The engagement dress was shocking for many reasons. It was a ballgown, it was sheer on top, it was made for a tall, slim figure, the colour was awful and the price of it was ridiculous.
It’s the price that got me. It’s like she just wanted to get the most expensive dress now that she bagged a Prince. She did claim later she thought harry had more money.
Wasn't Catherine's engagement photo dress a regular dress available at good retailers? I believe sales of that dress skyrocketed because it was so beautiful, versatile and affordable.

Oh black at weddings is much more common now, or black patterned. My sisters wedding party wore black and she wore white! My 90 yr old grandpa, whispered to me during the ceremony, is this a funeral or a wedding? Then he giggled 😅

I think the engagement dress was the worst from an etiquette point of view. Looked like expensive lingerie worn out in public.
I also think the engagement dress was the first thing she charged to Charles' account. Almost like she was testing the waters to see how much she could get away with.
To me the skirt part looked like one of those fluffy petticoats they used to wear under skirts in the 1800s to make them stand out instead of wearing a crinoline. Just very odd.

You know what NO GOWN should cost $75,OOO. This is just unethical to pay 75 grand for a few pieces of material. I do not believe this gown involved that much labor either. If they are so much into charity, she could have worn a dress for $2,000 (still hella expensive) and give those other 73 grand to a good cause.

The engagement dress is both ridiculous and also very vulgar. Someone who wants to be seen as an acceptable member of the RF could not have chosen a worse garment than that. She was basically telling the world that all she wanted to be seen as is a “sexpot”. Not remotely “Royal” so we shouldn’t have been at all surprised that her idea of impressing the whole country was to show off her sexiness. I guess that is what must have got Harry hooked so she thought everyone else would have been equally impressed!
She thinks she’s very sexy and wanted to be the “hot” royal. Unfortunately for her she is not at all. While quite attractive, her aura, personality and hollowness do not give off sexy vibes in the least.

The colors for the Commonwealth Service were red, white and blue, she showed in looking like kermit the frog. She claims she was only told to wear beige, white neutrals so not to take the shine off the late QEII - most believe she was told to wear color so she could be seen and she chose to be a punk about it b/c she continues to wear beige, white, tan, etc even though not a working royal.

As an older English woman ,and just a member of the public ,I,have always been aware of the standards of dress for the Royal Family ,so I,do not understand why no one spoke up and said NO ,this is not appropriate .Everyone else abides by the rules,but some two bit actress rode rough shod over protocol .
I think she used the R card from practically the beginning, then kept ignoring the advice and dress code she was provided with. I didn’t realise just how many revolting and inappropriate to the occasion outfits she wore, it must be her only talent.
I'm sure the RF did advise her, but she wanted to do her own thing. And we see the results of that.

You are ABSOLUTELY right and I'm an American. We also don't claim these two. At least not those who are in our right minds. We still can't believe that Meghan claims to also be a "Fashion Model." All we can do is Shake Our Heads and hope they move to Nigeria or India. At least India has Bollywood and might actually let Meghan be a REAL actress. We are sorry, though, that GB has been plagued with her. And we've no doubt that the Wonderful Queen Elizabeth knew absolutely everything about Meghan except perhaps the potential of her ego. An unearned ego.
Tbh I've always got the impression she dresses so badly for a couple of reasons:
A. She has no idea what suits her or her figure
B. She doesn't listen to advice on what does look good on her.....wants her own way.
C. Thinks spending thousands on designer clothes will magically look good.
D. She dresses badly and inappropriately for the attention.....look at me look at me....
As for Harry even in a suit he looks scruffy......

The sheer blue skirt when meeting people outside in he daytime was the worst. The royal family handled her all wrong. They should have told her that as the wife of the spare she was required to wear strapless and sheer clothing, that she was required to wear black to state occasions and to weddings, that she was not allowed to look anything like Princess Catherine. Well, it’s too late now.
She should have been made to receive approval before events. We all have a uniform. If she didn’t wear the appropriate attire, Buckingham Palace should have sent her own to change.

