What about fernandes? "You like weird japanese bands and thought it was a good idea to import a guitar with a sustainer that you only get to used once. Now you cant get rid of it and try to convince yourself it was a good investment"
I like my swap meet squier! All I had to do to it was just little tweaking and replace the tuners, neck, pickups, electronics and a pickguard and now it is a pretty good guitar!
Damn the whole neck? You coulda just fret leveled it for probably less than an equal amount of cash but oh well. I have an affinity strat from one of those guitar starter packs, I put EMGs in it. I since moved to cali tho so it's stuck back at home, but once I get it I plan to make it play as well as my fender telecaster.
@@maxwellblakely7952 that's what i accidentally did with a squier standard strat, i got a new block for the bridge which didnt fit. So i got a new american standard bridge. because of the depth and width of the rout, that didnt fit so i got a new body, which was great but then the neck didnt fit so i got an mim standard neck, and locking tuners. All pots, caps, switch and wiring got replaced and pickups got swapped for tex mex, pickguard had to go too because of the relocated pickguard screw. Only original parts were the screws holding the claw in and the jackplate. The insulting bit is it cost a bit more than a road worn or classic player and it ended up looking pretty damn similar, so i would have been better off just buying a nicer guitar and skipping the project. But i learned a lot. It is a really legitmate partscaster as odd as that sounds. Everything is genuine fender parts or a marked upgrade. That was a few years ago. Now its continued to evolve and its got a callaham bridge and a suhr pickups. I am glad i ended up doing that when i did because i'm not too crazy about pau ferro fretboards.
Nah, not at all man. It's like having a favorite color. My favorites are my LTD that modified myself to do some experiments that went insanely well and my "perrocaster" that I built on lockdown from some local wood I found.

Cort: You know the guitar market industry, and knows that pratically every brand is made by Cort, so you decided to save your money by not spending twice as much on a Ibanez and getting the same damn quality.
Epiphone!? While most of the favourite band ones are pretty cheeky, this one was 100% accurate... Except Gretsch! They don't sound so grand through plugins but no one left me one... I wish. 😂 I own or have owned most brands, outside the ones costing thousands of dollars cause I'm not about that life, and I've found I don't have a favourite brand. I think I have a favourite guitar (Hagstrom Fantomen), but I've owned more Epiphones and Gretsches than anything else, but I also enjoy ESP, Ibanez, PRS, and Charvel a lot, or Taylor (or Epiphone or Gretsch) if we're talking acoustic (which we're not).
@@kevinmitchell766 I think that's why everyone initially buys one. For the quality, which is really good, it's a better value than any Gibson. Plus, Epiphone tries more interesting things than Gibson; the most interesting thing Gibson has done is that Lzzy Hale Firebird/Explorer, which looks ridiculously dumb.
@@clippersfan8898 I like the Schecter ones, as well. The standard E1 (in purple) is great, and the purple E1 FR S with the Sustainiac is even better. Schecters have gotten expensive, too, though, and that's a bummer because they were one of the more affordable brands for a long time.
One of my favorite guitars I have is a Laguna. It just feels good. But I have a 7 string Ibanez, and I call it the Beast. I know it's a little cringe, but I keep it usually in drop A, which is a shock to some of my friends when they first see me play it.
My favorite is ESP, though I only own to LTDs. I had one already but imagine seeing live footage of your favorite band and guitarist for the first time and noticing that Alexi Laiho has the same logo on his guitar as I do behind the headstock. You should try to work against that issue. Every guitar should be seen individually. If you stick with one brand, you might end up missing out on some great instruments, even if your favorite brand is making perfect guitars.
Other than the Strandberg and Harley-Benton, I own all of these brands (no current Jacksons, but have owned them before), and I enjoy them all. Most every brand makes its gems and its lemons. Honestly once you find your fit then it is what it is. I also heard lots of people say their favorite les paul they ever played is a fake one.
My first guitar was a Jackson v, now I sit all guitars in that upright vertical position on my leg while playing with all guitars I hold, even non V shapes...i wonder if its common because I get comments by some guitarist when I play but i can't even help it, playing horizontal feels strange once I was tainted with the V. On a side note I own a gibson V, Jackson V, Dimebag dean V, BC rich shaped V and a fender strat...guess the one that gets neglected the most
Watch any classical guitarplayer with a nylon stringed acoustic, they use the same position as you do, and that's how I learned way too many years ago. Headstock at shoulder height and you are good to go.

