy aeroccino 4 but just wonder does Aeroccino 4 fit the base and function on Aeroccino 3? We have the nespresso machine that attached with the milk froster on the side. And wondering if we can just swap the unit with the aeroccino 4 so we dont have to use a separate outlet. Thanks
Convinced me to upgrade to the Aerochino4, even though the 3 is on sale for $50. That said, this will be the most unrelated question you might ever get. What microphone are you using to shoot? It sounds like you're 2" away from a high quality studio mic, but you're clearly not - and there's no telltale 'under the shirt' bulge of a lavalier microphone. I'm stumped. How are you get that completely amazing audio?
That would be a question for my director. I used a local studio to shoot and used all of his equipment, so I don't know the brand. I know it was a premium mic and he also cleaned up audio gaps in post-production. He is fantastic and all credit goes to him for the excellent audio.
I had this happen a month ago. Had a weird process of unplugging it, and restarting a few times. Then, it started frothing again…I think the whisk wasn’t being properly attached or cleaned. I still recommend contacting Nespresso, even if after warranty. They can offer basic troubleshooting. Sorry this isn’t more specific…
Does the Aeroccino 4 have an audible alarm to notify when the process is finished? I have a "3" and I'm always getting distracted and if I'm late getting back to it, even a minute, the milk has separated and it's useless. If not, are there any other frothers that have this feature?
So on the aeroccino 3 if you remove the metal piece we get a thicker foam? I just bought one and was wondering why the foam was airy and light and didn’t like that. I’ll try that tip. Thank you
Aerochino 4 doesnt work at all for me, i will try one last time today with lactose free milk, after that ive tried every permutation and all i got is hot milk with a tiny bit of froth on top, which i could easily just do in the microwave. So one more chance and then its going straight back to Amazon (hope its paying attention)...
For that milk, you should return it. Some milks don’t froth, usually more esoteric milks or really low in fat/protein milks. No problems with dairy milk, and oat (from Oatly or Trader Joe’s), but some milks won’t froth without the right fat or protein content. You can try a whole milk to see what’s possible - if that doesn’t work, then it truly is defective and you should tell Nespresso… I still love the Aeroccino 4. I am trying other frothers, from breville to cheap options, and Aeroccino is the best.
@@craftcoffeespot I got it to work finally, i was about to just return it. The cold setting works really well, i think also the amount has to be very precise for it to work optimally. But i can get fully thick milk now, all the way through, not just the top... So i'm very happy, i trust i can get the hot settings to work also given enough time. Unfortunately its not success proof but thats fine.
@@craftcoffeespot I also think my expectations are very high coming from a proper espresso steamer (it broke), but with these last couple of attempts its pretty much the same and with a ton less work

For cappuccino, you only need an Aeroccino 3. Its lone speed is high and creates a thick foam.