Unfortunately, Harry was her enabler. It was probably exhausting for the Royal staff to keep picking fights they could not win. I'll bet they all sighed with relief when she was finally escorted on the plane and flew out of the country.

I think the blue pleated skirt actually outdoes the white baggy dress and flying saucer hat. A poor fit is one thing, standing in direct sunllight showing your panties to the public while representing the monarchy goes way beyond unprofessional. It's blatantly disrespectful.
The blue dress with her panties showing thru was the worst. No woman would wear something like that to a meet and greet! Or we would have worn some type of slip so our undies are showing. I think Megs did all of this on purpose to give the monarchy the finger. NO ONE could make that many wardrobe mistakes every time you stepped out in public. For me, it's the first one. I remember the Vanity Fair Cover and Engagement Interview raising red flags in my head that she was his only GF to do a magazine interview and saying she had no idea who he or the RF was off but the 75K ball gown cemented it for me and I was like, "Oh, that's why she's marrying him. The attention and glamour. Yeah, this is not going to go well."

For me, it was the blue pleated skirt that was the worst! She purposefully wore that in the hopes of having a viral Diana as a nursery school teacher moment. I'm so pleased that it didn't have the effect that she was going for.

Diana was caught backlit, and it was unintentional and embarrassing for her, poor girl. It was so mean of the media publishing that photo. Nobody blamed her for it, unless it was a gentle warning to wear a slip all the time to avoid a recurrence. MeAgain on the other hand... 🙄

Having worked in women's fashions over many years of changing styles, let me applaud your critique of Markle, Mistress of Mess. Spot on. For a woman who has wealth as well as curb appeal, she definitely misses the bullseye, right passed the entire target hitting scorched earth every time. Even a blind monkey hits the mark occasionally. JMO

Black, sheer dress for an engagement photoshoot.... Interesting choice. And for a wedding.... Here in Europe in most countries its rude to appear in black on occasions like these.
I wore a sheer, short (just above the knee) black dress with white lining and piping to a wedding so it ended up looking grey. But in my defence it was summer in Australia so we are a bit less strict with fashion rules in the heat. But I agree, generally one should not wear black to a wedding.
It's also very rude in the United States.

I didn't know what all the fuss was about that engagement dress until years later, when I read that the photographer had to arrange their pose to hide Meghan's nipples. I had assumed that the bodice was lined; but noooo. After that, I'm really surprised that the queen didn't rescind her permission, even if Meghan did tell her she was pregnant.
She didn’t because the QE2 wasn’t like that and because of the issues with Princess Margaret.

Early in the engagement, she had the "new money" mentality. She wanted top labels and the more expensive the better with no thought of how it looks.
She’s STILL that way. That hideous outfit she wore in NY this week was like $4000.00 before the shoes & accessories. Catherine who also had events this week also wore a cream top & skirt that were around $150.00 per piece and the yellow blazer she wore was under $500.00. Kate seems to be able to mix high street and couture on a regular basis and make it all work. Of course she also gets her clothes properly tailored and wears appropriate foundational garments.

As a larger chested gal I own 1-2 strapless bras. They are specifically to be worn with set outfits. As a smaller busted gal she actually has more options. Yet she seems oblivious.
Most decent boutiques would almost insist on set undergarments to seal a purchase. So what world famous house wouldn't knowing without that their outfit would look horrible? Boogles my mind.
My take on the constant wearing of strapless bras is that she is overly enamored with showing those linebacker shoulders, wearing wide boatnecks, necessitating strapless bras.
Someone, somewhere has a lot to answer for, That someone suggested to Meghan that her shoulders were her best feature, and that she should show them off at every.single.opportunity.
Knowing Megs as we do, I'm guessing she's had a boob job, so nothing moves(!) and the strapless bra thing is to let everyone know she doesn't really need a bra at all... 😉
I'm sure Megan is a he. Her whole body shape, back, shoulders and rear end seems to say it all. The female actresses of Hollywood are male and male men are female. Its all been taken off utube now but been like that since the 40s 50s. Its put me off movies completely.
The worst of these, for me, is her wearing the see-through skirt to a daytime event with children. I imagine a lot of kids went home talking about seeing her underwear. Disgusting!
Seeing how badly some of these dresses fit makes me think MM really doesn't know her own figure. Perhaps she thinks that by wearing 4-inch heels, she magically changes her body proportions to those of a 5-foot, 7-inch woman? The black dress she wore to her friend's wedding is a great example of that. You can see the fabric in the sleeves and bodice blousing (puddling) because they are too long for her. I agree the color is all wrong for a wedding, but some alterations could have made the fit much better, and the overall look more pleasing.

