Why no Jackson Rhoads? It was the first offset V and the very first Jackson guitar ever. And there is the whole Randy Rhoads angle,and it's the coolest v. Back in the day the most metal looking guitars were Jackson Rhoads and BC Rich warlocks.......
I used to work in the Guitar Gallery at Sweetwater so I have played a lot of these. Despite its looks, the Nuno Bettencourt Washburn is an incredible guitar. It sounds great, has unparalleled upper fret access, and has a super comfortable neck. 10/10

Usually, if you make a guitar out of oak, it will sound pretty thin, but with the chambering and from being freaking dry... I think that those buying commercial replicas of his guitar are nowhere near from sounding like the real thing... Any way, I'm neither interested into signature guitars, nor by sounding like anyone. My fav'd guitar is neckthru with a hippie-sandwich, it's about 3 quarters of maple, a quarter of alder, 10% of the neck is a graphite bar instead of the trussrod and the fretboard is of phenowood, the wood mixed with phenolic resin being sawdust from Brazilian rosewood... AFAIK, I'm the only one owing two on the 46 ever built between 1991 and 1999 and from a psychoacoustic POV, there are only 2 things inducing the same effect on me, two Guarnerius violins, one is the "Vieuxtemps" used by Anne-Akiko Meyers, you know, the $18m one, the other has no price, it's owned by the city of Genoa and you need to win a contest to be allowed to play it, it's "Il Cannone", formerly owned by Paganini.You can't use these guitars as workmates, it's to intense, you'd end at the loonies if you play these all the time! When I had an US-Strat, had to fight to make it sound, there is no such issue there, but I have to fight to not enter in a transe instead!!!
I'm absolutely in love with the Ibanez JEM and I feel it's definitely up there among the most legendary guitars like Dime's and EVH's signature models. Absolutely gorgeous
Dimebag's Dean guitar feels very good to play on: Strings very close to neck without buzzing. It sort of feels like it plays itself. Downside: It's very big, and heavy. Massive guitar!
I was in the guitar store to buy my first guitar. I want to buy a Les Paul, but then I saw a Marty Friedman Kelly (1998 Japan). I had to buy this guitar. Plays very nice.

The handle on the Jem is surprisingly useful. I've got two Jems, and I find myself using the monkey grip all the time. It's kind of silly looking, but I honestly wish all guitars had them, from a pure utility standpoint.
Everyone has their favorite signature guitar, but everyone knows that the Sonic the Hedgehog ESP guitar truly is the most badass guitar of all time, including the Shadow guitar. Im also talking about the Shoe headstock, truly the fastest guitar in existance.

I bought an Ernie Ball John Petrucci Majesty a few years ago, and although it was the most unnecessarily expensive purchase I've ever made that's not a car, its the greatest guitar I've ever played and I love it to death
I got one of those Schecter avenger things practicly for free. Never been a fan of Synyster Gates but the guitar is fenomenal and the bodyshape grows on you, thankfully mine doesn’t have that stripe paintjob. The shape is the definition of fugly!
Good point about Jason Becker. His style was very fun and playful. He had a unique voice that often had some nursery rhyme type melodies mixed in. No telling how much more he could have become. Glad he's still around, expressing himself, and still expiring us.
I think I heard Vai say in an interview once the point of the monkey grip being they wanted to come up with something no one in their right mind would copy off of their design. I could totally see that being the case!
Brian May's guitar has a really cool history behind it. His father made it out of a table top and a 100 year old wood beam from a fireplace. There were also parts from his mother's sewing kit. Also, that guitar has never been refretted
The practical application of the "monkey handle" on the JEM is so it can't be copied. Vai designed the guitar with it so you could always spot someone trying to rip off the guitar.

Basically a rear loaded strat (no pickguard) SUPER STRAT ! The Bumblebee on the back of Van Halen 2 was the first rear loaded (funny term huh 😂) strat that I ever saw. So after that 'Bumblebee' Charvel was made, most companies followed ( Kramer, Bc Ritch, Ibanez,etc). The LA metal scene yielded lots of cool super strats FROM lynch, DeMartini, Keel, Rough Cutt (Amir Derakh), etc.
John Petrucci guitar not legendary? It literally outsold almost every guitar on this list. From what I've read it's one of the best selling signature guitars out there. So many people have this guitar. As for the dave mustane V, i think it's in A tier. It got so many people wanting to play Jacksons and King Vs.

I have only been playing for 3 years and only own 5 guitars but I bought the a Schecter Loomis 7 string signature for my birthday a couple months ago and it is the best guitar I have ever played in my life. After playing this guitar for months I dont think I’ll ever buy a guitar that isnt schecter ever again. No its not a super crazy guitar but I think simplicity of its design adds to its charm and the feel and quality is the best ive ever experienced. I think it deserves more than a C tier.

It's to get a good grip on it before you toss it over one shoulder during the drum set-up for the solo before you begin to shred and tap so divinely, it makes poor Eddie Van Halen take a step back from his spot in the Band in Heaven to shed a tear...Now please move it up to legendary.
@@awguitarroom8033 After owning both, yes. The Deans (Korean AND USA) are the least nice of Dave's endorsed brands. They also sound the worst because of the Livewire pickups. That being said, my main point is that the Gibsons are better than meh, and the Deans are less than legendary.
@shelbyavant5081 I've played his Rust in Peace dean signature and his new Gibson as well and I liked the Dean more. The Gibson wasn't even finished really. The back of the headstock wasn't sanded down and for the price you pay for it those little things are inexcusable . To me it doesn't play as good as my 400 dollar Ibanez. If it's a preference thing that's fine man. You have yours and I have mine. I've also owned a bunch of Dean guitars throughout the years and I've always loved them so I may be a little bias. That being said my father in law has an old les Paul and it is one of the best guitars I've ever played feeling wise. So I got nothing against Gibson or any guitar company.

@@awguitarroom8033 After owning both, yes. The Deans (Korean AND USA) are the least nice of Dave's endorsed brands. They also sound the worst because of the Livewire pickups. That being said, my main point is that the Gibsons are better than meh, and the Deans are less than legendary.
@shelbyavant5081 I've played his Rust in Peace dean signature and his new Gibson as well and I liked the Dean more. The Gibson wasn't even finished really. The back of the headstock wasn't sanded down and for the price you pay for it those little things are inexcusable . To me it doesn't play as good as my 400 dollar Ibanez. If it's a preference thing that's fine man. You have yours and I have mine. I've also owned a bunch of Dean guitars throughout the years and I've always loved them so I may be a little bias. That being said my father in law has an old les Paul and it is one of the best guitars I've ever played feeling wise. So I got nothing against Gibson or any guitar company.

I just recognized that MAB 4 Neck Guitar is all Floyd Roses, the poor guitar tech. Also I remember reading about the monkey grip in the JEM, iIrc Vai literally wanted something to grip and carry his guitar when outside of the case.
