    All I have to say is that people who claim these issues are isolated is an absolute lie. EVERY UA-camr that has one of these things has videos about it being broken. I’m so happy that I chose to buy a Yamaha. 0 issues. Fantastic bike.

    I enjoyed your video. I liked and subscribed which I don't always do. I think you answered a question that I have been looking for. "thermal runaway" Whenever I see someone talking about "Lithium Batteries" in connection to vehicles I immediately think of those videos of electric scooters, electric motorcycles and electric public buses catching fire and burning like a small volcano. I'm guessing that's what you mean when you say thermal runaway. If I'm understanding you correctly it would be great if you could do a video explaining the difference between the Lithium Battery sold for motorcycles and the lithium batteries in electric vehicles and why they don't have "thermal runaway". Thanks

    When I purchased my 1090 back in 19' it sat at the dealer for a month. Nothing better than paying full pop for a bike and then not being able to ride it. In my experience I did not feel like KTM made me (their customer) the priority ... instead they were more focused on limiting their liability. IMO all of the manufactures operate in the same manner ... people just experience more petty issues with KTM , hence why the mediocre customer service is constantly being reported. 1090 has been great since ... for what it's worth.

    Good presentation. I’ve just put one of these on my 890R, which I use almost 100% off road, and I’m happy with it. It’s fine on the road for what it is off-road. I can carry massively illegal speeds in the twisties (yes, I too know how to ride a sport bike) and it’s great off road. I’m impressed but had zero idea of riding it much on the road. For me, it’s better than I expected on road. Edit: I find it interesting how many riders object to this tire being “busy” on the road. When riding off road, the bike is moving around 1000 times more than on road. When this tire wiggles on the street, I think “cute”. lol.

    JTotal horse shit on differences as the #1 priority for people should be keeping their brains on the inside of their skull. The AT960 is ECE 22.06 rated which is the latest ECE rating to date. BTW, a bigger button making it easier to open isn't aways what you want in a crash. I don't mind personally having the button require some effort to open. It opens and is more of a user skill to do it faster than you demonstrated. Now I get it, safety isn't important in your opinion, and this is an opinion piece, but for new riders, there are important differences to consider.

    • @OneOldManRiding
      @OneOldManRiding 5 днів тому

      Hello Mark, excellent point on the newer ECE rating. That said, few folks replace thir helmets when new rating come out. After all, the previous helmets were considered safe at release. I am unaware of any accidents related to the AT-950 opening, of mentioned. I did look just now on Google. As both buttons are tucked into the chin, it would (IMHO) be difficult for either to be depressed without direct intent. I am a huge MotoZ fan, I run them religiously on my enduros and if I only had one wheel set for my 1250 GSA I'd likely run their GPS to cover all terrain. That said, I picked up a second set of wheels for the GSA and they came with a brand new set of BattlAx Ax41's. I have to say that I am pretty impressed with them thus far. No louder than the Anakee Adventures I have on my other wheel set and I only gained three pounds of weight total with the pair. Fuel economy appears to have dropped 2-3 mpg with them on but that's to be expected. Bridgestone labels these a 50/50 tire but IMHO they lean more towards the off-road side of the scale and I'd call them a 60/40. I don't expect more than 3K miles out of them on such a heavy and powerful bike but I'll be more than content with that lifespan should they provide the immense grip and confidence I have felt with them when new. I haven't had them in the rain while on tarmac so I can't comment there but so far I am impressed overall. When it comes time to replace them they will be in the running.

    Thanks of the great review Frank! I ordered the 702 Carpuride and used it for a couple rides. I removed it and went back to just using my iPhone and Quadlock Wireless charger. The Carpuride is probably right for someone just not me! My phone seemed to overheat when locked away in my tank bag and charging at the same time. I've never had this issue with my phone mounted. You mentioned in your video that your gloves don't work for touch on your phone. I made a video a few years ago about the GloveTact's they are dirt cheap and the more they get wore the better they work. Best $12 motorcycle accessory guaranteed!

      I think the thing that bugged me the most about CarPlay is that there is no MyQ app for CarPlay! How has this been overlooked! I don't know when everyone else opens and closes the garage door. But I do when I'm planning to pull in or out of my garage with my Truck or bike! hahahaha. Digging my phone out of my pocket or tank bag unlocking it to open my garage door I didn't care for going down the road on the bike and I also didn't like sitting at the garage door doing the same. Just having my phone mounted is so much easier to just touch the big open button on the dash. I was so excited to use this Carpuride but it just didn't work for me the way I thought it would.

My phone is safely in my pocket (I'd recommend keeping the phone on your person, not in a tank bag nor top case - that way you have a way to call for help or communicate if you crash and can't get up, like pinned under the bike, for example) and if the Carpuride does take a ding, it's a lot cheaper than my phone to replace. Best thing I've added for my aging eyes. As for the unit powering down, the ideal way of connecting it is to an accessory plug or the battery. Also helps make the wiring fully waterproof.

      Hello Brian, it's hard to tell for sure about mileage loss, as I ride differently day to day, week to week. (speed, mountains highway etc.) There is no way to avoid a tuner using slightly more fuel though. Not enough to notice unless you are really tracking. - Frank

      My Odb2 shows short term lean at idle and running. With the pro if is not snake oil as you go up on the handlebar switch you should see the short term fuel usage change. Absolutely surprised no one has done. Scan tool cost from $30 up plus conversion cable.