The engagement dress was on loan from the creators. How she thought it was appropriate is beyond me. I'm sure the late Queen and Prince Philip shouted to the staff "lock up all the valuables" when they saw it and heard the $75,000 price tag.

I think that’s one of the first shocker to the late QE2. I doubt the Quuen’s most expensive gown is even £20,000.
Considering the "disappearance" of several pieces of loaned Crown jewelry (and other people's things as well) they definitely learned to lock up the valuables.

You could give the Megz the most beautiful outfit in the world and she will make it look horrible - wrinkled, ill fitting, she can take the best and make it the worst and can take the worst and make it even worse. The engagement dress was a massive red flag of what was to come. It’s the first time I thought to myself oh oh she’s going to be trouble.
She has never changed the first impression that she made at the Invictus in Toronto: ripped jeans, man's white shirt with sleeves pushed up, taking a stride twice as big as Harry's, hair strings in her eyes and mouth, head tilted, smiling at everything, including the pavement; the only thing has changed is the large shoulder bag. But she has remained the empty giggly chick from California without any sense of duty, decorum, or decency.
I feel like Meg's style is from every "chick flick" she's ever seen: Princess Diaries, Pretty Woman etc. Her only "signature look" is her updo with the 2 straggly strands in her face.

I totally agree. The back fat and the arms and bust were trying to bust out at the seams. I was shocked when I saw it.
She had just had a baby, so while the dress could have been tailored to fit, it was OK looking just a little too tight. I dont think she ever listened to her stylist or took advice. She always feels like she knows better, which is sad. Listening to others is good.

They were told to leave the garden party. She sashayed her hips up the steps on the way out to make sure everyone got an eyeful. She arrived in a combative move. She didn't want to line up according to royal protocol to come out, then her loud comments about how boring it was. Nervy for a newlywed.

Hi Beebs, I would love to hear your opinion of the 'toilet roll' dress Meg's recently wore in NY. Not only did she wear an evening dress during the day, but it was wildly inappropriate for a discussion which concerned the death of teenagers, resulting from the often insidious influence the internet. Perhaps, something a little less ostentatious would have been more appropriate. Or even something that didn't look as if she had been carted off to 'The Shady Brain' rest home. (It looks like a bloody straight jacket.)
That look was horrific. Made her look like an NFL linebacker.

Hi Beebs! Love today’s video! For the past few days, everyone has been talking about m’s pantsuit she wore in NYC, and rightfully so…an ill-fitting, inappropriate choice for both the occasion and and a daytime event. But are we all wrong for judging megs for her bad choice. After all, she told the world who she was by wearing that ballgown for her engagement photo! A dress which, at first glance looked more like an ice skater’s costume, and cost 75K. Right then and there Charles should have refused to pay for the dress, and the palace should have pushed back on Meghan’s bad taste, rule-breaking, and disrespectful attitude.

What I’m noticing in the engagement photo is the natural, happy smile Harry has on his face and we haven’t seen that since the wedding.
The cost of their wedding always turned my stomach. By the time of his wedding, he was no longer " The Spare". William and Catherine had their 3 children. Spending that much money on that wedding was nauseating.
With access to the top fashion designers in the world, why do you think any designer allows her to dress and wear their clothing in such unflattering and detrimental ways? Don’t these people see what she looks like? And say “don’t ever let that woman wear my clothes again!”
Her fasion looks. Her poses, her holding on to harry all throw of Caroline Bisset Kennedy vibes. Caroline wore white shirts, sleeves folded. Also her colours were monochromatic.

