I work for BMW and this video is spot on. This car pulls 140 on the highway so quick it will turn your brain to mush. Executive wheel burning at its finest.
I gifted my 328i to my wife as I planned on getting a 340i. However, my local dealer has a 2014 M5 with about 22k miles. I'm very very strongly considering it now. Great review!
Ended up going for a used 2017 340i. Just made more financial sense to me at this point and I'm really enjoying the car! Maybe in the future I'll own an M5 or M3. Cheers!
This review is spot on. Buying used there is nothing that will come close to it. I bought mine 16 months ago, used for £32500 (pounds, UK based). It was a late 2013 (2014 LCI model) with 20,000 miles on it. I use it daily, have put 15,000 miles on it and could still get over £30,000 for it if I sold it. Amazing. The point about roll on speed is absolutely true, it is ridiculous for such a big car. Also make sure you know what you are doing before you start switching the traction control off, it is a complete beast and can scare the shit out of you....(me anyway).
+NOW 1234 thanks for the comment I'm glad you're liking your M5 it is a beast. I know what you're talking about with the traction control. I used to turn mine off all the time the power comes on so fast that you'll end up over drifting you definitely have to learn it. Thanks again for watching my video👍
I am a huge fan of the F10 chassis M5. I think BMW has created a true timeless masterpiece that'll never feel dated. I would love to buy one here in UK but I'm 21 and the insurance of that beast will cost me arm and a leg. Now you can pick up a 2011 model for £28,000 or so. If i was to get this car I'd go for like the one with individual beige or tan interior or I might do a full interior swap from the newer G30 series or F90 M5, but then that project will make my M5 an ultimate keeper. And I'm pretty sure your M5 does decent MPG. I'm gonna get the F10 520D M-sports off my uncle for now, he bought it when the car has 20,000 miles on it and now after 3 years of ownership, it has 189,000 and still runs new.
NOW 1234 hi, I am looking to get myself an M5 around Christmas (hoping to get some decent bargain when the used market is dead). I am after 2014 with 30-40k on the clock, hopefully will get it below 35k. Did you get yours from BMW approved stock or bought it from an independent used car dealer? Any thoughts whether it is worth paying that 5-10% premium for an approved used car? You have done a fair amount of driving in this so in terms of maintenance did you pay over and above usual wear and tear? 3-4 year old is nothing for these cars but since you can pretty much bet that M5 was driven hard by the previous owner so just a wee bit of concern there vs say a used 520d. Thanks
Hi there, I just ordered a 2014 registered M5 (data sheet provided by UK BMW dealer shows it was actually manufactured in 2013) with 15000 miles on the clock. price is 37000£. Any issued with this car, will it go on up to 90000 trouble free, or are there potentially huge repair costs looming as a matter of course before the, all other things being equal i.e. regular servicing from a bmw dealer?
There is NOTHING more satisfying then zipping in and out of traffic at high speeds, with total control, and absolute confidence in one of these!! It’s almost unfair.
Has to be the best M5 review on youtube. My feelings exactly on what a M5 is and what it can do. I just bought a M5 with competetion package and I cant wait to pick it up. Excellent job well done, I really enjoyed it!

Have had a '13 with the '14 steering wheel and of course the updated grille already fitted for 10 months and got to say it is the best car on earth for me.It also has a switch for louder exhaust via butterflies on the outer pipes which is switched on almost always. What works for me is that it blends in like a cheapo 520 model and people have to look twice to see its something different and by the time they realise its different your way down the road! Whatever you do in life make sure part of it is driving one of these.
