Are you still happy with Radiator? Any issues?

well thanks for the video I think we were wanting to see them fans in action I know that alloy works is a big seller on eBay I was interested in buying that same radiator with the fans on it but I have a 390 so I'm not sure if those fans would be adequate enough I asked some questions and that they were told to be 1750 CFM for each fan which would make it around 3,400 CFM for both of them together.

Ya I’m definitely behind on my videos! I have put a few thousand miles on the Aloyworks set up and I have had zero issues with it not keeping the motor cool. I did 200 miles with it over the weekend 1/2 towing a small trailer. It never went over 185° and it was about 96° out. I ran an Alloyworks rad in my ‘72 with a factory 390fe and a mechanical fan. It kept it pretty cool but it would get warm in traffic but never overheat. The best option might be to add some high output fans on the Alloyworks rad.

@@Petrol360 yeah thanks for the reply I have a 69 f250 with a 390 I bought it about 5 years ago the motor was in bad shape when I bought it it seemed like the previous owner had overheated the motor it had a fan clutch on it with the stock fan shroud and it had a three-row radiator on it.
All in bad shape I had thought that the camper special models came with the four row heavy duty cooling but maybe that was an option? When I first replaced my radiator with an aluminum two row they were pretty expensive there wasn't a lot of eBay sellers like there is today now you can get a four row for $179 bucks on eBay they're all from China maybe not made by the same company but they're all made from China, anyway I had my eyes on these although I had already bought the four row radiator and it's installed on my truck right now there was a separate eBay seller that sold just the fan shroud with the fans on them but they're saying that the single 12 inch fan is rated at 1,750 RPM that sounds like a lot for a 12-in fan so together they should produce about 3,400 CFM.
I'm about to put a 160 thermostat in my 390 it does not overheat but it does get hot in the summer here in SoCal it could be 95° out and in traffic it starts to creep up over 200 I have a flex fan on it right now with a 17-in pusher on the front and I think my problem is the thermostat it is a 180 but I think it would be better in the summer to run a 160.

Also I'm changing out the flex fan I bought it used and it's a little wobbly so I bought one of those star design ones from derail performance it's 18 in but it's the compact thin design so I'm going to put it right up against the radiator core maybe one inch from the radiator the fan shroud on my stock 69 it never did the job but it was supposed to do I don't know if it was just a problem in that year whenever I go to a car show or I see a picture of one on UA-cam I always take a snapshot of it or look at the person's radiator to see how different theirs is for my 69.
The radiator was way far away from the motor I think the shroud was about 4 in deep and the fan clutch blades were not even inside the fan at all they were just right at the outside of the fan shroud I think you're supposed to have like a quarter of the blades inside so it can scoop the air out like a vacuum but it never did run right so I took the fan shroud off and I actually put spacers from the radiator support in between the radiator to push the radiator closer to the fan and I'm running an All-Star performance 3-in spacer so I'm not really sure if they had issues like this in 69 and they changed the design in 70 and up but I've noticed that the later trucks like say 72 and up the radiator is a lot closer to the engine.

Thanks man! I actually sold that truck about a year ago. I don’t hold onto projects for to long I have my fun then pass them along for someone else to enjoy. I have to many ideas in my head that I want to build to hold onto all of them!