But Carolyn Bessette was like 6 feet tall, and 90 lbs. She literally was the muse for Calvin Klein. She wore a BUNCH of clothes that ordinary women like Medusa could never pull off. She also had very pale skin, long blond hair and blue eyes so muted tones like beige and gray really flattered her coloring.
I think MM was like 5’5 and a boxy SquareBob SquarePants shape with chicken legs. She also looked terrible in neutrals. They washed her out while she would have looked good in bright colors like the RF wanted her to wear because she was a Winter. But of course MM has to copy somebody she doesn’t resemble in the least.
And Carolyn Bessette was very minimalist in her look, not messy. She didn't roll up/crumple sleeves for example.
I don’t understand the immaturity of her mesh decisions. She has always had the worst eye for clothing for the occasions. It’s like she thinks she’s a 20 year old ingenue.
Her and that wig she wears. No one ever says anything about the wigs. Its hard to tell. Ive only heard on One channel about the wigs.
I always wished a woc would comment on textured hair, if curly hair, wigs weaves, are hard to control.

I didn’t realise there were so many black dresses she wore. Black ( in the RF ) was only ever to be worn as mourning attire. That’s my pennies worth. Love your channel so much. 🥰

I remember that garden party. I was so excited to see her and what she would wear. Unfortunately, I found her outfit underwhelming, and the way she sashayed out of the venue was soooo cringe.

in the photo where she embarrasses the hall family by accepting gifts, you can see Harry looking to his left, thats the moment when his father informed him he has a car ready for them to leave and they , both H and M were a bit shocked cause they didnt knew it will happen but the King was informed she was complaining she wants to leave cause its boring and people heard her plus she stuck her tong out to Camila and a few photographs ...just embarrassing situation and humiliating exit when nobody spoke to them ...and everybody new what happened the next day.

Catherine's engagement dress was lovely, and which although not exactly a department store item, was certainly not anywhere near the ridiculous cost of Me-again's. It was a gorgeous shade of royal blue, which matched the sapphire in her ring. William wore a navy blue suit. All very classy. The shape of things to come.
Moving on... For someone recovering from a cold, Beeb, you certainly look lovely.
Also, you now have a very nice looking painting behind you, but oh how I miss the drawing of the cute rabbit; it always made me smile. 😊
I was invited to a wedding once. I wanted to wear a hat with my outfit. However, I asked the bride if it would be appropriate for how she wanted her guests to dress. She said it wasn't. I didn't wear it. Wearing black to a wedding without it being a theme is absolutely inappropriate!
The black outfit with the V on top looks very pretty on her but it reminds me of a graduation gown but in dress form lol.
The photographer had to take photos from different angles to make sure not to cause any trouble, one of the photos she’s actually wearing a jacket over the top so you could not see her top, this was so unusual as most photos of other women were wearing day wear, suits or dresses.
Im sorry to the designer, but dress #2 looks like a house coat!

I think the black mesh dress that was split up the back was by far one of MM’s worse. Her hair was awful too!
To be fair, I thought the engagement dress looked nice. It was fitted, and flattering. But 75K for that thing? To me, that was the first sign that this woman needed to have some limits in her clothing allowance. I think MM should have been given a budget. The RF made a serious mistake when they thought she would naturally limit herself. Something royals have to do when spending public funds. For instance they should have told her, “ You can spend $1500 on a dress.” Anything over that would have to come from her own pocket.
I think the RF will do that for future royal wives of George and Louis and also P. Charlotte. It won’t be left u to their own discretion

It’s been reported that Charles paid between £1.2 million - £2 million for her clothes for the short time she was a’working’ 😂 royal during which time she did 70-72 official engagements. Allegedly more than all the European royals put together. After that first dress I can believe the £2 mill!