+Mr Dollar nice man I love it. I love that you have a passion for good automobiles and M5 is an exceptional high quality car. Thanks for watching my video👍
I've never owned a BMW (driven plenty though) as I always said my first BMW would be an M car. So, in the meantime I've owned VW/Audi/Mercedes and I must say- I absolutely love Mercs; so comfortable and they have all bells and whistles one could want, they're really nice to take the family around.... Now though, the time has come where I can get something a bit special and I've always thought the F10 M5 was just stunning; my dilemma is that the E63 AMG exists. Here in the UK, they're similarly priced if anything the E63 is about 10% more expensive than the equivalent M5 and having owned several Mercs over the years I have a certain confidence and affinity towards them. But... Ok, I'll be honest, I haven't even finished watching this video; I paused at 01:54, starting writing this comment and can hardly take my eyes of the car- it's gorgeous! 😍😍😍 Ok- I think my mind's made up! Sold! 😂
+Herbert Lemmons thanks for the comment man. I wish that was my house. but it is my shop. I've been in the car industry for 23 years and I've had several shops. I built this one last year and tried to make the shop pretty sweet. Thanks again.👍
Spot on review; I love mine and agree completely with your assessment. Had read they were really underrated HP-wise, but your dyno numbers are unreal. I read they wake up even further with just a simple tune, no mods.
+Kevin Davis thanks for the commen.t and thanks for watching my review. The M5 is an amazing car. I believe it's a great value. I'm pretty sure you can do drop in air filters a downpipe and a Flash and get a pretty good power bump.👍
Brandon - love this review! I got a loaded, full leather, 2015 BMW M5 Competition this year with 15K miles for less than $57K. Its everything you said in your video. Best M car I have ever had (including an e46 M3)!

Best review to date for F10 M5, couldn't agree more even in 2024. I have had many fast cars including Evos, S4, STS V, P85D, ISF, GSF, recently bought 2015 M5 Competition and its the fastest out of all of them. Not 0-60 car but definitely King of the highway. Best bang for the buck! Too much car for the money. But I do plan on keeping it long term. Great reciew man! i had seen your review couple years back and just cme across it again and couldn't agree more on anything you said about it.
Great review Brandon! I just bought a 2013 with 44k miles on it for 41k from a Benz dealership. Car was 109k new crazy just like you said! So excited cant wait for it to arrive (being shipped)! Test drove one a couple of weeks back and I was totally sold! Yeah Baby! :)
Trey Kubena so you found the one you wanted out of town and had it shipped? Did you look at it first or no? Did you get it inspected? I’m just curious bc I’m buying one as well
Hey @@coryohanlan194 - Yeah got a 2013 out of town. I didn't go see it but in hindsight I would recommend doing so. I had the salesman send me tons of pictures and high res videos as well. All and all the car is in great shape and I'm happing but it did show up with about a grand in damage to the rear low side. A nasty scratch "some one" caused and tried to cover up very poorly. The dealership (Benz) said it was the shipper and of course the shipper said the opposite and even showed me phots before he loaded it at the dealership. Long store short after they said they would fix it go ahead and sign off, they only had about $350 in mind. I went to multiple shops and to do it right it was around a 1000. So in the end they just split the cost so it was a bad buying experience. Next time I would just fly in and drive it back. Yes had it inspected and BMW and Benz said they also did their own inspection, carfax etc
Do you like the 2014 Mercedes E63 S or 2014 BMW M5 better?

I considered buying the current M5/M6 for a while but decided to buy a 2010 Monaco blue M6 with 35k miles...I'm a huge F1 fan! Thank you very kindly the info. Ps. I had an E39 M5 for seven years!
