Sorry but is nobody else utterly baffled with how rapid that mini was in the rearview camera?? Right from the start it was accelerating almost as hard as that M5 which is a nigh on 600BHP car and it kept up for a good long while only falling back when there was a long fast section where the BMWs extra power allowed it to create a gap. Wonder what they have done in mods as normally those little minis only have a MAX 300bhp from a sub 2 litre engine.
I’ll admit, my F10 M5C is my semi daily commuter car, which I’ll do a couple of highway pulls here and there. It’s so cool to see something that I own being driven at 10/10ths of its capabilities by a pro. Thanks for the footage my guy, be safe out there.
Yeah the new G series M-cars are incredibly heavy… For most people the extra 150kg is nothing really. I went for the M6 rather than M4 for this reason.
@@heros2110 V10 in the E60 is great, but greatly lacks in low end torque/power, and is also paired with a terrible SMG transmission (6MT option is great). All of these drawbacks were addressed with the F10 M5
Misha, on M cars always use the 3rd “fastest” setting for DCT, i was told by my tuner use it only for hard driving, higher clamping force on the clutch, less chance of slip, and crisper upshifts, immediate downshifts. F10 M5 owner here ;)

@@fazalshaikh867 I have a 2016 one. Drove 20k kms this year (from 63k to 83k mileage). Only changed oil and filters every 5k-8k intervals and that's it. Did my oil changes at bmw dealership so it costed me like 250-300€ per service. Stock car and no faults have shown up. I drive 50% on the highway and 50% in the city and I do quite much drifting with it so definitely not a garage queen. I know there are a lot of bad rumors about the engine but in my case if you service it well and don't tune the shit out of it then this car is pretty reliable.
@@fazalshaikh867 It depends on how well the car was maintained. I spent a lot of money fixing mine but I just absolutely love driving it. Got mine in 2019 dec, was a 2013 pre LCI @82.5K miles on it. Clocked around 35K miles on it (reaching 120K miles soon). The things I have had to fix on mine were- leaky gasket on upper oil sump, all coils and plugs, all O2 sensors and the most recent was the power steering pump. Tires are the most expensive consumable.

I remember the first M5 When I was 18. The quality was awesome and the power raw. This is famtastic. I do not think the concept was lost, although I keep hearing the brakes are not as good on the F10 'comparitively' speaking of course. The E34's brakes were fantastic.
The main difference i noticed is the durability around the track. Much lighter rs3 s etc. are cutting the power most of the time. But the m "fünf" goes like hell.
It is crazy how completely stock M5 in right hands and on very average tires destroys track modded M3 E92 and other alike cars. Also you can see the difference between this and nicely modded M6 GC, which was quite faster. Great content!
I got an f10 m sport just a 520d but it’s such an underrated car the f10. Mine has nowhere near the performance of the m5 but it’s such a great all round car. Refined, sporty, well balanced, great family car, cheap to run… the list goes on

I have no idea whose idea it was originally to play 90's driving sim engine noise through speakers, especially when starting out with a twin-turbo V8... Anyone who thinks it sounds good should listen to the Lexus 2ur series V8 from the isf-rcf-lc500 which has been my benchmark for good-sounding V8's for years now. Before that I really liked the Audi 4.2 from the B7 rs4 era. Performance-wise, this thing's obviously a beast and probably an excellent cruiser. That Mini at the start had some serious cojones... I was thinking "ok 250hp ish, the M is gonna demolish it right away" and when the M got in 3rd and I wasn't seeing the Mini showing in the rear view camera, it was a proper wtf moment. Must've had some fancy boost by gear tuning because it seemed to accelerate harder and harder.

I've no doubt these bmw motors are strong. Most engines they make are good. Unfortunately, they're even better at fitting failure-prone ancillaries around a good motor than they are at engineering good motors. Don't mistake me for some sort of bmw hater. I just bought my 2nd one which is non running and before fixing it, I'm already worried about a broken timimg chain. My first beemer broke down on me twice with cooling system issues. I like their designs and their motors. I despise their intentional designed to fail and pig to work on antics. But I digress, again, this was about engine sound. Misha happened to drive an ISF with rather high mileage. I invite you to watch that video and report back on the sound.
@@papapetad this cars NEEDS a minimum exhaust mods, at least downpipes, better some X-pipe or complete exhaust system. Just listen to full akrapovic exhaust systems, or RPI GTM. This car sounds exocit, like nothing else. I'm not saying it is better, or worse. It is just different.
I have had the 2014 version and im in love with the car, but the only issues i have had in the last 2 years of owning it is i had to change the wishbone jointball and i also have an issue with it running lean, ive had it checked out but no one seems to know what the issue is.
The active sound is indeed pretty good in person or you generally don’t pay that much attention as you’re busy and focussed on accelerating. The sound is awful when recorded. The microphone makes it sound more artificial than it really is.
Rebuilt 2 of these now, amazing family cars and all rounders. Didn’t track them but drove them heavily and they just take the abuse like it’s nothing. Licence losers on uk motorways😂
I think the F10 are some of the most beautiful BMWs ever made, and while it's heavy and not perfect, the F10 M5 is my dream car. Heartbreakingly, I am currently having to sell my F10 528i.

It was accelerating NO WHERE NEAR AS HARD.
And Misha didn’t change gears right away so that was losing speed

To answer your question; 300kg less kerbweight. I had one and the brakes are a total dissaster. Same brakes on my F80M3 had no issue at all.

It's not even a fake V8 but more like the V10 sound... In the F90 it's better but still a new muffler with active sound off is best.

Misha why didn't you set the transmission into the 3rd setting which is for track, would've made the transmission even quicker.

I have had the 2014 version and im in love with the car, but the only issues i have had in the last 2 years of owning it is i had to change the wishbone jointball and i also have an issue with it running lean, ive had it checked out but no one seems to know what the issue is.
my 2015 M5 Comp was running lean, I just fixed it today by changing both Mass Air Flow Sensors and o2 Sensors.. now the car runs very smooth

E60 M5 didn’t have rod bearing issues. It had owner issues who didn’t let the engines warm up. I mean, it used 10W-60 weight oil.
