    I am unabashedly cheap. Frugal in the extreme. But since I still want what I want. I scour the internet looking for a good deal. I do want quality and rely on adventurous folks like you to test and recommend the products so it's not so much hit and miss for me. Thanks!

      Hello Rob well said. Never pay more than you have to. Look for that deal! It's difficult to review Ali express products, there are so many sellers, and product that looks identical shows up all the time. Thats why I never reviewed any of this, or other items I get there. - Frank

      Good point Rob! One of the most important and difficult things is to have a plan at the beginning. One mod may cause an issue for another mod being installed later on. You have a DR650 so mods are endless.

    Nicely done. I agree; there are some things that are worth paying more for, and some things that are not worth the main-market costs. For my Tiger 850, I used AliExp for a radiator guard, a water bottle holder, a front fender extender and a few other things. Lights- I tried them but the wiring harness was complete junk: immediate fail. Support bar for aux lights? Yes to Ali Exp.
    It is worth looking there, but you are completely correct: one needs to be very careful in the shopping, and be prepared to absorb a big portion of the cost if it works out to be junk or simply something that doesn't fit. Return shipping to China on a $75.00 item is usually about $75.00

    • @OneOldManRiding
      @OneOldManRiding  Рік тому

      Hello Damon, when it comes to return shipping... yep... your not going to want to do it. I would never buy an item I was not willing to lose the cost of. Its just not going to make financial sense to return it. - Frank

    Interesting topic. Aliexpress is a good option, but do not expect to get a high quality products and in a very short time. I believe it is just right for the money. Ordered some things and everything was OK. I even got my money back when the package got lost. Here goes my like Frank. Keep going.

    Could you post a link to those tank grippers! I’ve been looking for a set of those. I’ve purchased windscreens, rad guards, handlebar risers and headlight guard through Aliexpress and have had no issues. Anything out of China/India for such low prices can be super suspect, but they charge sooooooo much for stuff in North America that it’s a bit ridiculous. I’m looking forward to your windscreen review.

    Good Video Frank about how to stretch those Dual Sport dollars. I agree with you about buying cheaper noncritical parts, and videos like this are great for getting the word out about what works and what doesn't. Xitomer makes DR650 budget parts, Nicecnc makes XR650L farkles, and Kubota for KLR650 budget tractor parts🤣😂🤣.
