I have a moded stage 2+ tune F10 M5, and this is why I got it. It does everything WELL! I've raced a heavily moded 800whp hellcat and we were side by side for those asking how they compare. Oh, btw those fans run after shutdown all the time, even on a trip down the street!! Lol
The F10M5 Is stock with 620 hp, with a simple flash tune, it is 700 hp. You can pick one up for mid 30s now. When you can accelerate at 120 km an hour, and spin the wheels, It is intoxicating. Well people say it’s a big car, that’s because Theyve never driven it. I had the Dinan stroker M3, With 527 hp… And the F 10 just walks away from it. It is an amazing piece of kit. And I love it
For straight-line traction one is much better off in Comfort suspension as it will maximize weight transfer. The best launches I've done have simply been to punch the throttle to ~80%, modulate, and then go WOT as soon as it shifts to 2nd.

i just drove an m5 comp and i can honestly say i enjoy driving my nb miata more when i’m not on a straight empty highway. everything that makes it a good performance car makes it a bad luxury/gt car, and vice versa.
No, no side badges detection. Tell them to distinguish the car 200 feet away. Look at the car that far and tell me if its a regular 5 or an M, simple. Thats a real car guy!

Mitchell Barnow “regular” car oil should be about the same temp as performance car oil. The difference is that most regular cars don’t get pushed in the same ways, and they can’t cool themselves back off as efficiently.

The placement of those turbos has been a disastrous design decision for BMW, well more so, the customer who is outta warranty ...the heat that is generated has been a nightmare for BMW owners...having to replace the valve stem seals...and though the heat was not entirely the reason...BMW telling customers to go 15k between oil changes, the heat was a significant contributing factor. Those rubber seals...$30 ...replacement $4,000.00 I was so close to getting a 750i as you can get a 2012-2013...$120K car for $15K ...however finding one that doesn’t throw a smoke screen on start up, is quite a different story.
Don’t you hate it when people won’t give an answer back as important as your question was. I don’t believe the OP. On a budget you need a computer that can interface with the car. It will tell you where to look. You do have to learn the software. It could be distributor cap, wires, coil, maybe an injector. Just don’t buy cheap parts and learn to wrench if you don’t already. I’m close to buying an M5, the most dangerous one. If the car is still there Wednesday I’m gonna buy it. I’ll remember this thread and keep you updated if I buy, best I can do.

My Gran Turismo video game synthetic car noises sounds better than this M5 F10. The augmented sound through the speakers sounds terrible. Definitely not the same as the screaming V10 E60.😆
Yea I’m in the market for one. I got into an accident two months ago with my ZHP E46 coupe and unfortunately it was totaled so I had to let it go. I want an F10 M5 really bad but I keep hearing nightmare stories about them. Not sure what I’m going to do.
@@simonsinistaj1917 rod bearing failure seems to be consistent on the s63tu engine, have heard many stories of these requiring rebuild well before 80-100,000 miles.
Elliott Alvis for different reasons. The E60 was too half baked with the crude and unreliable transmission. The F10 M5 is an extremely numb car to drive with zero steering feel and a numb chassis. I drove one and absolutely hated it. One of the most disappointing cars I have ever driven. The comp package is supposed to have revised steering for better feel so maybe that’s a little better.
Don’t modify the car, do proper and regular maintenance… and this car will last without any issues.

joetz1 maybe that’s the case. This is the only F10 I’ve driven. The steering is heavily assisted but I wouldn’t call it numb.
