Comparing a CZ 75 to a Glock is like comparing T Bone steak to a McDonalds big mac. Not even in the same neighborhood. 6 ounces is nothing for what you get in return.
+gudlad61 Yeah, your gun laws are terrible - as are in Scandinavia, France and many other western EU countries. :( And now politicians are trying to implement such stupid laws in the rest of the EU. How can anyone think or say that disarming honest citizens is making them safer?! I'm from Czech Republic BTW. Take care! :)
@@michalurbanful Bullshit, here in Norway you can own (after safety course) pretty much any pistol made anywhere. No limitation to accessories like silencers or high cap mags either.
@@varjagg As far as I know, Norway is not in the EU. So keep your bullshit for yourself. Your country has its own issues just as any other. And seeing your laws from the outside... Please keep away.
Aneesh Sompalli Dunno why. They are fricken awesome. They feel like they were made for a persons hand. The ergonomics are amazing. Hickok45 seems to love them too.
Fast forward 2 1/2 years to 10/17. CZ upgraded the standard Omaga model to the 75B DA/SA (much improved trigger system) Omega "Convertible" which simply means that you can choose the option of a ambi thumb safety (included in the carry case), or leave the pistol in the decocker mode. I have the Convertible model on order with Hyatt Gun Works, North Carolina for $539.97. In case you're interested, Hyatt has a 90 day layaway plan, and they ship all throughout the USA.
Lots of respect for your honest review. Just got my cz 75b omega back from cz customs with all the bells and whistles. They custom fit a new competition hammer and let's just say it's the best shooting pistol I have ever shot bar none.
This is really one of the best reviews for any handgun that I’ve come across. Great camera work, important points discussed, good background info, and an articulate and enthusiastic host. Keep up the good work!
Sootch00, I bought a new generation P-07 after watching your review of it. Dude, I LOVE it! It is amazing. I put a steel guide rod and 15# recoil spring from Cajun Gun Works... what a difference. Thumbs way up, buddy!
Your review inspired me to buy a CZ75B Omega, I was able to pick one up new $459 shipped. You are spot on about this pistol and CZ. Their quality is unmatched at this price point. Now I want a Scorpion :-)
Sootch, I realize this video is old, and didn't read through all the comments, so maybe someone mentioned this, but there is a MUCH safer way to manually decock the hammer. 1) In the full cocked position, wedge your thumb between the hammer and slide without putting any tension on the hammer 2) press and quickly release the trigger (this way the firing pin block will be engaged again) 3) the hammer should now fall a fraction of a fraction of an inch against your thumb that is wedged in front of it and stop 4) slowly remove your thumb, allowing the hammer to catch on the 1/2 cocked hammer hook. This is how I manually decock my P-07 gen 2, after having worked the DA pull to 6.75 - 7 lbs and SA to 3 lbs. I didn't feel comfortable with the decocker anymore for carry, so I threw in the safety and learned this technique to decock to the 1/2 cocked position (I also don't feel comfortable in carrying fully locked-and-cocked)
Sootch, your reviews are just plain great. Details are presented logically and effectively. I'd vote you "best gun reviewer" of the very fine reviewers out there.
Thank you for demonstrating both the pros and the cons. You seem to be doing that more and more in your reviews. It's great to see both sides! Keep up the good work brother!
The CZ 75B Omega was the first handgun I bought and its still one of my all time favorite shooters. I have been thinking of adding a set of VZ grips in the Cherry cololr, after seeing them on yours, I am gonna have to order a pair.
I just bought a CZ 75B Omega the other day. Haven’t had the chance to shoot it but I’ve watched this video probably 5 times now in anticipation of getting to do so. Mine is stamped 2018 and it has the same straight trigger and hammer as the P-07. It also has the P-07 luminescent sights that come back to the rear.
Still the best out-of-the-box 9mm I've ever owned! I've got the CZ-75B and CZ-75P01 and love them both. The P01 is my daily carry and it never fails to impress. Great review Sootch!
Excellent video... Gentleman is very smooth in his delivery, carefully going over all facets of the Cz 75B omega... I have been listening to loads of gun video's and this is done in the most informative, well organized way! I'll be looking for more from Mr SootchOO.
Like Duvall said, "I like something with a little heft." Referring to his pistola. CZs are amazing. I have twin 75Bs in 40 s&w that I sometimes carry at the same time... concealed! Man up.
Very well done video, with a wealth of good info. A good presentation. The CZ has been on my radar for quite a while, during the years when I shot the Browning Hi-Power and the 1911. The Omega trigger system on this pistol looks like the ticket, and it suits the high capacity requirement as well. I've always favored the .45, although as 9mm continues to improve, there seems to be less of a difference. This video covered all the points of interest, and it gets a big thumbs up as well. Thanks.
I'm currently looking at the CZ75 B and, like a lot of potential buyers, am undecided as to the standard vs. Omega trigger systems. I appreciate your objective review.
I bought one on your recommendation some time back,..sure glad I did. This gun has become my favorite too. It's a beautiful gun to handle and fire. Even the case it comes with is nearly perfect as it has room for the third magazine. ( I bought a MecGar ) Great gun, you won't regret buying one of these CZ's.
Have the cz-p07 w/extended barrel and metal 3-dot night sights and the standard cz-75 bd. These pistols are great! Always enjoy your reviews of the cz's, as well as the others! Thanks Sootch!
GunGlutton I'm with you on that. He is usually spot on with firearm advice but I love my CZ (getting a second) and they've been used worldwide in police & military units... I wonder if he saw some kind of short comings when he was in the field with older CZ's? I'd like to hear his take, watch that video. Won't change my mind about CZ, still info is info.
Thank you Sir for the extensive review of this gun! I got mine about 1 week ago and I’m really enjoying it, this is the first gun I own and plan to keep it for a long time! You’ve earned one more subscriber to your great channel
Hey sootch00 thanks for the vid, I'm really new into the gun world and have been looking at CZs as an option for my first handgun. This vid really helps solidify my want for a CZ 75
@sootch00 I am loving your accent and beyond that, your wise approach to the firearms. Love to hear about Latest Gen Desert Eagles and H&K .45 from your perspective. PS: I am from Turkey, and watched your Canik review. I just want to point out it pronounced as "Jhanick".
