I have ignis.
Am 6.1 ft height (bought it for its tall boy design)
Done 26k kms in 11 months (15th jan 2019 till dec 2019).
Petrol Automatic, gives 17.5 km per litre in highway and 11 km in city bumper to bumper traffic like Bangalore city.
Guys Ignis is an underrated car but it's actually spacious inside.
Only negative is cabin noise.
Good Ground Clearance because of 15 inches wheel.
Rest all good.
Go for it.
I think ignis has better feature and more valuable, i bought it already

Ignis looks quite good. Ignis is small hence lightweight, it also has large 15 inch wheels and wheelbase is larger than swift!!! Its handling and acceleration are quite good.

The steering is light indeed. But it weighs exceptionaly well after 60kmph though. The feed back of the car is at a totally different level at higner speeds. One thing though the steering does not auto centre, and that definitely could be a bit tiring to get used to, espiecally at U turns.
No thoughts on the AMT versions? Or the myopia that forces buyers to opt for the lower trimmed versions if they chose an Auto?
I heard that the Ignis is also coming With alpha Amt Is it true??? I was going with zeta Amt Petrol

Please do a comparision between all hatchbacks of that range including tiago,etc.... and a comparison between xcent, tigor ,etc of that category.

Good features of Ignis are higher seating position resulting in better vision of the road, higher ground clearance and safety features in all variants and ignis is very practical and very easy to drive in the city. I am a proud owner of Ignis.

Arindam Roy I recently purchased it sigma petrol , and believe me it's very good car especially for city traffic , every model comes with dual airbag abs ebd ... Lot of space comfortable seats nd big space for luggage ... It have same petrol engine which comes in baleno . And now in swift ...

Hi am about to choose between Tiago i10 grand and ignis. With discounts all three cost similar. I am worri D about average of i10 g ... Have you calculated via tankful method . What's i10 mileage in city . In my city Chandigarh there is One minute traffic light every 1 km but traffic isn't bumper to bumper
For me, I like the Ignis Exterior and i10's Interior. Can't have both of them in One package..!!

Useful for rainy days..... 65 days consider as rainy days per year.
During sun set in evening many of them not turn on headlight earlier. Switch on as late as possible during evening. Drl is must for India
Drl atlest enhances looks cool...what abt AHO headlights on 2 whelers ..it hurts eyes during daytime when seen at headlight..
What is the NEURO CAP rating of safety for Grand i10 and Ignis. Why the safety is just told in terms of ABS and Airbag..??
Hello experts, I need a small advice. We want a small city car for our daily needs. So, we had finalised the grand i10 petrol, top end but the new xcent just got released. Also, we don't need a bigger boot for our daily needs. So, I would ask if the xcent petrol top-end would be justified to purchase given its significantly higher price ?

Ritz got killed off by its own sibling. The swift. It was an otherwise interesting car.

Booked the Grand i10 Sportz (o). Ignis had a 10 week waiting period.

@@sahastranshu4425 Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's better. Refinement and NVH levels are nowhere as close as the Grand i10, surprising considering how it's way more expensive. I wish Maruti still sold the Ritz.

I treat Ignis to be successor of erstwhile Ritz, an entry point to get 1.3 DDIS. Maruti should have choosen conservative styling, it’s just too offensive for people spending 7.5L. I would have liked grand i10 like styling with Ignis’ mechanicals and pricing.

Great Comparison... I like your videos... One thing I would like to know if you can spare ten secs to answer... I am interested for buying a used ignis any variant apart from sigma.. What should be the ideal price for 2018 model in Delhi which has crossed 40k km... Any approx idea would be appreciated.. Seen few on olx but all above 4.5 lacs which does not seem to be ideal and quoting more for this car...
Over all considering its competitive performance it is a good car with more features but it's back appearance needs stylish look.

Im 6 foot 110kgs. For my size which one should be better . I love to drive . I have driven the grand i10 . Found it to be too wobbly and claustrophobic. No idea about ignis though . 2-3 minute test drives reveal Nothin . I own a spark currently . So light steering is a deal breaker for me . I'm not sure how light the steering is on the ignis . So 2 things . Steering and shoulder space on the ignis I'd like some feedback from current customers .

I got ignis zeta mt petrol... its an amazing car for long drives... 400kms at a stretch... no problem... plus interior space is so mch more... makes u feel u sitting in a big car... the petrol engine is great and cruising at 100-120 is its sweet spot. D only fly in d oinmtent is d lack of feedback from the brakes.. they could be better. Rest all awsome... grand i10 not so great.
Only major grouse with ignis is it's price. other than that, everything else is pretty much awesome.