I bought my ESP because of Alexi Laiho, I bought my PRS because of Mikael Akerfeldt.
Nice 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤
That's some good tastes right there
Mikael Akerfeldt played a 62 strat for recordings, didnt he? Only using the PRS some times on stage to promote it.
@@bingobongo1615 yeah I believe
I bought my sterling music man because it was the cheapest guitar in a 50 kilometer radius
As a B.C. Rich owner I have to correct you, I didn't just pick it based on how likely it is to wound my enemy, I bought a Warbeast so I could injure myself too.
Brilliant, as always. I will never regret my Jacksons, even though Ibanezs feel and usually sound better.
So the entire guitar except for the piece of wood
@@theDragoon007yaboiCJ damn my guy just straight up went out and said it 💀
That’s exactly what I did with my MIM fender strat. The only pieces that are original are the body and bridge grounding wire. It fuckin rips now!
I was weirded out by the Charvel description. I have a Charvel, and I really like it. It is my first guitar by the way and got it for my birthday!
My first guitar was an Ibanez...but my favourite guitar is my Squier. I accept all ridicule that everyone has to offer
Nah, not at all man. It's like having a favorite color. My favorites are my LTD that modified myself to do some experiments that went insanely well and my "perrocaster" that I built on lockdown from some local wood I found.
I can’t say shit, my first was an epiphone and now I’m on an Ibanez an my main, but i love my Squier Jazzmaster, it’s nice for when I’m not in the mood to shred, and just want to play chill music
Dont be. Guitar snobs Just try to hide their insecurity by putting down others who Dont like what they do. Play what you have with proud.
I'm a luthier, you'll get no ridicule from me. The squiers are better than the fenders right now
Ay nothings wrong with it. Any guitar can be good, just give it effort and some work. My first guitar was a Squire and it holds a special place in my heart as what got me into guitar
Cort: You know the guitar market industry, and knows that pratically every brand is made by Cort, so you decided to save your money by not spending twice as much on a Ibanez and getting the same damn quality.
I love this video format, please never stop 🙏
I like how Fender one is not even a burn. Because you can never really go wrong with a Fender or any cheap Stratocaster. We all been there before.
I find the extra reach of my Ibanez bass very helpful when trying to beat back the supermodel hordes.
a multiscale?
Ok I don’t agree with all your takes but you have earned my respect as a fellow Ibanez lover my friend @Bradleyhall
Epiphone!?
While most of the favourite band ones are pretty cheeky, this one was 100% accurate... Except Gretsch! They don't sound so grand through plugins but no one left me one... I wish. 😂
I own or have owned most brands, outside the ones costing thousands of dollars cause I'm not about that life, and I've found I don't have a favourite brand.
I have an Epiphone that I like, but honestly I bought it because I couldn't afford a Gibson.
@@jeremyobriant7266 I agree with everything you just said.
@@jeremyobriant7266 I own a schecter explorer which tbh is way better than a Gibson. The one I have has a Floyd rose trem system and it sounds fire af
@@clippersfan8898 I like the Schecter ones, as well. The standard E1 (in purple) is great, and the purple E1 FR S with the Sustainiac is even better. Schecters have gotten expensive, too, though, and that's a bummer because they were one of the more affordable brands for a long time.
I have a Squire Bullet and a Charvel. I bought the squire in 1986 and the Charvel in 1989. I play both on a regular basis.
As an Ibanez user, I had to decline all the girls for more practice time
With my Jackson, I have made a great decision!
Yep Jackson is my favorite brand. Its description doesn’t apply to me though, because I have an Ibanez too
The ESP is so accurate. Now I really understand the company and while at that I'm really happy with my Eclipse
Which Eclipse and what year?

