THANK YOU! Mine started rotting at the bottom of the root stock and learned to cut off that park and repot. Even found a little pot worm or fungus larva I was able to remove and help my plant out!
You said dragon fruit stock? I assume the dragon fruit comes from it. Is dragon fruit in the cactus family? I only know about dragon fruit from working in a natural food grocery store. Now that i think about it the fruit does look like some kind of cactus. I never knew that. I Luv dragon fruit i use frozen packs for blended Margheritas. So you can use any kind of cactus stock to graft onto. Well wish me luck in saving my lil moon cactus. All of a sudden it lost itz color & stock started wilting these last couple wks.
If the cactus root rots, and I after cutting the rotted part, do I just plant the stalk immediately it in the soil or is there any method to be followed?
Keep it for air drying for 2-3 days.. let some callus form at the base … this will prevent from further rotting… You can also apply some cinnamon powder or fungicide powder at the base after cutting
@@crochetbykunal thanks a lot...in semi shade after putting the new set up how can I check whether I have to water the pot or not..means it depends on media and weather..
Im so sorry to say this but if the upper part starts rotting, your plant can’t be saved :( Although, if your upper part has small babies on it, these babies start rotting at a very later stage… you may check and graft them
I have the same issue; I did a little research and learned that it needs to be repotted in a small pot ( depending on the size of the plant) and the pot needs to have drainage. They only need to be watered once every 2 weeks and be kept indoors avoiding direct sunlight.

Will this work on an "Obregonia Denegrii variegata"? The rootstock is dying... the Obregonia Denegrii appears healthy..

And then just plant it again and wait for new roots ? When and how often to water ?
What if you don't have a base??!!! I only have the moon cactus ball thing lol

Over watering!! Also the plant matures and dies eventually but the new pups can be saved by grafting them again

Any soil draining media would work for dragon fruit, 10-20 days are enough… it starts growing roots very quickly

This plant won’t survive without the rootstock, you can use any cactus as rootstock