+Sam Toure I am also a huge F1 fan that was a pretty good race this last week in Spa. Those force India guys are crazy not getting along too good. I love the V10 M6 it's a badass car. overall I've had good luck with them. the only thing that I've seen go wrong is the throttle body actuators and the Clutch & Clutch solenoid. but if you maintain the car it should be pretty good for you. such a beast of a motor with crazy top end.👍
Thanks for the video. I thought that was Utah and then I was sure when I saw Timp in the background at the end. I just bought a 550i xDrive. I love skiing too much and the versatility of xdrive to go with a rear wheel xDrive - but as you note the future M5's are going to be all wheels so maybe in 10 - 12 years a 5 year old used M5 all wheel will be in the cards. Until then I'm enjoying the 550i xDrive substantially. Although I do miss my 330xi e46 which was a pleasure to drive as well. Great naturally aspirated inline 6 as you know. A common theme throughout - stability at speed, and poise. My 3 series was also totally solid and very comfortable cruising at 120 mph too, very surefooted. The 550i I don't have to tell you, is like the m5, so stable and comfortable at speed - yet beautiful to drive. I took it to Heber last week and what a blast driving Highway 40 in that thing, effortless passing at highway speeds even in Normal mode. Life is so much more than cars and these silly indulgences. But these machines are seductive.
+Eric Wadley Eric it looks like you get it. you have a passion for cars and driving. I'm excited for you and your 550 xDrive that's a great car you will love it. just keep up on your maintenance and that car will treat you well. You're right life is so much more than cars but they make me happy. so for now I'm going to keep driving cool ones thanks.👍
I really enjoyed your video and thanks for posting. You have the same smile driving as I have driving mine every single day. Great review! Your comments are spot on. I just made my F10 M5 even crazier with the Dinan Stage 2 tune and I'm also on a full RPI GTM exhaust with Dinan sway bars and KW HAS suspension. It's just such a fantastic car in every regard and I love that I have the two kid seats in the back and can turn around and just have so much fun on mountain runs and track days.
+ykjones thanks so much for your kind words. I'm glad you liked my video. your M5 sounds so awesome it is the perfect all-arounder for you and your family and you can still get out and have a little fun. thanks again I really appreciate it 👍
Hey fellow M5 user, i got mine like 2 years ago a 2015 M5 with competition package and the car is still rolling strong, i hope yours is trouble free too because you seem to love it as much as i love mine peace.
Lovely car lovely garage lovely review, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you for the visual pleasure this is my next car I'm moving to Germany from London and I will make the best of the autobahn and the nurburgring.
This is the best review of this beautiful machine. I have been contemplating for months on what I want(cause I’m a tru car guy). 13 e92 Dct or 14 550i M sport. But then I though after I watched this video. I can have the Dct of the e92 and the body and motor of the 5 series. My best option is an M5. I own my business and I dnt wanna seem to race Carie but I need a car that can cray the wife and kids and I can get squirrely on a back road. Thank you for helping in my decision. You got a sub from me.
I would say this is the perfect car for someone who can't afford to have both a awesome daily and a fun weekend car. With this car you can do pretty much anything you want to.
Just bought a 2015 M5 exec led lights, black sapphire with 20” factory satin black 353m wheels... basically I feel like I’m driving Batman’s car, it’s gorgeous :)
So beautiful sport sedan 👍 F10 M5 look better than G30 M5 ,E39 M5..... Titanium Silver,& Space Grey matching the Rim .....Interior design look younger than another brand but still look Luxury 👍👏👌
I love this review thank you. Can anyone kindly tell me how safe this is as a rear wheel drive? I am about 6 months away from affording the new awd and would like to get this for the time being I have a child and so would like to know how practical it is? Thank you. Rav.
My m5 2014 competition can do 205m/h or 330km/h, it is definitely the king of highway because only a handful of cars can keep up with M5. i got mine for 56.000 Euros with 27.000KM with 2 years of BMW Premium Selection Warranty That's a ultra bargain for such a car, brand new was 139.000 euro
According M5 Ring taxi drivers on Nurburgring, The M5 F10 is very very reliable. The S63 engine has the same displacement as the N63 but it the only thing they share. The S63 is a complet different engine. Here in Germany the S63 which has been well maintened (oil change every 10000km) they can do 400000 or 500000km without any problems.
