It certainly isnt the worst detachment, have you seen the 1st company? Also, vindicators are also very good anti-tank bricks to just sit in front and shoot whatever they want hitting on 2s. Nice video and ideas though!

Whirlwind is now 175 points, they did us dirty. I play a mixture and use the desolator squad with librarian attached to them for 4+ inv and literally blast folks from the upper floor. Also Eliminators with las fusil + Librarian in phobos attached to them also give them the edge to shoot from the upper floor without being hit unless on 12'' they do insane damage to vehicles. I like my imperial fists and I usually take 3 separate squads of heavy intercesors to advance and shoot until capturing the mid field and then snipe from behind with dreads, tanks, whirl, desolator squad and eliminators
i was watching another video that was 24 minutes long, and the dude in there made it extremly complicated, thank you for doing it in a shorter and simpler way for someone who is still on the early stages of the boardgame and havent even purchased any unit yet
So I played Anvil vs a Necrons Silver Knights list (the teleporting detachment) and oh boy, big chin man shot a monolith after it teleported near him, did 4+4 dmg in shooting then charged and meleed it to death lol.
I am literally building this list, I love it so much. Unfortunately with the new data sheet, Whirlwinds and aggressors went up in pts so I had to remove a WW and added a scout squad.. But I'm almost done building all that

Finally something i can relate to. I have IF and I run a gravis line (90%). For crusade Anvil is pretty good. For "competitive " its very anti point making. I still love it though.

If I could I would change Shield of the Imperium detachment rule into this: -For purposes of weapons already considered "Heavy" it would trigger their bonus to hit rolls even after movement (but without advancing)
but that would make the detachement about mobility and not about stationary defense, which is a more flexible play style but would go against the theme of the detachement
@@martinfllan9163no it wouldn't? Firestorm is about mobility because you can advance and shoot. Counting as stationary after normal move, even just for infantry, would be about tactical repositioning during line holding, quite imperial fist Other options could be All units get scout at start of battle (allowing you to secure and hold earlier). Those with scout add another 3"

Hi man, this video convinced me of starting my own army with the IF. I already bought all the units on your list, but i was wondering if you or someone could advise me which units (3-4) i could have as a back up in case i need to switch certain units in this list depending on the match up.
I'm humbled to hear that ✊ I suppose I would start with some infiltrators to provide infiltration/deepstrike denial flexibility. As well as having standard intercessors(a marine staple) led by a librarian who gives them psychic fortress will make them extra durable, which is quite thematic.

Under normal circumstances yes only 1 leader per unit. Though like most core rules, there are units which have exceptions. The apothecary is one of them.
Oh hold on! Two questions/queries my good Salamander. A Harmacist, AKA The Marine Biologist, *can* join a squad *alongside a captain*? Because in the lieutenants data sheet, it specifically says that this character can join the squad, even if it has a chapter master, or captain attached, so going by that, unless it specifies otherwise you can only have 1 leader attached? Also, as land raiders have a capacity of 14 (with 2 slots per gravis/terminators and 3 per centurion), doesn’t that mean with 6 Aggressors + 1 Biologist + 1 Tor = 8 Gravis bodies? They can’t get in the land raider can they? 🤔
Good questions! IIRC, The Marine Biologist datasheet has the same wording around being able to attach to a unit alongside a Captain. And the Land Raider Crusader has a transport capacity of 16.

The detachment needs a strat that allows a single unit to count as stationary if it made a normal move.
I think it would be cool if we had a strat that increases rapid fire by 1 on a unit for 1 Command point.
