I painted a different colored stripe of color on the end of each of my hooks so I can see the difference at a glance. I started out with nail polish but switched to paint meant for plastic models as it is more durable.
Thank you for this review ❤ I am a pencil holder too, and I have just ordered 4 Clover Amour hooks that I wait for, because they come so highly recommended. I also put one Clover soft touch in my order just to compare, since it’s basically half price of the Amour. But I agree with you about the color… I hope to like the Soft touch because of the price, but I don’t really like the color very much… it’s time for them to upgrade it 😊
I’m 82 YO and have been crouching since childhood and have an extensive collection of hooks from various manufacturers. Since I’m an “old schooler,” I am chiefly a threadie, but more recently I’ve been working with yarn because of knitting. Although I have a set of Clover Soft Touch hooks (rarely used), I was considering trying the Amour hooks because of all the glowing reviews, but now, thanks to your excellent review, you have answered my question as to the difference between the two styles of hooks, which is negligible. In summation, my “go-to” hooks are my prized collection of vintage Susan Bates inline hooks, so the Clover Amour hooks wouldn’t benefit me any more than my Soft Touch set. Again, kindest thanks!
I have both. I was pleasantly surprised by the ST because I was expecting to hate the hard plastic. But no, its so smooth, and the plastic doesn't feel cheap either. It remind me of of bakelite plastic (for those old enough to remember bakelite). Im a knife holder type. When I crochet my thumb is close to the shaft. I don't know how to explain it, but the thumb spot grips, but it doesn't hold in place. I have the Tulip crochet hook. The thumb rest keep my thumb in place, but this actually makes my thumb hurt, and go numb.
I have CloverSoft Touch and Amore but the former is my favourite alongside Tulip Reds. I bought Soft Touch first and I always navigate back to them. Amore are okay but not my favourite and I have cheaper Amazon buys that equal them!
Thank you for this video! Now I know I need to go for the „ugly clovers”, because i also prefer those thin hooks ❤❤
I have both sets of Clover. The amour is better for knife hold.

Very beautiful weaving nice sharing full watching from India🤝 stay connected💐
Soft touch slips very well throgh yarn, would you say amour is the same?

Which hooks you recommend for senior citizens (70yrs old)
I couldn’t get a 2.75mm Clover ST in store so I got Amore. I wasn’t a fan either, besides the color.
You made me laugh with the color comment. I thought it was like plastic gold color.
