Watching this in 2021. Sad to see this product did not make as many numbers..interesting to watch this review in today's time..
This is a good car, good ground clearance and compact easy to park, really important nowadays with no space to park in our cities.

The rear section is very sexy and sporty. nice looking car..well done SUZUKI!!
Have been driving it and its quite a practical city car n decent highway car if you drive within 80kms.
Above that the lighter steering doesn't give you too much confidence due to oversteer.
Suspension is a bit stiff n road noise can be an issue but since i love the sound of engine revving it isn't a dealbreaker for me.
But if you drive mainly in the city you can definitely consider it as overtaking is a breeze even in higher gears as it offers decent juice in 2000revs too.
As for looks invest in a 6k spoiler and even the rear end looks quite hip.
As for cons bumps do filter inside compared to a hyundai car but that's because of the higher ground clearance n stiffer suspension. But the upside is the chassis never touches even the steeper speed breakers.
And though knee and headroom is adequate the grande i10 has better backseat space n comfort. But thn don't let those rear ac vents in i10 fool u as it does have little role in cooling n is there mainly for a placebo effect.
I agree the vent placement just behind the steering wheel isn't really ergonomic but you can always direct the airflow away from ur fingers n still get decent cooling in the cabin.
P.s. I was a hyundai user for 6 years n though i miss the ride comfort i am much happier as a driver due to better power delivery of the k12. So it pretty much rests on where you like to sit in the car that should influence your decision.
Ignis has better comfort than grand i10 and it performs awesome in highway.
It doesnot hit your fingers of ac.

Swift is a sporty car, this is retro and more functional like the Ritz
I had Ritz and Swift and Ritz is more comfortable because of higher seating etc

Dan Shifter 1.4 crdi is so silent engine and it's pickup is very good. the way I drive for me it's ride quality is very good. Ddsi feels heavy in slow speed and feels like ur putting lots of effort for car to move in traffic, actually.

1.4 CRDI is a good engine but 1.3 MJD is the best for city traffic etc too
ulta 1.3MJD has too much low end torque, you can move the car without accelerator at all
What is the concept of extended warranty? I am not getting any benefit from my existing car (Nissan) . I am in two minds whether to take the extended warranty or not for Ignis? Please help

This is not the Indian type of Car in terms of space is concern. It is truly a 4 seater car not a 5 seater.
It is a five seater. Don't tell rubbish.
As compare to current era.....this car not satisfied completely.... its boxy looks may not required by Indian customers...

Sales figure of Ignis is not as per the Maruti Standards. Its sales figure is in the range 4000-5000 units per month. Whereas the sales figures of Swift, Baleno are in the range of 10000 - 20000 range.
Although Ignis appears to be better than WagonR and Celerio, Ignis sales figures are much lesser than those. Yes, its rear looks and boxy design are not that much appealing, but it is certainly better than Boxy Wagon R. Wagon R is perhaps the most ugly looking car in Indian roads.
Can you give the reason why Ignis is not in the list of top selling cars in India (even though it is Maruti product).

Either one should be a fanboy about Maruthi's service and must be having enough cash that they wouldn't know what to do with that money and mad enough to buy this car at 8.2L for top end petrol and 9.2L for top end diesel just because they put fancy black paint and wheels on funky design outside and inside is all same old Maruthi with engines and interiors.
I being millennial even if I have less cash trying to buy his first car/gift to parents like how Maruthi claim I would rather buy a well maintained used 5 year old Polo/i20/Punto for half the price and put some nice wheels and exterior paint touch up, leather interiors, nice sound and optional tuning box for another 1L and I would be more than happy with performance,safety and customization of that and not this wannabe car trying to be something else just because they claim it is for.millennials when inside there is nothing specially dedicated offered to us millennials on the interiors or engine options compared to its other lineup cars but what we get is only reused parts from its existing parts bin.

worst car to look at..... specially side profile...... and at that price point it is overpriced
I drove IGNIS today.... It could not fulfill my expectation. I personally don't like the car as the steering of the car not so good max steering rotation is required to change the lane either left or right.... driver seat and rear seat is not very much comfortable.... Average full indication shows me mileage of petrol car is 11.6kmpl where I drove the car around 35-40 km...... So many jerks are feel their while driving a car..... Steering wheel size is big and having shoulder pain
Currently I'm using Volkswagen Polo 1.2 High Line top model, it has superb driving quality and superb comfort quality. Whenever I drive the car I never get exhaust and plan for next destination before ending my first destiny.

I am sorry but ignis is wayyyy better.... I tell you why..
1) ABS EBD n dual airbags are stock in all variants. So a much safer car.
2) Bigger boot space 260litres vs 170 odd in wagonr
3) K12 is a better, more powerful n refined engine than k10 in wagonr
4) Dash board is better than wagonr
5) Body roll is quite less than wagonr or any other tall boy cars
6) Bigger n wider tyre- means more stability in corners and higher speeds
7) Overtakin in 3rd or 4th gear is a breeze. Rarely downshifting is required
8) Indian Wagonr scored 0 in Nacp safety ratings. Standard ignis scored 3 stars
9) Driving seats offer much better thigh n lower back support than wagonr.
The list goes on n on.....
