3:47 Exactly why he is my favorite, despite not “showing off” in the way that most others do. I think his humble nature as a person reflected in his guitar playing as well. He didn’t want the listener to notice how skilled he was; he wanted the listener to feel the emotions that his music could convey for itself without an over-abundance of embellishments. His unique slide guitar melodies in his post-Beatles discography also take more technique than people give him credit for!

"Tim Henson: Probably the future of guitar playing"
Really makes me happy to see someone as big as you give Tim that kind of a respect. I feel like he's so underrated. Thanks for giving him the props he deserves.
True I’m not a huge fan of polyphia but I absolutely love Tim Henson and Scott lepage both great musicians
He's not that underrated. Luckily, he's gaining some fame because of the shred collab, and that's awesome.
i feel like jack mcewan is pretty underrated too and apart of the future of guitar playing even though he wasnt on this list
@@PhilipSalisbury I need the links
Okay fan girl jk
Nice to see kanami tono on here!! She's so talented
Neil Young: A legend in both acoustic and electric guitar playing.
Flameking20 amen
lol not in singing tho
@@dgmwitz I actually really like his singing lol. Though I will admit that his voice is an acquired taste.
Is someone actually named Neil young or are you referring to Scott pilgrim young Neil although it’s probably somebody real
@@iamaqween5156 Uh no Neil Young is a real person lol
“The guy in KISS who doesn’t have the long tongue”
Or the long ego.
They all have huge egos tbh
Or The one with the joker laugh
@@Chemoffett_ Even though for some reason they used footage of the one with the joker laugh.
Jason Becker: the most inspirational guitarist, composer and human being... The absolute God of Guitar. My hero.
How the hell does he not include Becker. While Rhodes is the most influential in the least time. Becker is easily the greatest with the least playing time.
@@bobbert152 totally agree, my friend. Glad to see that I am not the only one missing Jason Becker in this video. He deserves all our support. I have bought all of his albums and merchandising to help him and his family. Long Live Jason.
Eddie Van Halen also played his guitar with a drill on the song Poundcake. Not just Paul Gilbert.
Part 2 should include Chet Atkins, Gary Moore, Pete Townsend, Hank Marvin, Albert King, Wes Montgomery, Joe Walsh, Don Felder, The Edge, Richie Sambora, Mick Mars, and a lot more.
Hatari-2 steve stevens!!
John Squire
bernard sumner and mick jones too
Ritchie blackmore
Also Paul McCartney, and kudos for mentioning Hank Marvin!
Johnny Marr: The only guy that can Write Complex and hard Stuff, and make you wanna dance to it.
Lindsey Buckingham: Finger Picking God.
Mikael Åkerfeldt: Writes Heavier Riffs than his own weight.
John Petrucci: Jesus is King.
Noel Gallagher: Greatest Johnny Marr wannabe.
Graham Coxon: The Nerdy Kid that is friend of the popular Kid.
Rivers Cuomo: The Nerdy Kid that Plays harder than you.
Steven Wilson: The guy that says the doesn't play well, but is better than most of the other Guitar players around him.
Nick Valensi: The Best Second Guitar Player.
Albert Hammond Jr: The Second that the First let's be the First.
Robert Fripp: The Best Guitar Player ever, and he knows it.
Fripp is that one guy who is so good that he makes something that's clearly impossible just to see if he can play it... And then makes something harder!
I wouldn't call Noel a johnny Marr wanna be
I'm gonna assume that calling Rory Gallagher "The Irish Gary Moore" was a deliberate joke, being as Gary Moore was Irish himself
Patrick Bishop Northern Ireland
@@charliesingleton2777 That's still fairly Irish, as opposed to English , Scottish or Welsh.
Also they sound nothing alike. It was funny though
Do you think Tyler was just trolling?
This really bothered me I must say! Gary Moore is still Irish
If you don't know Kanami Tono (3:22) you're missing something. Her band mates are top notch also.
Alex Lifeson is not on this list.

Good list...
I can't believe none of the maiden guitarists made it.
Phil Collen
Blackmore doesn t fit the list. And he is the greatest guitarist of all time and the guitarists of the greatest rock band in history.
Ray toro: the only lead guitarist that doesnt get noticed
poke_ie if kirk hammet was in a punk rock band
For real he’s so good

Wait is ur profile pic Kaito Kid?
Metalhead Comicbookfan woah thats an old one but no its kekkai sensen
Frank iero and Eric Egan: true pop punk legends. I love heart attack man and MCR, and some of Frank’s solo work.
Ray Toro: he will play the hardest riff in history and then say “see? It’s very very simple” without sounding like a complete asshole.
Mafalda Ribeiro and Ray toro has I high vocal range
Alexis Mellado Ray toro is the fucking king of mcr
Mafalda Ribeiro Sweet baby ray
True xD
lmao yess exactly
Daron Malakian from System of a Down:
Tha guy that plays riffs you would never thought of doing, but when he plays it sounds so simple that it's awesome.
Tyler: 100 guitarist and includes davie
Davie: so you choose death
loved the Trent Reznor mention.
Ps, Kanami Tono is great. I love her skills.
mike Einziger, rob scallon,Tim Henson, the doo, Allan holdsworth and Paul Gilbert are cool too.
Kanami is the top 1 tho..
Hell yeah
@@jakesterfiddle hehe
Johnny Marr: One of the best guitarist to use arpeggios and chords.
"Rory Gallagher, the Irish Gary Moore......" Can someone please break the news to Tyler that Gary Moore was Irish XD
Dave The Rave yeah so i think he can be considered both Irish and British, he’s from Northern Ireland so he’s from the UK, depends on what he called himself.
@Dave The Rave he was from Belfast, as am i, and moved to Dublin to start his career, he was Irish
R.I.P EVH... forever in our hearts and guitar picks
Stevy T. Is so under rated ! I wish you two would team up you sound great together.
Agreed about Tim Henson. Sad to not see Ichika Nito on this list. He may not have the recognition that many of the other guitarists on this list have (yet), but he's damn good and comes up with new ridiculous licks and phrases every day. Got a sentence for him?
Mick Mars, only his fingers are moveable and we love it.
Paco de Lucia: the greatest Flamenco guitarist ever with a humility so big as his ability.
Ace Frehley, the sorely underrated riff machine that apparently can be confused with the lead singer/rhythm guitarist, Paul Stanley
exactly
Kurt: “If a pawn shop was a guitarist, but one of those really nice pawn shops” I died laughing 😂
Jerry Cantrell: if Eddie Van Halen had a baby with Tom Morello.
More like Iommi and Van Halen
Jerry Cantrell, the most creative riff writer out there...
This is probably one of my favorite videos I've seen by you. Not that your other content isn't great. But I felt it was a neat way to kick back and take a break from being guitar nerds a bit and appreciate the heros that we love. Awesome video idea. No negativity. Just acknowledging fellow musicians.
Im really mad about the Rory Gallagher bs thing, also about Ritchie god damn Blackmore not ever being there.

@@kashouclimatecontrolinc.3048 yeah he said loads wrong haha

Okay but WHERE was ray toro
David gilmour: creator of the greatest guitar solo of all time.
return to serenity by testament has the greatest solo of all time but ok
Nigel wrong but okay
Guthrie Govan's description is just so accurate hahahahaha what a master!
When you were describing Paul Stanley you described Ace Raily (still in kiss) and showed his picture.
Yeah, I picked up on that too as was scrolling thru comments to see if any pointed this out. But now I am wondering if Tyler actually meant to say Paul Stanley or Ace Freleey?