Another great CZ from Fun Gun Reviews. Thanks for highlighting the Omega trigger system. Sootch, tell CZ to checker that grip on the front & back. My SP-01 has really nice CZechering, especially on the rear of the grip. Skateboard tape works but the guns are pieces of functional art, hate to half-arse em with tape.
The Czechs always make great pistols, Submachine guns, assault rifles, and bolt action rifles. We studied many back in Special Forces Weapons course when it was on good old Smoke Bomb Hill.
I love my CZ 75b with the Omega trigger, it is the only handgun I have with a safety. When I was looking for a 75 I tried both the Omega trigger and the standard trigger 75's in my LGS. It was a easy choice to get the Omega, for me there was a big difference in how the trigger felt. Perhaps it was just perception... I have two CZ's customized by Cajun Gun Works and know I could always buy the standard trigger 75 and have it Cajunized... but the Omega trigger felt good enough I didn't feel a need for any work.
i just picked up a omega 75 B for $ 560 before taxes brand new in the box. 2 mags i thought it was a steal no night sighs but that thing is sweet on single action.
CZ are nice, I have their CZ 455 Bolt action rifle in 22lr, ..its a tack driving beast. The CZ 455 is a multi changeout caliber system, its barrel screws out for a 22wmr or the 17 hmr, as well as the 22 lr...they have inserts for the magazines to compliment the different calibers.....Sootch00 IS PRESENTING CZ pistols....thinking highly about getting one sometime this year....especially if they're as accurate as their bolt action rifles.
As a left handed and left eye dominant guy, I would appreciate it, if in this and other reviews, you could comment if a pistol is compatible with left handed shooters and if there is any downside to a left handed shooter using a particular pistol. Otherwise I really enjoy your reviews.
Sootch, thanks for the review, I've been considering a full size CZ for some time. I have a PCR Pro-Tek I from the CZ Custom shop and it's a great pistol, of course with the custom mods it's even more amazing and my favorite gun. Just an FYI, you mentioned polymer base pads for your magazines, the Tanfoglio/EAA Witness 16 RD magazines have base pads and work perfectly. The IWI Jericho magazines also work, along with the original MRI Baby Eagle magazines, of course all made my Mec-Gar. Also, the Mec-Gar branded magazines, at least for my PCR, go for about $21 shipped from just about any of the online retailers.
I have this pistol. It is awesome in every way and feels very natural to shoot. On a negative side, I found it is a bit difficult to clean(reach) in areas on the slide: where the guide rod spring rests; and also that small indentation, to which a notch on the barrel, one atop of the chamber, mates.
Oh Man!! You really Know what you are talking about. I just enjoy every one of your video's Brother...... Good Luck and Thank you for sharing your Knowlage with us...:)
Always enjoy the videos. I have had a few cz items and always miss them. Might look again at them this week. Really want a metal over poly pistol this time.
Mecgar makes the factory magazine for CZ. The only difference is some stampings on the Mecgar branded magazine. I bought mine at Brownells for $22 I believe. I shoot a 75BD in USPSA. I highly recommend the DA upgrade kit from Cajun Gun Works. I also recommend replacing the thin factory magazine base pads. They ding to easy if dropped on rocks, etc. I had to use a punch on mine when I replaced them with Springer Precision base pads.
I have a CZ75 (pre B model) that I absolutely love! I want a B model too but the price is high! I only paid $300 for my 1981 gun. This new trigger may have me interested again in getting another CZ.
I have the cz75 b model and I was lucky when I bought mine it took me a few months to locate and find it. I had debated that or the civilian m9 version. however what took me was the grip and instantly loved it. I have a cz 82 and a cz83 on the way. all great guns. even the cz75 I have carried. you just gotta get use to the weight.
Thank you for the review I use a springfield hellcat for conceal carry but decided on getting this for the range over a glock heard the reliability is much better to
I traded away a Walther PPQ (yeah yeah, best striker-fired trigger, best polymer handgun blah blah) for the CZ 75B Omega. Don't get me wrong, the Walther shot pretty well. But with all these polymer-striker pistols getting all the attention, the CZ still whips them all. Even more so, the SP-01, man what an outstanding gun! So yeah, I'm glad to have gotten the better of that PPQ/CZ75 trade :)
Just a little correction on your trivia, the most used sidearm for the military the world over is the Browning HP. I believe even today several countries still use it. The CZ is a fine weapon (and probably a touch more accurate), but it's not as widespread as the HP.
Can't forget the P210. Maybe Sig will bring it back someday in some way, because they're current lineup is forgettable...at least in comparison to CZ's!
when using that trigger pulling device, i suggest u try to hook at the middle of the trigger curve and pull perpendicular to that curve (recall Jr Hi Geometry or Vector Math/Physics in Hi SKOooo). Then, it should give true n more consistent readings assuming that the trigger mechanism is decent. For exaggeration, hook it at the top of the trigger, and rotate the hook shaft toward the rear sight. Then pull it. And also try hooking at the bottom tip of the trigger, then pull it from different extreme angles.
Have my eye on a PCR from the custom shop with the trigger-hammer upgrade. Already own the standard PCR , and P07. Then I watched your 2nd gen P07 review. Damn your going to have to quit with the CZ reviews or I'm never going to get the 1911 I want. I love the ergonomics of these firearms.
I like the CZ 75 B very much, but I'm confused about the triggers. The model I occasionally get to shoot is an older 75 BD. Its trigger, unmodified, is not "smooth." It's straight-up "crisp," with no creep whatsoever. It's one of the best pistol triggers I've ever encountered. Every video I've seen of the Omega trigger illustrates significant creep. Since most folks are saying that the Omega is better, I'm wondering where the disconnect is. Have I been shooting a fluke 75B?
The Social Regressive No, you've just been shooting a good CZ that's broken in :-) BTW, if I were you I'd stay away from the Omega trigger 75s, it's designed for the P07, CZ should've never tried to stick in the 75 B-frame
Comparing a CZ 75 to a Glock is like comparing T Bone steak to a McDonalds big mac.
Not even in the same neighborhood. 6 ounces is nothing for what you get in return.
A T-bone steak to a McDonald's big mac? I thought u would use cheeseburger instead of big mac. Lol.
Amazing weapon. As an ex British military I would love to own one of these. Unfortunately we don't have gun rights in our country :-/

