Welcome to the CZ addiction. But myself, after hating Glock, I've branched out to the 6.02" barreled G17L 9mm and G40 10mm. Simple, Uber reliable, easy to service. Very different compared to CZ, but I appreciate their design.
I'd add the Browning Hi-Power to that list as well. Maybe a bit old-school because of its SA trigger, but its just as every bit as refined. I like your tastes sir ;)
One of THE most manly things I have ever done is to trade guns for whisky. Actually, I traded four bottles of very good single malt that were from a batch I'd had imported into Canada for a single firearm: An original CZ75B. It had been an undercover firearm got the RCMP and my buddy (who had previously been a police firearms officer) had acquired it when it was released from service. It shoots very well and is probably the AK of 9mms. It simply will not quit. I have put every possibly type of 9mm cartridge through it and it's functioned flawlessly. The only time I ever had a stoppage was my fault, because I was shooting limp-wristed (an off day!) and I absorbed the recoil, which caused a malfunction. These are outstandign guns and I highly recommend them. I have CZ rifles, too, and they are superior firearms in every sense.
No matter how much money you spend you may not find a better 9mm. Great ergonomics, utterly reliable, rugged, mechanically smooth and robust, lethally accurate, easy to carry open or concealed…I’ve shot many thousands of practice rounds with never a problem. I’ve owned a number of nines and prefer this even over my Browning.
Just bought the CZ 75B to replace the Beretta FS 92. Best choice I've made. I would give the CZ at least one point if not more on all points above the Beretta. I've been shooting for over 50 years and if you're looking for a great semi-auto check this one out.
How could you say the CZ 75 over the Beretta 92 was the best choice ever made? Those 2 pistols are the 2 best pistols ever made in my opinion. I think you can't go wrong with either one. I own both and I keep swapping one for the other for which one I like better. The CZ feels like its made to fit in your hand. The beretta has the smoothest action ever. They are both fantastic pistols
omghegotagun, simple. When firing the CZ with the hammer down and a round in the chamber, it automaticlly goes into Double Action with the long heavy pull. To avoid DA, just pull the hammer back all the way and the CZ goes into SingleAction. Every round thereafter will be in SA.
I have owned a CZ 75 B for many years . Also owned many others among the best 9mm and 45 ACP pistols. The CZ always wins out against all others- appearance, ergonomics .accuracy, reliability, endurance etc -simply the best.
Zatracenec I am from eastern Europe. I speak 3 languages. None of them are Czech but my native one also has Č Ž and Š so we are among really few who says Škoda not Skoda lol
240pixel :-D yeah, that's good. But even Americans can pronounce it without a problem. Just replace Š with Sh etc. But I also can't pronounce some kinds of asian food properly. :-)
In addition to those important comments and impressions already stated, I would add that this handgun is the most comfortable semi-automatic pistol to hold in one's hand and this was done with a steel frame. Impressive. That is evidence of the consideration and forethought that went into the design and manufacture of a pistol that was to be an improvement on the John Browning designed Hi-Power pistol. I believe, while there are some compromises, it actually is an improvement on that venerable and excellent Browning design.
I know I’m late to this party but I just accuired one of these through some horse trading with my dad and I am super excited to own it. I’ve shot it a number of times and absolutely love this pistol.

With all due respect to you Mr Sootch, The first Wonder 9 wasnt the CZ-75, howabout the Browning Hi-Power made in 1935 held 13 rounds. I apoligize for dis agreeing on this point
@Matthew Caughey My HP was manufactured in 1976. I have owned it since 1978. Removed the trigger / mag disconnect. Put thousands of rounds through it. It never misses a beat and is completely reliable. My EDC.
I absolutely love my CZ 75B. I’m not a good shot with pistols but the way the CZ 75B is built even I can be an effective shooter. Full metal body (or at least like 85-95%), 9mm, barely smaller than some model 1911’s I barely ever feel any recoil and definitely it doesn’t affect my shooting as much as the newer plastic 9mms that are more popular these days. Absolutely my pistol of choice.
The SP-01 rebuild completely destroyed everything that is good about the CZ-75B. The CZ-75B feels perfect in your hand. The balance is beautiful and it seems so slim compared to other full-size 9mm pistols. The accuracy is great too. The CZ-75 feels like it is an extension of your body, the way any outstanding weapon should. The SP-01, not so much. The SP-01 is too front heavy and therefore has no balance, it feels like it should come with an optional bipod. They also changed the grip, which is one of the best features of the CZ-75 platform, making the one on the SP-01 feel blocky and uncomfortable. I'll stick with the original.
