- In this Thematic List Build for 109th edition Warhammer 40,000 the focus is on the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Jormungandr. Named after the mythic world serpent of Norse Mythology, Jormungandr, the list features many serpentine tunneling bioforms.
This video follows the format of the previous Warhammer 40K list builds, starting with a rules critique, definition of thematic goals and the list itself for these especially insidious bugs. And like with the previous, there are a few opinion pieces peppered (or maybe salted?) throughout 😂

I’d totally be up for seeing you make home brew detachments. Could make it a new series, perhaps less frequently than this one.
Pick a codex, determine an unrepresented sub faction in the codex, design detachment rules, enhancements, stratagems, etc. Could even give us pie in the sky model releases to go with it, like you’ve done here with the counts-as proxies.
I just think you’d be pretty good at it.

Oh my gosh now I am mentally working out how to build a burrowing, serpentine Tervigon so that this list has the leader model it deserves.

Something about Tyranids being like the words from Tremors and utilizing those pretty damn good looking worm nids just makes me grin.
Cool charts like those should definitely be part of the series going forward.

I wonder if anyone else feels this way but as someone who has read warhammer books for about 10 years, I’ve always wanted to get into board-play and I did start learning in the latter quarter of 9th. But at the release of 10th and the elimination of subfactions, as someone who was playing Iron Hands and White Scars, I stopped playing. It just doesn’t feel like the subfactions are unique and I got a lot of enjoyment out of that aspect of the game.