Skateboard tape works but the guns are pieces of functional art, hate to half-arse em with tape.

Did I Mention.......I LUV my CZ P-09 !
You've definitely reinforced my thoughts on the Omega Trigger.

Sootch!!! great review buddy. I just bought one up here in Canada. Thanks.
Elegant and for what I've heard , reliable and accurate gun .

Hey, I've been watching your reviews and videos for years and its great to see another. Keep up the good work!
i just picked up a omega 75 B for $ 560 before taxes brand new in the box. 2 mags i thought it was a steal no night sighs but that thing is sweet on single action.
From where? I'm looking to buy one
Best of presentations. Thank you.
I made my first steps with a SP01-tactical and it made me look good and it kept my interest because it did not frustrate me.
Fantastic review indeed. Answered every question I had about this pistol, now i'm ready to purchase!
Love that ya used AC/DC for the intro music!
My first pistol was a sp-01 tactical, insanely smooth actions.
CZ are nice, I have their CZ 455 Bolt action rifle in 22lr, ..its a tack driving beast. The CZ 455 is a multi changeout caliber system, its barrel screws out for a 22wmr or the 17 hmr, as well as the 22 lr...they have inserts for the magazines to compliment the different calibers.....Sootch00 IS PRESENTING CZ pistols....thinking highly about getting one sometime this year....especially if they're as accurate as their bolt action rifles.