Thank you for watching my review. I haven't had an M5 passed about 55,000 miles but the only thing that I have ran into is they need a spark plug service around 50000 miles it's about 500 bucks because the spark plugs are kind of hard to get to. but besides that I feel like it is a very well-built awesome car that should last a long time😎👍
What are your thoughts on a used F10 M5 vs a used F80 M3? Both are four door sedans but very different ... I’m looking for a nice sport sedan and used examples of each are in a similar price point .. high 40’s. Pros / cons of each?? Now in 2020 the F10 is a bit dated looking but still amazing... i want a daily driver that hauls ass ..and is fun to drive
I love your video! I live in Canada and I am currently looking at a 2012 M5 with 80k miles on it for about 37,000 USD. I'm concerned about the reliability with such high mileage. Any thoughts?
+Jonathan John I didn't know they made an M5 in 2012. here in the states the first one was a 2013 for the F10 chassis. but if that's what you meant I feel like the F10 chassis have been really reliable very high build quality and it should be a good car for you👍
Does anyone know if this is the Silverstone or Space Grey silver? I’m leaning one way, but I can’t tell because of the sun I rewatched the video and dur, he says it in the first few minutes. Its Sapce Grey
Hi. I drive a X6M50d and is looking to by this M5 as a second car. How has it been holding up over the time you had it? Has there been any drawbacks on getting the M5 in your opinion. I am stuck between the M5 (80%) and a M4 (20%) but are looking at the obvious pitfalls before I buy
The f10 m5 is a very reliable car only real services I saw owning and selling many of these cars was at about 50,000 mi that needed a spark plug service which was about $500 besides that I feel like the drivetrain is reliable 😎👍

I extreamly agree your saying as The king of the highway
Great review, yeah I'm gonna have to get one.
It's a joy to see you so happy.
+ole seegelken thank you very much. I have a serious passion for automobiles. I am lucky I do what I love. it's hard for me to hide my emotion.
I'm sold, thank you.
Man I own a BMW 550i for $14,000 its awesome car the best I’ve ever driven in my life!!! 💯❤️❤️🙏🏽👏🏽💪🏽
Lovely car lovely garage lovely review, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you for the visual pleasure this is my next car I'm moving to Germany from London and I will make the best of the autobahn and the nurburgring.
great video..im crazy to get an M5...this is my year..love the color.
I actually prefer the stock '19 wheels. Makes the car more of a sleeper I think.
thanks for the comment .i like the 19 inch wheels to. but the car dealer in me wont let me buy because i no the 20 inch wheel help the resale.
This guy just reassured my purchase and I haven’t even bought the vehicle yet
Lol you're going to love you m5😎👍
"It's faster then ur buddys corvette" Big savage. Dropped a sub for that one. As for a better car under 50k, the m6. lol
Nice review I’m looking to get one I’ve been driving 528i but m5 it’s an amazing car 🚘
GREAT video and review. Loved it
I would say this is the perfect car for someone who can't afford to have both a awesome daily and a fun weekend car. With this car you can do pretty much anything you want to.
+TheDestroyer32 Its deftly a good all arounder it rips on the freeway and is fun to play with around in town to.👍
Just bought a 2015 M5 exec led lights, black sapphire with 20” factory satin black 353m wheels... basically I feel like I’m driving Batman’s car, it’s gorgeous :)
You're going to love it man. It's a great car. Punches above its weight😎👍
Hi there. Your video is one of the reasons I bought one. It's an awesome car .
That's awesome I appreciate you watching my review😎👍
So beautiful sport sedan 👍 F10 M5 look better than G30 M5 ,E39 M5..... Titanium Silver,& Space Grey matching the Rim .....Interior design look younger than another brand but still look Luxury 👍👏👌
I love how you love this car. I’m sold. I was contemplating a 550i because of the xdrive but who cares lol!
Great review. U made me a believer
I’m sold on this one but are you sure you aren’t a BMW salesman? 😂 Good review!
I do love BMWs 😂. BMW you should hire me I've probably sold a bunch m5.
