FINALLY! The Meg "returns to the red carpet" (where's the red carpet?) in one of the most confusing dresses we've seen. Is it supposed to be off the shoulder? Is it supposed to be puddling on the ground? What is happening? And, fun question: Which was worse? The dress or the PINNACLE OF EMBARRASMENT that was the Meg's desperate lingering in front of the cameras past her welcome? Truly, it's a tough call, be sure to leave it in the comments! I think she picks beige because she thinks it’s a colour the rich wear. I think she went with an avant-guard design because she wants to seem intelligent, influential and inventive. But beige doesn’t suit her and she is too stubborn to have her garments altered to fit.

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy wore only beige, white and black and in minimalistic styles. Navy blue on rare occasions. She was considered immensely stylish and a muse for certain designers. I suspect Markle is trying to emulate Carolyn who was called an American Princess and hated the attention she got from the media.
But the colors worked on Carolyn’s coloring, figure and height which utterly fail on Markle.

The digging in the hells really shows what a nightmare she must have been for the royal family. No one can tell her what to do, even if they’re trying to help her.
That rag she wore was driving me insane! I have made clothes since I was a teenager, over 50 years now. I was taught how to alter patterns to fit your specific body type. The model may have worn it off the shoulder in the ad, but that is a fashion advertising shot. The front center bodice seam and back zipper indicate that the dress was DESIGNED to be worn SLIGHTLY off the shoulders, not massively off the shoulder. Otherwise it would not have had a center front bodice seam and the zipper would have been on the side of the dress so it didn't look like she got dressed in the dark!
Also it drives me nuts how she thinks beige should be on its own LMAO I recently started having to buy clothes in only neutral colors because my entire closet was nothing but colors and patterns so nothing went with anything else 😂 so now every new piece I buy has to be in a boring beige or brown or cream or black so that way it will go with one of the colorful pieces I already have! So it gives me more options with my clothes. And I think she is definitely a beige mom. Have you guys seen that video recently where that mom bought her toddler daughter a little plastic Christmas tree and she spray painted the plastic Christmas tree really ugly beige and brown so it went with the rest of her home decor 😂 I immediately thought of Meg when I saw that video 😂 to me neutrals are supposed to make it easier to design your home with color and add color to your home. They aren't just supposed to be on their own in my opinion. They're meant to be accented with color. It's like wearing eyelash glue without wearing any eyelashes!

It is a shame, that she is not as smart as she believes.

Just re-watching this makes me cringe. She just did not look good. To me her hair was too severe and all that posing looked liked a child preening in front of the mirror. Madam getting the hand to move along was just the icing on the cake.
The 'midi gown' is absolutely hilarious. She's morphed into her final clashing neutrals form. Although, personally, when I dress up as a worm from Tremors I try not to look so constipated. Only Meg.

@wickedwitch4942 HRH, the princess of Wales, has gorgeous legs. It was an oops. Weather, pavement, fabric movement, and nearly everyone reporting on it agreed that she has great genetics and is very athletic. Most of the female anchors whistled, too.
@wickedwitch4942 Her dress rode up when she was exiting a car at an event heavily covered by press, so there was quite a bit of coverage of her thigh. It wasn't quite as high as the shorts the Meg wore when leading the soldiers at Invictus Games, but definitely much higher than she intended, especially at a state function.

WME will ultimately be defeated by the fact that their client is Meghan Markle. I thought her at this event truly highlighted the stark difference between her and the actual Women of Power in Hollywood. Also, I've been so distracted by what was going on at the top and bottom of this dress that I have just noticed her black clutch. Everything she's doing shows why WME did not sign her and get her linked to A Listers when she was just a cable TV actress without a royal title to abuse.
The designer will soon stop offering her anything to wear ( if they ever did ) or will stop selling her their gowns. Her waist and hips seem to be the same measurement so dresses are never going to look good.
I actually think that the whole assistant incident actually makes her look like a total amateur, people who usually do red carpets and are used to doing them are always super aware of the protocol and understand exactly what todo and when and get the subtle queues so everything runs smoothly

Do designers seriously want skewed seams and zippers when the should is dropped? Wouldnt a designer make the dress so the seam is skewed when the shoulder isn’t dropped since That is the incorrect position? This looks like a total mistake!