me too....
Ironically, it was Evanescence’s 2003 band line up & their live sets from then I discovered ESP guitars
Strat with a hum bucker: You only had money for one guitar but you want to play many different styles.
I have an issue with being extremely loyal to the brands I use that I wouldn't buy from another even if I really wanted to. Luckily my guitars are great, cheap but great.
my favorite is esp too, i dont have an esp or ltd yet, but i wish i have..... he was right, i only start liking it because of kirk 😀😀😁
the sound of esps are really amazing yeah?
@@rafaelasecco5204 I'd say my love for Eclipse (Les Paul) models come from James Hetfield, so he's not completely off 😄 But overall it was Alexi Laiho who really sparked the love for ESPs for me. And yes, they do sound great. I own some of the cheapest guitars they have to offer and they sound great imo
@@AnzaShadow im thinking to buy one ltd flying v some day, and a wah, then it will be awesome 😀
You should try to work against that issue. Every guitar should be seen individually. If you stick with one brand, you might end up missing out on some great instruments, even if your favorite brand is making perfect guitars.
I’ve loved dimebag Darrell for years 😂
Other than the Strandberg and Harley-Benton, I own all of these brands (no current Jacksons, but have owned them before), and I enjoy them all. Most every brand makes its gems and its lemons. You just gotta find the right one for you. And I always say, a good guitar is a good guitar, and a good guitar can be expensive or affordable.
My first guitar is the Ibanez RG320EXZ, but I'm saving up to the RGRT421-WK, and if I'm getting better at guitar (can play solos), I'll buy the Jackson X Series Warrior
I play on the guitar more than a half year
(I started it in December).
I can play Death (Lack of Comprehension, Crystal Mountain, etc.)
I can play Gorguts (only the stiff and cold, but I can play the solo.)
And many classic bands like: Anthrax, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Sepultura, Gojira
And if I'm get the rgrt421wk, I'll try Carcass too.
I have an Ibanez gio 7 string. It’s like $150 and I just got it to have it (bass is my main instrument). It’s great for metal
Loved my Ibanez gio 7 string, fantastic for a starter 7. I eventually maxed out 3 credit cards for my kiesel though and haven’t looked back.
@@JesseCoons I bought mine simply because it was a 7 string for $150, and it’s great. My bass is also an Ibanez. It’s a SGDR 5 string, and it’s so good
@@Bassgangvt yeah great value on the gios. Can’t go wrong with most Ibanez’s in my experience.
I bought the gio 7 as well and loved it, but I’ll warn you somehow I ended up financing a Strandberg for the 8th string only 3 months later.
I own a Squier Strat, an Ibanez RG Prestige, a Brendon Small Explorer, a Harley Benton Jazz Master, an LTD Master of Puppets, and am gonna buy an LTD Arrow later this year.
Idk what my favorite is but that Ibanez is pretty wizard.
Jackson gang where you at? ✊🏻
Omg bald dave mustine!!1
As an acoustic player I can relate
My first electric guitar and bass were both Fenders (a tele and jazz respectively). They're both great instruments, but now I mostly play my Ibanez basses and Schecter guitars. Although I did get a Cort kx508ms a few weeks ago as my first venture into 8-string territory. It's an incredible guitar for the price.
Corts are the ones made in the Ibanez factory iirc? How much did yours cost if I may? Im curious as they seem an amazing deal but I cant find a dealer that holds ANY of their models in my area.
Ibanez were made in the Cort factory. Because of the strikes and bad PR from the Korean factory production moved to Indonesia.

I have a 1991 Charvel Fusion Plus, that I bought brand new when I 17 and the description hit close to home. It did get me laid a few times in high school though. With that said my cheaper model Jackson JS32 has a crappy trem system too. My 1987 Ferrari Red Les Paul Studio stays in the case. I'm afraid if someone looks at it wrong the headstock will fall off.

@@peacefulquasar I was joking around with that stereotype. I’ve got one of those guitars as well.
Still, I’d mention Mikael Åkerfeldt as another PRS user.
As a PRS player this is far from the truth.
The PRS-scene is an interesting one. The truth is most of us just wanted a nice-ass guitar and decided to splurge on a Gibson Les Paul, but once we played it realized how horrible it was, yet still needed to spend the $3k in our pocket... lol.
Idk, if you are a PRS player, you'll get it.
Honestly once you find your fit then it is what it is. I played a "professionally setup" fender player with floyd rose bridge and maximum stability whatever that means and I still like my squier bullet strat more, all I did to it was change the nut to a graphite one and set it up to my liking.
On a side note I own a gibson V, Jackson V, Dimebag dean V, BC rich shaped V and a fender strat...guess the one that gets neglected the most
Horizontal is wrong anyway and reduces reach and increases fatigue... 45 degrees is correct
@@THRASHMETALFUNRIFFS I usually do get more tired if I'm horizontal, especially acoustic.
YOO IT'S THE SAME FOR ME
Watch any classical guitarplayer with a nylon stringed acoustic, they use the same position as you do, and that's how I learned way too many years ago. Headstock at shoulder height and you are good to go.
My jazz master is in the living room and my wife says it looks like it's about to ask for spare change.
Jokes aside, I think that at least for the price, Harley Benton's are absolutely great.
Absolutely!, I own 3 they are my 3 favorite guitars currently. (but admittedly, on 2 of them I threw some Seymour Duncans in to put them on par with the big boys)

Harley Benton main here, advice:
Always go for the guitars between the price range of 180 - 300 €