Thanks for watching the review
As you have owned or driven both, If you had to pick one for overall daily driving which would it be?
F10 M5
W212 E63 S AMG
Superb review! I love my M5!
I love this review thank you. Can anyone kindly tell me how safe this is as a rear wheel drive? I am about 6 months away from affording the new awd and would like to get this for the time being
I have a child and so would like to know how practical it is?
Thank you.
Rav.
I drove an M6, which is very similar to this car mechanically, between St. Petersburg and Moscow. My god does it bend time.
What’s a great great review, good job.
Thanks so much😎👍
car looks great with that tint
A Beast Mine is 2015 with competition package is crazy fast
When you released this video the f90 was not released yet and now the f90 production ended already, waiting for the g90
Awesome review, love these cars!
Thanks Richard really appreciate it😎👍
You are a good man ✌️
My m5 2014 competition can do 205m/h or 330km/h, it is definitely the king of highway because only a handful of cars can keep up with M5. i got mine for 56.000 Euros with 27.000KM with 2 years of BMW Premium Selection Warranty That's a ultra bargain for such a car, brand new was 139.000 euro
Spot on! Thx for the review...
+JMD535 thanks man I really appreciate it. and thanks for watching my review.👍
How an it be a King when its a Jack of all trades
According M5 Ring taxi drivers on Nurburgring, The M5 F10 is very very reliable. The S63 engine has the same displacement as the N63 but it the only thing they share. The S63 is a complet different engine. Here in Germany the S63 which has been well maintened (oil change every 10000km) they can do 400000 or 500000km without any problems.
Nice review! I need this.
Does this car have any major problems down the line ? I’m looking to buy one myself that’s why I watched this review . Amazing review btw loved it.
Thank you for watching my review. I haven't had an M5 passed about 55,000 miles but the only thing that I have ran into is they need a spark plug service around 50000 miles it's about 500 bucks because the spark plugs are kind of hard to get to. but besides that I feel like it is a very well-built awesome car that should last a long time😎👍
The king 😎
+Beka Machurishvili LOL I did say it's the king of the highway the M5 rolls out.👍
What are your thoughts on a used F10 M5 vs a used F80 M3? Both are four door sedans but very different ... I’m looking for a nice sport sedan and used examples of each are in a similar price point .. high 40’s. Pros / cons of each?? Now in 2020 the F10 is a bit dated looking but still amazing... i want a daily driver that hauls ass ..and is fun to drive
Such a beast, it age well.
Yes this car will age well for sure. it punches above its weight class. it really is a beast. thanks for watching😎👍
I love your video! I live in Canada and I am currently looking at a 2012 M5 with 80k miles on it for about 37,000 USD. I'm concerned about the reliability with such high mileage. Any thoughts?
+Jonathan John I didn't know they made an M5 in 2012. here in the states the first one was a 2013 for the F10 chassis. but if that's what you meant I feel like the F10 chassis have been really reliable very high build quality and it should be a good car for you👍
What a badass car and badass review😅
Thanks man 😎👍
Shouldve got ext leather in my opinion only option actually is a must in my book. Sick car overall though. Beast of a car i like the ext color.
Just picked up ‘16 m5 CP with less than 25k miles omg in love with it.
Gotta get a radar detector. What you recommend?
Great review!
jnice v thanks man I really appreciate it.👍

+Daniel mcnalp thanks man I really appreciate you watching my video.👍
Does anyone know if this is the Silverstone or Space Grey silver? I’m leaning one way, but I can’t tell because of the sun
I rewatched the video and dur, he says it in the first few minutes. Its Sapce Grey
Oooohhhh THOSE SIDEMARKERS ,i just love how us models look with them,i hate in Europe we do not ghet them with that.
Yes yes. My next car purchase right there. Maybe a blue one though :)
I feel so bad as I own 4 cylinder 520 😅
I don't feel bad very lucky to drive these really cool cars. thanks for watching my video😎👍
