If Eric Clapton, whom I considered as one of the greatest guitar players had said that #TommyEmmanuel is the greatest guitar player in the world, I'll have no more wordsnto say after watching Tommy's performance on stage and his thousands of recorded perfomances over the decades. I have NEVER seen any great guitarist doing such an almost impossible feat with a guitar in my entire life. Without doubt, Eric Clapton (who is a musical legend himself) had been right from the beginning about the 'one-man- band-from-Down-Under', Tommy Emmanuel. His music and play reveals the new perspective on how deep, wide and endless such a simple musical instrument could do to music. It touches, revive, inspires, and lightens the heart, soul and mind of music lovers the world over. Thanks Tommy, for giving me this almost a religious feeling and inspirations. I'm awed, there is no words to express the joy and the level of enjoyment I have by liatening and watching your videos. I would say you are one in one billion of the seven billions earth populations that have such indescribable skills and creativity. God bless you.
He's definitely a Picasso-Bach-Beethoven-Einstein-Carlos Santana-Eric Clapton-put-together, of guitar playing. Amazing, enchanting and inspirational, VERY.
This video is not about a virtuoso playing his instrument. It's about a new "unity" composed by an extraordinary musician, his electric-acoustic guitar and his sound system, fully integrated, expressing pure musical art.
Oops-almost forgot to say, "Thanks very much for sharing this fabulous video". How the greatest talents tend to be under appreciated/unrecognized is a shame. I wish I could've underlined my 'thanks' and put it in bold print because you’ve given us an opportunity to see a master at work...(that’s not 'work').🙏🙏
I saw him in 2000, the first time through some friends. I have seen maybe 3-4 persons in my entire life who plated like this one of them was an American Country Gospel singer named Guy Davidson and some others including Eric Clapton himslef. These guitarist are good, even amongst the world bests. But Tommy's is an another class. It's almost unbelievable that the world knew less of him. Perhaps because of his humble nature and from Down Under he seldom got the publicity. Without doubt I would say that Tommy's is the BEST and everything any guitarists could ever have. The best in the world, and from Australia!!!
No doubt you are the best if not the very best mate. I don't pllay the guitar but the way you play is just beautiful. I picked up a CD in a house at Weipa in 1979 while visiting. Ever since I got three of your CD s . Never stop playing them on my Sony stereo. David Nipuega. Alotau .PNG
Here are the times on the video where he takes ?s: Relating to playing: 33:00, 41:50, 59:15, 1:19:00, 1:30:10, 1:40:40, 1:43:40 Relating to song-writing: 1:05:40, 1:46:00 When you have time,of course you will want to watch all of it!
I thought i have heard all of his song on youtube. The second song threw me off gaurd. Anyone know that name of that? Such a cool tune and sound! Its TE sound baby!!!!
It was great to watch. It gave me inspiration to “touch” my acoustic while seeing it, and I haven’t done that for a long time because of I've become a shredder. - But is Tommy Emmanuel the same?
Hmm...🤔, show me the 5 dummies who gave this the downward thumbs & I’ll introduce you to my 5 friends who have severe hearing deficiencies and a limited tolerance for fashionably challenged, guitar-playing geniuses.

A life dedication, I just love to see guitar players who are not afraid to put the hours in and reach the high level playing you are now. Bravo

I love the stuff on the independant thumb techniques i really need to work on them ;D
It's more than that. I often wonder how Chet got the sound?
I will never purchase any product advertised on this video. A big fuck you to the companies for interrupting one of the greats.

I'm guessing they have to be down-voting the sound of the guitar. His playing is exquisite, but that piezo pickup sounds nasty.
@@Arnd2it It's one of the best pickup's. Maybe it's the recording or filtering/editing of the video. It's definitely not the piezo pickup.
whoever the sound man is shouldn't be thinking of a career in music!