Grand i10 AC is not good. Rear vent makes no difference. AC is the primary thing one should look for specially when driving in Delhi NCR. One of the reason for low cooling is that the windows are large and a lot of sunlight makes way through the windows. Another reason is placement of front middle AC vents which Do not make enough air circulate to the rear part. Ride quality is better but at the same time it feels tiring in long journeys. Steering should have been a little smaller.
I own ignis sigma petrol...And really it's very good car lot of space both front nd rare seats with big boot space for luggage and even base model is equipped with dual airbag ,abs ebd , ground clearance is very good with wheel base of 15 inch tyres... White colors is best

Ignis has petrol auto, diesel auto variants, ABS & Airbags in all variants unlike Grand i10 still it is selling 10k units less than grand i10
Ignis - Airbags, ABS, EBD, better ground clearance. For the same features in i10 we have to pay more.
Ignis looks more outstanding than the grand i10 and from the feature point of view also.

maruti does not have a common design language to distinguish it's cars from others......
Still feel the Ritz was a much nicer looking car than the IGNIS atleast from the rear and the rear 3/4.
I own both cars and both are top end. I'd prefer i10 grand over ignis any day. The drive quality of i10 is far better than igni's.

sachin khare They both are very identical to each other in many ways ,if you already have an i10 grand then it makes sense to Go for ignis as it will give you a sense of change.
grandi10's front seats are not comfortable as that on the maruti ignis

firasat ali no it doesn't Maruti just doesn't understand the concept of 6 airbags let alone have it ......but companies like ford and Hyundai does offer 6 airbags in cars like Figo EcoSport, i20 verna etc

as per ur choice.. if it is petrol Ignis... if it is diesel Ford Figo... budget varies for Diesel..

Whatever ,ignis is a gift fir the low driving skilled ppl compare with other cars
design of ignis is not something which fits in taste of everyone. it's just riding on Maruti Suzuki as a brand.

Ignis is one of those bad decisions of Suzuki which gets discontinued after 2-3 years .....its in the league of Zen Estilo, Stingray, Ritz etc. Spending 6-7 Lakhs on Ignis now is really stupid decision when you can buy the new swift 2017 for the similar price later this year!
But swift has a bit lower seating position IMO.
And no automatic in swift. ignis is a perfect competition for i10 auto.

Marutis are no match for Hyundai's quality fit, feel, engine and refinement. Try for yourself.

surpised! for the first time hyundai having better ride and handling than maruti suzuki
add to that a poor safety ratings than maruti suzuki this time.
Have been driving ignis for sometime and its quite a practical city car n decent highway car if you drive within 80kms. Above that the lighter steering doesn't give you too much confidence due to oversteer. When you compare it with a i10 you will find the steering even lighter which is great for city but not so good for the highways.
Suspension is a bit stiff n road noise can be an issue but since i love the sound of engine revving it isn't a dealbreaker for me.
But if you drive mainly in the city you can still consider it as it is quite nippy n overtaking is a breeze even in higher gears offering decent juice in 2000revs too. But than you have to sacrifice a bit of ride comfort compared to an i10. Hyundai users will agree that i10 usually needs a downshift to overtake but not so with this lil beast.
As for looks invest in a 6k spoiler and even the rear end looks quite hip.
One grudge i had with hyundai was relating to their fixed head rests. But ignis definitely scores here over a i10.
As for cons bumps do filter inside compared to a hyundai car but that's because of the higher ground clearance n stiffer suspension. But the upside is the chassis never touches even the steeper speed breakers.
When it comes to features n quality if dash hyundai is unbeatable at this price but if you introspect a lil you will find that some of those extra features like 1gb storage n rear usb ports are hardly ever used.
And though knee and headroom is adequate the grande i10 has better backseat space n comfort. But thn don't let those rear ac vents in i10 fool u as it does have little role in cooling n is there mainly for a placebo effect.
I agree the vent placement just behind the steering wheel isn't really ergonomic but you can always direct the airflow away from ur fingers n still get decent cooling in the cabin.
I have heard ppl complaining of the build quality n safety of maruti but than even the hyundai isn't a better option in this dept. Infact ignis has a better safety rating than grande i10. But if you want the safest car don't even look at maruti or hyundai. Go for a polo or a ford but only if you live in a major city. Their service network sucks otherwise.
P.s. I was a hyundai user for 6 years n though i miss the ride comfort though i am much happier as a driver due to better power delivery of the k12. So it pretty much rests on where you like to sit in the car that should influence your decision.
Ignis is better in every way except for looks, hopefully maruti will soon give it a back lift, as it's face is quiet nice and only the back looks ugly
Maruti has this nature of copying concepts from other manufacturers! Swif when launched was a clear copy of the Mini style! Now look at the A/c controls of the ignis does it not clearly look like those in the Mini?
Both cars are great. If you like sedan buy i10. It you like suvs go for Ignis. Difference is all about how you feel when you are inside these cars.

ignis rear design is too much awkward ...owned already a grand .. peppy engine but maintenance is high.

Ignis is not a complete package... I am not an expert but after the test drive I found this car is over rated. 1st the car smells with cheap plastic, the seat is not comfortable because of the curve edges , gear shifting was not smooth which is expected from this kind of car, last but not the least engine power- I was not able to feel the power while pressing the accelerator. Some good part about ignis are ground clearance (170mm) and more space. But honestly speaking this car is far away from i10 grand. I drove the petrol variants. I found it very disappointing when these car TV shows drive the vehicle only on smooth roads, why don't they test the car of potholes filled roads.

All your knowledge about ignis is incorrect.. you must drive it again. It's ground clearance is 180 mm. And I also did a test drive.. and it's gears are pretty smooth.

The Grand i10 has flat spots when acceleration, too much of gear changes required, gets irritating sometimes.
When review began I somehow made a guess that i10 will win , and it did, something that the Autocar folks tend to pick everytime when they review Hyundai with maruti.
i think that grand i10 has edge over maruti ignis
ignis looks way much ahead in its styling.. compared to boring bulky grand i10
