Thanks for the video. I just had to do this today and you simplified the wiring because the replacement part came with both wires black. Keep up the good work, you are really appreciated. 👏

Thanks for watching and reaching out. I’m pretty sure I do in my early on vids. and most of my vids include me taking off the bumper as well. 8 bolts and a lil muscle , you got this.

I did the same thing and my low beam still won’t turn on but if I use the high beam connector it turns on what could it be ?

At 10:01 in the video, the headlight bulb that is already in the housing, that you’re plugging the connector into looks round at the base of the headlight. I have a headlight with 3 tabs that line up into the housing and you give the bulb about a quarter turn to secure it in place. Do I need a different connector than the one you just installed for that type of bulb? Or can I use the same connector that you did?

Appreciate the positive feedback and I hope more of the vids on this channel come in handy for you. Unfortunately I do not have a shop of my own to mention on here. But hopefully one day soon that’ll change.

U did well. I like it. Have u had a pigtail where the connector at the bulb makes the acual bulb flicker ? I did same work u performed and i have same problem woth both driver and passenger side low beam flickering. They even alternate on and off on my 2011 silverado LT 1500 series 5.3 liter. Any suggestions ? I changed out 3 pigtails on my driver side. Original connector burnt. 2nd pigtail connector also burnt. 3rd connector doing good except now flickering as well as passenger. I dont get it.Terminals are good. Any suggestions?

Hey bro how are you I’m always watching your videos and enjoying them and im mechanic too but for this in reality if we need to fix the connector in hurry it will be way different

Thanks for watching and keeping up to date on the latest. The only two ways to fix this is pigtail splice in or connector and pins and both are great fixes when done right. But your right time is $$$ and we’re always pushed to rush. As long as it’s always safe , effective, and no come backs than we’re good to go.

I did exactly your technique, but low beam on both driver and passenger low beam on 2011 silverado LT take turns flickering and turn on and off when they feel like it. I figured i will replace both wire harness and if it happens again i will have to find an auto electrician. I checked and replaced fuses, relays, switches, pigtails, bulbs still the same.

If it’s flickering it has to be a connection somewhere. I’d check the pins at the bulb just to be sure, check the splice to ensure it’s good, than whichever connector it leads to.

Great question. You don’t have to, just be careful to have the lights off when doing this otherwise power will be sent and you might have some issues.

So why exactly did this happen?

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  2 роки тому

Great question. Could been a few different issues.
Headlamp gets hot as halogens do and just burns the connector
Pins are slightly spread and contact goes on and off causing excessive heat
Wires are to small of a gauge and create excessive heat
Corrosion is close by and causing issues.
One of those will be your issue

Makes sense , aftermarket headlamps come with small gauge wire 😭