the cz 85b, p09, and p07 are all ambidextrous
Do not have a cz75. I do however have a EAA Witness in .45acp. All metal pistol. Incredibly accurate and awesome to shoot. Love it.

you had me at "recoil mitigation"
I have this pistol. It is awesome in every way and feels very natural to shoot. On a negative side, I found it is a bit difficult to clean(reach) in areas on the slide: where the guide rod spring rests; and also that small indentation, to which a notch on the barrel, one atop of the chamber, mates.
Just picked one up for my son yesterday. Great video.
Oh Man!! You really Know what you are talking about. I just enjoy every one of your video's Brother...... Good Luck and Thank you for sharing your Knowlage with us...:)
LOVE CZ 75 B and the 07
Freaking awesome handguns. I love mine.
Nice video, nice music👍👍Cz series are great

Great sidearm, good presentation, thanks
Oh I love those grips I got my dad some vz frag grips in whatever that Tiger color is for Christmas
I have a CZ75 (pre B model) that I absolutely love! I want a B model too but the price is high! I only paid $300 for my 1981 gun. This new trigger may have me interested again in getting another CZ.
Watched your older reviews on Cz. And got one for myself now I know what you meant about the low recoil of these guns
I love CZs. The CZ 75 B here in the Philippines cost at around 46,000 to 50,000 Pesos.
P59,500
CZs look good and I like the design, but I respect Todd Green's opinion on pistol-forum. There is info out there on CZ reliability.
Great vid as always ! Keep them coming.
Another gun on my long list. I see these locally around $500 pretty consistently. Seems like a great deal for an all metal gun.
Great review - I've always felt the CZ75 was a more modern version of the P35 Browning. Won't give up my Hi Power for anything though.
Thank you for the review I use a springfield hellcat for conceal carry but decided on getting this for the range over a glock heard the reliability is much better to
Excellent review! AS ALWAYS!
Sootch, new subscriber, love the channel. Also an ac/dc diehard, can't help but feel like I hear a little Who Made Who in the background music lol.
Haven't heard this song since your PPQ M2 review. That review convinced me to get a PPQ
CZ ROCKS,...MY FAV 9MMs are all wearing the CZ badge !
Much demand
Such quality
Wow.
Picking this one up tomorrow 😈
I traded away a Walther PPQ (yeah yeah, best striker-fired trigger, best polymer handgun blah blah) for the CZ 75B Omega. Don't get me wrong, the Walther shot pretty well. But with all these polymer-striker pistols getting all the attention, the CZ still whips them all. Even more so, the SP-01, man what an outstanding gun! So yeah, I'm glad to have gotten the better of that PPQ/CZ75 trade :)
Just picked up my first cz. Got the 75 compact, my other guns will collect dust now!
Nice review. Very informative. Thank you.
Another great review. Thanks.

The CZ-75 was certainly influenced by the Browning HP 35, but let's not forget the Swiss SIG P-210 in regards to the internal rails.
Can't forget the P210. Maybe Sig will bring it back someday in some way, because they're current lineup is forgettable...at least in comparison to CZ's!
love the CZ pistols I also have a sar arms b6 steel frame that is a tank of a pistol thanks for the great video
Love this gun and your videos.
GREAT Gun and Review - Love Mine!
loved it! I've got a Jericho 941 which is a copy of this pistol and it is an excellent design.
***** what do you mean by "two first names"?, Kevin is my first and Steve is my second name. Anyway, thank you!
***** thanks!
when using that trigger pulling device, i suggest u try to hook at the middle
of the trigger curve and pull perpendicular to that curve (recall Jr Hi Geometry
or Vector Math/Physics in Hi SKOooo). Then, it should give true n more consistent
readings assuming that the trigger mechanism is decent.
For exaggeration, hook it at the top of the trigger, and rotate the hook shaft toward
the rear sight. Then pull it. And also try hooking at the bottom tip of the trigger,
then pull it from different extreme angles.
This pistol reminds me of the Browning Hi-Power
I love CZ. I have the 550 mannlicher stock rifle in 308 cal.
Great video love CZ's thanks for sharing
iam planing to put a 11.5# hammer spring and extended firepin in mine ...gonna be soo awwwwweeesooooome... cant wait.
The Social Regressive No, you've just been shooting a good CZ that's broken in :-)
BTW, if I were you I'd stay away from the Omega trigger 75s, it's designed for the P07, CZ should've never tried to stick in the 75 B-frame