I feel the opposite. The original CZ was one of the most uncomfortable and unimpressive pistols I've ever felt. I liked the aggressive side panels, but the front and backstrap are smooth, something I'm not fond of. It looked cool, but man I couldn't stand the way it felt. I handled the SP-01 not too long ago, and I thought it was nice. It felt much better. The night sights on it were very bright and very crisp looking, and had a checkered front and back strap. It felt surprisingly thin and balanced well for me. In my opinion, the SP-01 is a definite upgrade to the original.
No disagreement from me. The CZ 75b is one amazing pistol. To me it is a complete package- ergonomic, accurate and reliable. I prefer to not mess with perfection.
chapiit08 No, they're not. You should look at american women before you start judging other. What comes out of the US doesn't exactly paint the picture of restrained and virtuous women, does it?
The older I get, the smoother my CZ 75 pre-B shoots. Nice and easy on the hands, and it's a tack driver too. Always great to see another CZ on the 'Tube. Thanks Sootch.
thew CZ85 was designed to compete in the XM9 trials and won both first and second trials, 32 failures in 40k rounds using 4 guns, beating out the S&W M59 (DNF, all 4 guns failed in under 30k rounds), the ruger P85 MKII( 273 failures, 3 dead guns) the HK VP70 ( DNF, all 4 failed in 17k rounds) and the Beretta 92(DNF 4 dead in 12k rounds). unfortunately the requirements were changed to the gun being made in the US and which CZ could not do, if not for that the M9 pistol would have been the CZ85
I actually purchased a CZ17 in 1985 while I was stationed in Germany. I purchased it at an Army Rod and Gun club. I still have it, and it is an excellent 9mm. So it was possible to buy one of these before 1990.
I have had my CZ 97B a few months now and am used to the weight, but it took a little while (one session at the range) to get used to the fat grip. I'm a pretty good size, 6'2" 225 lbs, but have only average size hands for a guy my size. I love it now, ZERO malfunctions, and the kick is minimal for a .45. Still like my CZ 75B the best, but if if I want the punch of a .45, I'd never have anything BUT the CZ 97.
Just got a CZ 75 .40 and love it! Next is SP01 which is rare in Cali. I think the cz is greatest underrated.pistol on the market and trigger pull is great.
I was looking to buy a hi power and on a whim I googled comparable weapons to the Browning. Man I'm glad I did! After seeing tons of favorable reviews and this won't hold my wallet hostage either. This will be in the collection soon.

No disagreement from me. The CZ 75b is one amazing pistol. To me it is a complete package- ergonomic, accurate and reliable. I prefer to not mess with perfection.
I just bought one Saturday. It was either this or a 92. The CZ just felt a little bit better in my hands. I can't wait to get to the range with it!
the best looking women and handguns come from the Czech Republic
chapiit08 that's what is best about them. I love me some whores!
chapiit08
No, they're not. You should look at american women before you start judging other. What comes out of the US doesn't exactly paint the picture of restrained and virtuous women, does it?
Czech street gives Americans these views
1911s are from the US. Your argument is invalid.

The older I get, the smoother my CZ 75 pre-B shoots. Nice and easy on the hands, and it's a tack driver too. Always great to see another CZ on the 'Tube. Thanks Sootch.
:) Funny Česká Zbrojovka. Love your vids in fact Im finishing my licence for hand guns and im going tu buy this one
thew CZ85 was designed to compete in the XM9 trials and won both first and second trials, 32 failures in 40k rounds using 4 guns, beating out the S&W M59 (DNF, all 4 guns failed in under 30k rounds), the ruger P85 MKII( 273 failures, 3 dead guns) the HK VP70 ( DNF, all 4 failed in 17k rounds) and the Beretta 92(DNF 4 dead in 12k rounds). unfortunately the requirements were changed to the gun being made in the US and which CZ could not do, if not for that the M9 pistol would have been the CZ85
Watching this again to add to the views and send a message to UA-cam.
I love your reviews. You make me want to buy every gun you show on this channel! So I started with a CZ 75 Sp01! Thanks for making these vids.
I missed P0 1, i hear it's one of the best. I went for CZ 75B, hope it will come with wonders
Is this a steel frame pistol?
it is.
ij love how much detail you add about the gun. quality channel

I actually purchased a CZ17 in 1985 while I was stationed in Germany. I purchased it at an Army Rod and Gun club. I still have it, and it is an excellent 9mm. So it was possible to buy one of these before 1990.
hh 25-26 years is Czech Republic not Czechoslovakia... is not big difference but we are separated now
I have had my CZ 97B a few months now and am used to the weight, but it took a little while (one session at the range) to get used to the fat grip.
