Nothing beats learning how to throw a hawk. But I doubt I would throw one in a fight unless it was a surprise attack and I had a truncheon or framing hammer to rush them w right after throwing the hawk. Don't overlook a good estwing 22oz framing hammer
Woodscraft, not really. Rescue Tool, probably. Self Defense option for your 18-21 year old Daughter living off Campus who can't Legally have a Pistol on her Nightstand? Yep, it fit there. Or any other "Gun Free Zone or State".
Bought one a couple of weeks ago just for shits and giggles. Modified it a bit by grinding out the swells from the spike so it's more streamlined and won't get stuck as easy and I ground out a beard for it. Now, it makes for an excellent weapon, on par with high end tomahawks
If someone kicked my door in, and my eastwing hawks and rmj eagle talon is in front of me.....im grabbing my eastwing.EVERYTIME!!!!... RMJ products are sculpture's absolutely beautiful...but my eastwing hawks is a fucking beast
Good looking Tomakawk. I didn't even know Estwing made one. Seems to lean more to the tactical side, but there is definitely a lot it could be used for in the woods. Great review! Thanks for sharing.
We had Estwing Tomahawks in Vietnam War. They seemed to work chopping bamboo and vietcong. Every time I look at these jokes called Tactical Axes, I laugh when they say they broke or thin steel chipped the edge. I throw wood handle axes a lot for fun camping when I was young and stupid. Guess what wooden handled axes break at the head and that is a disaster camping. Splitting wood is not what a short camp axe is for. Bring a steel wedge it will never break. I heated with wood. Cut up many a cord of wood! History of the tomahawk axe or war-hammer. Ever hear of King Charles Martel? Emperor Charlemagne’s grandfather. Martel means hammer. Charles Martel’s weapon of choice was not a sword. It was a War Hammer. Much like a Tomahawk with the spike on end. What is that spike good for? Going through a steel helmet! At “Battle of Tours” 754 Loses estimate depending on the source. Charles Martel's force lost about 1,500 while the Islamic-Moroccan (Umayyad) Caliphate from Spain led army was said to have suffered massive casualties of up to 375,000 men vs 1,000 Frank’s. The called Charles Martel “The Hammer of God!” If Martel and the Franks had been defeated? We would be speaking Arabic and there would have been no Christianity. The world would have been muslim. To bad huh? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tours
all tomahawks are axes but not all axes are tomahawks. with an axe the primary use is wood work secondary is fighting. with the tomahawk its reversed, primary is fighting then secondary is woodwork.
Great video brother. I think is kind of a jack of all trades, it does work for simple wood work and its more of a breaching tool but for the price not bad. At least i know what to ask for Hanukkah. Keep up the great reviews.
Neither as far as I'm concerned just nearly worthless ,not heavy enough for woodwork and not long enough for a good weapon. A spear or Lance is far superior. Just my opinion.

Leslie Kovacs That last bit made me laugh. Thanks for that.
It actually works awesome for splitting wood. Use it like a hatchet
Sweet to hear you lived in IL. A Southern Illinoisan here! Love your videos! Thanks for all the great info!! Especially B.O.Bags and G.H. Bags!!
Thabks for watching. But I am glad I don’t live there anymore. 😂
"Thinking outside the box" is never a bad thing... It's a vital survival tool IMO. Nice vid... ATB

Thank you for your service I have two estwing tools these things are mean as fuck and powerful.
Based
I killed a old water heater with one.
Capt'n .Woodsrat - 5 points!
They had both the double and the tomahawk so I grabbed them last time I was at the store. Should be nice to use they feel solid
Nice vid. What brand was that canteen stove you had? I’ve been looking for one better than the military issue
There is a stainless military type available that I've used for years. I think he mentioned it was a heavy cover stove that he used.

Fuck cold steel, buy made in America.
What song is that guitar from at beginning of video
For the cost they beat the competition easily
Good stuff Man, enjoyed your video
The metal handle makes it a weapon not a tool .
Ok

Hahaha, this dumbfuck's gonna carry a spear around 😂
ahahahaha a spear! good one, imo a tank is better, jet even better!
Lol
Have fun fighting indoors, or even solo with a spear. Dodge your spearhead once, grab your handle and your done.