By now, Beeb, we'll probably all have seen Catherine at the Royal Albert Hall concert looking stunning in a beautiful blue dress. Smiling genuinely, chatting easily with the performers after the show, and not desperately preening for the cameras. The midi dress she wore to greet the Crown Princess of Sweden and her husband earlier that day was also beautiful. Btw, Prince William looked his usual well-groomed, elegant, and attractive self. They are both classy, classy, classy. 😊

Quite apart from poor Archie being shrugged off as a “hobby,” it just made it glaringly obvious she does minimal parenting if at all for their children. No parent would say that. You are a parent 24/7 regardless of how many children you have. You can tell she rehearsed that line too and probably thought she was gifting us all a clever and profoundly quotable/relatable zinger🙄🤦🏽♀️

Ok, I’m old (49) & in some ways very traditional. I admire the Royal Family greatly. I’ve grown up with them, obviously not literally!
I have never seen a member of the Royal Family “work” the red carpet. Whether they are officially royal or not, she is married to the son of the King, she shouldn’t be on a red carpet like that in my opinion. It just feels tacky and very wrong.

The fabric of the lining being a different color just made it look so cheap looking (which is one of her special gifts) - it’s color blocking gone wrong. PS should take notes from Celine on how to do color-blocking the right way. And the zipper on the back just looks so cheap as well like ‘Made in China’ plastic cheap.
I believe she never had an outfit that’s tailored because she has to return them the next day. To alter the dress would be considered as bought. 😂
I think that with such a plain outfit, she should have worn bold jewelry (which I’m sure she doesn’t possess). A chunky bejeweled diamond choker and a chunky diamond bracelet or if not those two maybe some statement earrings would’ve made it fitting for the ‘duchess’ title that she never fails to mention like she was born with it and not acquired through marriage ugh 🙄. She ended up just looking like the social-climber that she is IMHO. Cringe indeed.
This dress looked like an ace bandage! IMO the dress, the shoes & the “stayed too long” walk was a complete mess.
Her over-staring at the person interviewing her indicates a high level of insecurity and nervousness at the questions, compensating by trying to intimidate. I picked this up from a recent body language analysis of Elizabeth Holmes when Theranos was The Next Big Thing and she was a Star. She used a lot of staring in her public appearances. (Ms. Holmes is now doing a decade at FCI Bryan, TX for financial fraud)

Proenza Schouler makes nice dresses and it’s hard to imagine they’d intentionally have a center seam askew. This dress worn by Meg looks so horrible I wondered if she was wearing it backwards. I’ve looked at the variations of that dress and I believe it looks best when the seams back and front are straight. The sleeves hang nicely and the neckline is as wide as it can be without slipping off the shoulders looking elegant on the right body. Getting a dress hemmed is not hugely expensive, she should stop being so last-minute and make friends with a seamstress.

To me, the design is awful. The curved centre front seam is terrible and I’m stunned that it is intentional. My eye was immediately drawn to it and I perceived that she was wearing it incorrectly…but no, it’s a design feature.😳
The black one looked ok, the beige looked like used material that was used to cover car seats way back in the 70's. That polyester yuck material from back then. Ugh!

My kids are the exact same ages as Archie and Lilly, so I always ask myself how I would answer questions posed to the Meg..... We have already done TONS with our boys, and my husband and I work far more than 1 hour a week each 😂😂

I get sometimes your body makes clothes awkward. My legs are different lengths and I'm short so telling tailors yes they are supposed to be uneven lengths is an experience. But honestly Meghan has access to stylists, tailors etc which makes it so much worse that her clothes NEVER fit her. And the beige 🙄 Forget the fact that she made a huge deal about it, beige is not in her color pallet. It does nothing for her.
I think it's odd MM keeps wearing BEIGE. I remember she complained the RF told her to wear Beige & White, not bright colors, so she would not up stage them. While in the UK she wore a lot of Green and Red. But she looked "off" in every color.
When the Variety reporter was asking longer questions, you can tell Meghan wanted to choke the woman to shut her up so the Meg could have longer to listen to herself speak.
Thank you for this video Beebs. It was exactly what all of us have been thinking, point by point. The barrage of puff pieces, the oddly insignificant appearances, and leaks about interactions with the Royal family. Yet no deals have been announced by WME and Megan signed with them in April. I agree with you that these tactics often work in the long run, but H&M are their own worst enemies.

Not being able to come up with even one specific example of what she’s been doing with her kids per the Christmas season tells me she isn’t spending any time with her kids...she has nannies to do that! I agree with EVERYTHING you commented on, you are a very perceptive and articulate commentator! I just wish they would go away, but as long as they keep forcing their way into the news on a daily basis it’s great to get your savvy take on it all. And your ability to troubleshoot and articulate her appearance/clothing issues is remarkable...if she was willing to learn, you could really help her improve her image....for free!
Beebs have been waiting for your review since this dress made it's debut. As ever, spot on. It was a disaster, the colour, cut and length. My heart went out to the assistant she looked terrified and you could tell she did not want to touch or approach Meg. I think this interaction been the 2 women sum up the relationship and atmosphere they inhabit.