Česká zbrojovka stands for Czech arms factory, so the C does stand for Czech
Lukeeiiee I miss it when it was still Czeskoslovenska Zbrojovka :D
WorldEagleKW man, it was never called this way :) It was called >Precise machineringAgrozet Uhersky Brod< , in 1988 Ceska Zbrojovka Uhersky Brod and then in 1992 simply Ceska Zbojovka
but it is really a semanthic :)
9:02 The sweetest sound I've heard any firearm make.
Ceska Zobrozovka :D :D
It's Česká Zbrojovka in english it means something like Czech Armoury
When sootch reviews a firearm you know it’s good!!
CZ = Česká zbrojovka, I love the way the guy is pronouncing it :-D
I'm from Czechia and it's absolutely dreadful to listen it.
Love to see a review of the CZ 97 BD...hope you do one! Keep the videos coming!!! :)
No no. It's Check slow vodka ikea
Najbolji pistolj ikada napravljen
Mate, Ceska literally means Czech, and it's Zbrojovka, not Zobrozhezhevka :D
I own the Phantom and I love it. However I have really been wanting the all metal CZ-75B. Great review!
My Favorite Gun,Love form India🇮🇳
I’ve been looking at getting a handgun for a couple years now. I’ve been to gun stores and have been able to hold it and I just loved the way it felt in my hand. After watching this video, I’m pretty much sold on getting one.
česka žebrovka - česká zbrojovka :D Nothing on you, you are from america so to say it right you have to practice, I know, but it make smile on my face. Again nothing on you
One of the best pistols ever made and still is.
Slide in frame design and overall design is juts best.
Still beats any modern pistol in any form and caliber.
Jesus Loves You
Jesus is dead. Move on.
I'm totally getting one in a couple of months. SOOOOOOOOO excited!!
dear sir.i have enjoyed watching your video and I must agree with every thing you are saying about the cz 75 b. I went to my friend gun shop and I saw the cz 75 b 9mm in the show case. as the day went by I wind up buying the cz..i took it to the range and this pistol blew me out of the water.my eyes are not as good as they were once . I realy don't have enough words to describe how I feel about it...I like it so much I traded my glock 34 for it. the best move ever. now I have the best I. in 3 worlds..desert eagle 1911g, desert eagle in s&w 40 and my cz 75 b. now my collection is complete
My collection is never complete even after telling myself that it is. 🫤🙂👍
Sootch, great review on a great gun. I own three of them...Cold War Commemorative in 9mm, never shot...75B in .40 S&W and my newest addition is the P-06, also in .40 S&W (my daily carry gun. Guess after this review I'm gonna have to pick up the 75B in 9mm, now, though I am not a 9mm kind of guy. Oh, I have shot hundreds and hundreds of rounds through my .40 75B with no problems with springs or broken parts. Truly, one of the best and finest handguns I have ever owned or shot. 97B soon to come
Got this as my first handgun after turning 21. I conceal carry it whenever I can. I love this pistol
What condo do you carry it? Cocked and locked?
Just an excellent detailed look at this classic design. Nice work.
A lot of guys have been caring CZ IN South Africa for years, in fact the first gun i shot with......... yip, CZ 75B.......... Cant go wrong, i don't know about the States but here in South Africa definitely one of the more affordable brands......... Great value for your buck.
Sootch, you make the best handgun reviews! Keep up the great work!
Hey Sootch, I was just chatting with a buddy about the CZ 75 versus 45 ACP, you know the same-o same old argument LOL
but at the end there you fired up a big old stick and it looked so good so I'm going to have to dig out a Hoyo de Monterrey Maduro Maduro and join you in spirit!! 😁
Maranatha, Brother!
Loved your review. I have one of my own and I love shooting it. Ts a classic gone with great reliability an I use for my home defense as well as my cz utility shotgun
This is my next piece I’ve been doing my research on this baby. Went into the shop today to see it and get my hands on it. I’ve decided to cop it. Love it 😍
Does its quality match the 150 dollar High Point ?
I have a Shadow and love it. I use it in IPSC and it is very accurate. I have never had a failure that wasn't operator related.
The polymer frame model is named Phantom, the Shadow is a full steel gun suited for ipsc production
You have the best gun reviews on UA-cam....Mr. Sootch
What does your M&P do? Light primer strikes? I have run over a thousand rounds through mine and had zero issues.... I hope you send it back for repair because it is an excellent pistol, minus the trigger which takes some getting used to.
great review . you made clear some thoughts I had about this model . Thanks
Excellent review
Whenever you pull the slide, it reminds me of the CZ 75 in CoD black ops
Thanks for the review, Don. I've been looking at buying a new pistol to go with 92fs. So I've been looking at lots of reviews lately. Right now I'm looking at buying a p226 MK25. What's your opinion on the pistol?
